This is exactly why I'm looking at this radio. I have an 85 Dodge Ramcharger with NO modern luxuries. I'm looking at this to get Bluetooth and Pandora capability in my truck. On top of that, my speedo doesn't work, so I can use this until I get that fixed (the radio is cheaper than fixing the speedo. 😆 😆).
Just installed this in my 72 El Camino SS. So far so good, only thing I'm don't like is I can't set the the unit custom color to be just white, it's more of a blue color.
I wish on the media playing screen, you could control the volume on your screen. With that, this would be THE definitive headunit for hidden systems. Be able to hide the sph10bt somewhere, and use your phone/tablet to control it. No need to mess with the factory headunit at all.

I got this stereo when it got released and it worked great for a few months and I was happy I made the choice but after a while it had problems with the pioneer smart sync app and it would not connect to the stereo, so I had to set it to Bluetooth. I had high hopes for this unit but I was tired of the unit not able to connect correctly so I sold it. Also i always install pioneer brand units in all my vehicles but this unit let me down.

Am using it with a 8inch tablet...i have put a small plastic block ( size of a phone) on the back of the tablet using double sided tape...the plastic block fits well in the cradle..works great!
Can you play am/fm radio without your cell phone? and can you save radio stations on the physical unit like a "regular" radio or can you only store stations through the app on the phone?
it's kind of weird, I got an s10 standard and it seemed to have some issues connecting until I figured I also needed to press "YES" on the radio. My major gripe with this is that the wired mode unfortunately isn't usable. The main issue is obviously it doesn't seem to pass the sound through USB due to the way Samsung implements USB OTG (I think), so basically it only allows control of the radio but phone audio comes from the phone... Even then there are other glitches and nitpicks such as not being able to work in both modes - if one would unplug the cable it would be nice to fall back to bluetooth, and when connecting to prioritize USB, but as it stands it only allows changing modes through the "MENU" when the app id disconnected... Which is like 20 seconds to do. It also doesn't seem to start correctly with USB plugging (even with USB AUTO ON), and with the S10 using USB then bugs out the Bluetooth "Audio" toggle on the "Bluetooth device settings", when selecting if we want "Calls", "audio" and "Contacts" Audio will punch back to off with a failure on Android. Anyway, I just use bluetooth with it and sets USB AUTO OFF , so that I can keep the phone cahrging. Everything seems to work well enough over bluetooth but it's a shame we couldn't use this more like a true Android Auto wired unit. I would also expect better audio quality over wire but as I said, that's not working as audio doesn't pass over USB.
Can I use android auto with this ? So if android auto was running on my android phone ...can I use it while the phone is in cradle.. no backup camera was a deal breaker
There is no backup camera input on this stereo. Stereos with no screens have no video or backup camera inputs. This specific stereo is just your phone connecting via bluetooth or USB. Any recommendations for a wireless backup camera? Been looking at the LOOK IT and I think it may be the best option. I wouldn't think it would be an issue running to the same phone that you're using on the deck.

hey man whats the difference b/w 2 RCA vs 3 RCA output setup, does 2 RCA output lacks in audio quality vs 3 RCA & can we connect 3 amplifiers with 2 RCA stereo.
So it's nothing to do really with audio quality, instead it's relevant to expandability with an external amplifier. The best situation is 3 sets of RCA outputs, one set for front speakers, one set for rear speakers and the final set for the amplifier
Believe it or not, i have no ideea why i can't stop this unit. Mounted it , works fine but cannot turn it off unless i remove the front. Nevertheless, i have no clue why i can't change radio stations frum the unit, have to use the phone all the time. Read the manual, they say to use buttons after stations have been memorized but mine just shifts frequency, doesn't change station. Any ideeas please? Thanks.
After a while this will stop connecting automatically via Bluetooth. Will have to connect manually each time, still sync app will not pair with device 9 out of 10 times. Audio quality is very good. It easily drives my jbl components.
This might be the ticket for my 1933 ford resto mod. Change out the old Alpine unit that doesn’t even do BT and I can have nav, make calls, play all my music.
CONS (that i found online) : NO MUTE! you have to keep pressing volume down many times, imagine if u listening loud music - NO USB cable option in the back of stereo - USB is on the Left side, and phone holder swivels to the left only - NO FAST CHARGING - Phone holder may hit your dash when extended (depending on your car dashboard design) - OTHERS CONS PPL MENTION: seems you can't save Radio Stations , and app has issues with 'Auto-Connect' some people complain about having to manually connect every time they get into the car.
I bought it. I'm very disappointed that the app doesn't support Siri and using Siri without the app is buggy. Then, as far as I know, if you don't use the app, there's no way to have radio presets. I wish I would have shopped around more. Any ordinary BT head unit would be better if I could find a way to good way to mount my phone without the cradle.

Yep. I use the i pad on a dash mount. Speed doesn’t work as you need the phone chip for this.

You can ground it. You will not be able to access some features without it grounded.
Hook the handbrake in with the grounding wire, that's how I did another stereo and it worked for the last guy so I just did it again

App version up to 2.9.1 is like this and the app version 3.0 and the last version 3.1.0 has a diferent layout. I keep the v2.9.1 with the speedometer.

If you plug your phone in with a USB, your phone will charge. If your phone is not plugged in, it will not receive any electrical charge.
