Just bought one of these today and can't wait to use it. My current trimmer is a Weed Eater (Poulan) 21cc that I paid a hundred bucks for TWENTY YEARS AGO and it still runs great. I was waiting for it to die so I'd have an excuse to buy a new rig, but after twenty years and no sign of failure, I said shag it... I want something new. If the Huskie has the same life span as the Weed Eater, I'll be happy!
Just got mine today from Lowe’s! Can’t wait to use it. Have the Husqvarna leaf blower and that’s amazing as well.
How has it held up? I got one that was returned and I paid $110 for it. Regular price is $259. I used it at my house in a 300' ditch that's 3-4' deep in some places and it went through itvwith no problems.

I have the 128 LDX version. I bought it in the spring of 2013 and use only Husqvarna XP+ premixed 50:1 fuel. I've only replaced the air filter once. Not a single issue with it. I did change it to a fixed line trimmer head the day I bought it. It's a beast for consumer grade. I just bought the BCA850 brushcutter attachment for it. 10 years old and going strong!

i dont really like my 128ld starts kinda weird hard to tune i like my stihl fs 94r starts 1st pull and rips like a dirtbike

per directions on unit: 3 pulls on full choke and then half choke and pull to start , then close choke once unit is warmed up
I've had mine for 7 years. Excellent service with no issues. Very reliable.
My Husqvarna 223l for 7 years always started after 2 or 3 pulls, the only thing I did replaced the washers (grommets) twice and spark plug . This year 2023 I replaced the carburetor I love that machine!!
It's a very tough machine!
I've had mine for 7 years with no issues and I run it for long periods of time usually 2 hours. I love the power it has.
If you take care of your equipment they last forever

I just bought a 128LD today at Lowe's and I like it. And I use the Opti 2 oil for the pre-mix.

I’ve seen where some people call Husqvarna trash but I have this model and it’s been a good machine…Around 6 years old I replaced carb started running rough but it’s because I used ethanol gas the biggest enemy of these 2 cycle engines…I can’t complain about the trimmer it’s been great!!!

My 128LD is 9 years old and never given me any problems till today.
It'll run for about 10 minutes then start to lose power, bogg down and stall out.
Tomorrow I'm going to head to Lowes and see about a new air/fuel filter which in 9 years has never been replaced and hope that does the trick.
I'd say its worth a try. A plug and new filter is a great place to start.
Farpoint Farms just got back from Lowes and they neither had the fuel or air filter. So I said "screw it" I bought a brand new one for $200.00
You might want to buy the replacement carburetor, spark plug and fuel filter, from Amazon, and get the little inner spline tool for the mixture adjust to turn the two 'non-tamper' mixture nubs slightly richer. The old carb is easy to replace: just loosen the 2, 8mm nuts holding the airfilter base and carburetor on and replace the old one with new, the pump diaphrams and valves get stiff with age, and the new carb kit is under $20 bucks.
I'm on the 2nd carburetor now.
I got the replacement air/fuel filter but the new fuel filter is giving me a hard time installing on the old fuel line because the line is hard and rigid and won't fit over tge nipple of the new filter.
Something tells me I have to get a new, more malleable fuel line.
Yeah it'd be great if they sent better Tygon fuel line with the carb kit, you want the smallest, thinnest wall thickness stuff that brick and mortar shops sell. I wish i knew the part number, but it stays flexible for years. I've got the same stuff on a 18 year old Poulan chain saw to replace the junk it came with and it's made a world of difference in how well it runs.
I was debating whether to go with the Dewalt brushless string trimmer bc I have 5 batteries, but I think this Husqvarna is a better option bc of the attachments. Can you add links to the attachments in the second picture at 2:58?
Just picked up one from Lowes yesterday. Apparently, if you buy 3qts of the Husqvarna fuel mix with the unit, the warranty is extended. Dont know if it's any better than the other stuff, but why not.

