Very lovely informative video. Great suggestions without overwhelming students. I love my mechanical pencils and the Mars Lumigraph ones with no back glare. I also just enjoy doing regular tonal, detailed drawings and separate paintings of the same. So much beauty can be accomplished on a budget also.😊

Love this video, in the top three I have found on fur drawing, it's been really helpful. You gave a lot of good information that others just don't mention. I am going to check out your other videos and 100% going to sign up to your website, feel like I can make a lot of progress in my drawings following good tutorials like yours. I haven't looked at your other videos yet, but if you can recommend one that would be great. I am struggling with getting the fur to look right, when I go over it to darken I kind of just fill it in, as much as this video helped I still struggle to not basically colour in the area...

What I want is a video of you doing small sections of fur maybe like in a circle and I can practice it and watch it over and over again until I get it right and don’t speed up the video do it in real time so it’s easy to practice!

So basically the best way to simplify values is to go light to dark? I know that might sound silly but I have a hardtime finding mid tons in my drawings.
So your recommend the colored pencil paper for graphite she's charcoal commissions? I just notice it's not very smooth. Or do you recommend other paper, like Vellum? I'm just struggling to find the best paper for my pet commissions? Thank you!!
For charcoal I recommend medium textured or pastel paper, you want lots of tooth to hold that loose media.

Which kind of paper, rough Or smooth
Medium textured paper works best for graphite, but smooth can also be used.
Thank you. I've watched a lot of videos on this topic in the last couple of days, and this one is the best. Could use a little clarification on the idea of "patterns" at around the 5:45 mark. It sounds like you are describing a "set" of static patterns, but I'm pretty sure the repetition would be bad, and you are also not doing that as you demonstrate, so I'm obviously misunderstanding something.

Its been almost 2 years (on 20th may will be 2 years) when I didnt see my little cat. I am an artist, and I decided to draw her this year. I can't really draw fur. I dont really like working with pencil. Can I do this but with color pencils? My cat was the tricolor cat, and I want to do this in color.