Bustin' on ya, but I've owned one for going on 3 years and feel the same way, great little machine and starts every time exactly how it says there on the label.
Starting from cold:
Pump 10x
Full choke
Pull 3x (mine fires on the third but dies)
Half choke and mine starts on one pull.
Every time.

I've had mine for Just about 8 years. Never have had an issue with it. Matter of fact... it still is running the factory spark plug

I use opti oil only on my tools. 3 years for the weed eater and 5 years for the back pack blower. Opti only only with none Ethan gas. Best of luck!
So after starting you dont press the button right? Just keep it at full choke. And start trimming. I did it yesterday but had it half. But I see you have to keep at it at full from your vid. Also how do you trimm you keep sweeping until it gets lower. Or just go down. I have the 128xl and it does hurt your shoulder when trimming. It is heavy as well.
I run mine full choke until it starts to bog and then I open it up.

This one finally started having issues this past summer after 8 years. Not bad!
I have had mine for 10 years, only problem has been was replaced carburetor but today unfortunately the spring came popped
We are going on 6 years on ours and I finally need to do some maintenance on it. Nothing more than cleaning the fuel and air filter.
We are having trouble advancing the string. We are hitting the button on the ground, it clicks, but it doesn't advance. Any ideas?
Take it back apart, clean out any junk that may be built up on it, and rewind the string to see if it helps. That usually fixes mine.
I have one of the multi tool Huskies and they are not a patch on the original products from this company. The machine I have is not typical Husky quality, difficult to start, and constantly cuts out at idling. I am old enough to remember when any products with this brand name were top-notch. Now they sell a 'consumer' grade as opposed to their machines aimed at professional users. I have to admit the multi-tool was cheap but there is a reason for this.
Can you put the hart edger attachment on this trimmer? Or will it not fit
Most of the trimmers that have the split shaft are interchangeable. If the Hart brand is offering a attachment that is for the models that are labeled as attachment capable then it should work. I hope that helps
I have had one since 2014. Aside from a rough idle, weak low end power, and having to tune the mixture screws a bit, it does the job well and is very reliable.
Using the HUSQVARNA 128CD as an edger
I just bought the same one but mine has a diesel motor
All sounded good until you began cranking. Tip, lay it down and pull because the cord is at risk of breaking and you're not getting the full pull. I like to set mine on a sturdy platform about 2-3 feet off the ground. Hmm, looks very similar to my Poulan Pro 28cc.
What attachment brand did you get for the 128 LD model
right now we have the brush cutter, pole saw and the power sweeper. they all work great

It was tough to start, because you are using a 40:1 oil mixture. I use 50:1 and mine starts
in two pulls.
it didn't start because you prime 10 pumps... full choke.. 3 pulls, half choke...and it'll start. He started it wrong. Directions are on the label
These machines are tough and last. I use 40:1 or 50:1 mixed fuel you can get at Home Depot, Lowe’s, etc. works fine. Mine lasted 7 years so far bought used. Only replaced trimmer head, fuel tank, and pull start recoil assembly
Ours is still going strong after 9 years- We have had to do similar repairs, but that is to be expected
I love my Husqvarna combee weedeater but just to heavy if your weedeating a mile of fence line
This thing does wear me out when doing a large area.
Nowhere in the instructions does it say hold down the throttle wide open then pull

Still working fine. I run it out of gas in the fall when I'm done using it for the year. I think it has helped it not get gummed up with crud.

I run mine richer at 32:1 same mix as my dirtbike I’d rather have it smoke just a little and have to clean the carb out than have to replace piston and rings and I only buy expensive motul premix it’s 16-20 dollars for a quart
Oil and cleaning is cheaper then a motor!
I run my Husqvarna 545 chainsaw 40 to 1 but based on advice from Donyboy I plan to start using 45 to 1.
Oh yeah, I forgot to mention I use 50:1 fuel mixture.
I know that thread wars get started about brand loyalty with oils, but the stuff husky sells (and sends with this unit..) isn't as good an oil as Lucas semi synthetic air cooled premix oil. I can't help but think that a 50:1 mix of Husqvavarna's oil isn't as good for engine life. The 2.6 oz bottle of Husky's oil sloshes when you shake it. Two stroke premix oil should not slosh in that small a bottle. It has thinners or additives to make it mix better, which doesn't make it any better than your basic TCW III outboard oil which is thinned with Naptha and if it has to be used, should be mixed @ 40:1~ 35:1.
Hey man, I bought a Husqvarna 128LD Weed Whacker today i poured in the bottle of oil and put in gas like it said but it has white smoke coming out what did i do wrong
Did you use enough gas in the mix? Could just be excess oil, which isn't a big deal..
And since it's new give it a while to break in. If you added the correct amount of oil and gas let it be for a while.

Does it bog down when you're cutting or run weird? If it's just a little smoke,again, I wouldn't worry. Mine does it as well.

Is the shaft for the Husquvara 128LD adjustable for shorter people?
you can do the curved shaft but my wife who is short-( really short) uses this one. She says it is better on her back since it is longer she does not need to bend over as much. She has a should sling that helps as well
they are tough but gas hogs i can only run mine for 20 min but cuts good

I bought this Sept. 11, 2020, to replace my Echo 225-CRM. I wanted to buy another Echo, but I needed a trimmer in a hurry and this was the closest to my Echo.
Out of the many complaints against this machine, I seem to be the only one who had trouble getting the spool cap off. There are two little hooks in the line holes that help to hold the cap down. I was confused by them at first, as I'd never seen them before. I wondered whether I was supposed to snap them off. No. They were there on purpose and squeezing the release buttons disengaged them.
The first time I needed to replace the line, I couldn't get the cap off. It was very hard squeezing and holding down the release buttons. I gave up. The next day I took it to Lowe's where I'd bought it. I showed a lawn & garden clerk and he showed me how, but he it was even hard for him to do, that you just about had to be "a Hercules" in his words, and just a few days before, with the same model, he and another clerk struggled with one together and it took them a long time to get it off. I managed to get mine off today with the help of pliers.
It doesn't clearly say what size of line to use on the box or manual. My Echo used .105. I tried it on this but the place-holding notches on the spool were too small for that, so I had to use .95 But I couldn't get even that to stay in the notches. I've give up for now. When I first bought it, I naively thought it could be thread like my Echo, by just pushing line through the holes, evening up and twisting, no need to hassle with taking the cap off. Apparently not, unless I'm missing something.
The cutting head shield is about twice the size of the Echo's and gets in the way when trimming tight spaces. I plan to take mine off, but then there's the possible problem of line not being cut to length when I use the bump knob.
So far, very much a disappointment and a hassle.
I work for a landscaping company, I definitely prefer the speed feed heads that echo and shindaiwa has. You could take the speed feed off the echo and put it on the husky. Run 95 or 105, whatever you prefer. When you take the guard off and bump the line too long just buzz it down on a hard surface until it reaches full revs.

Why do people start their trimmers while holding the throttle. You know there's no need for that and the only thing it does is flood your engine? Not to mention that the more you do it the more your trimmer will need to start with throttle smh 🤦🏻♂️

There is nothing wrong with this one- Stihl are a good brand but pricey
@@FarpointFarms they are a reputable brand. Luck of the draw I realize, but I bought one brand new 5 years ago, and I swear I've spent more time working on it then I have using it. It hasn't ran well since it's first use. My Stihls on the other hand have been about as problem free as one could hope for. And I bought them all used one was a curb find
Sometimes the carbs are not tuned well from the factory- Living in higher elevations, I have learned that sometimes they need to have their little screw adjusted to make them run right
Wrong! Not all 2 cycle oil mix are the same! Synthetic or nothing. That can make a difference of 2 to 4 years of trimmer life.
I've had mine for about 6 years. Just did a complete tune up and re installed the trimmer guard and runs like new!
