'But the best part is learning from the past's mistakes and successes.' in this sentence, the expression "the past's mistake" I feel as if the past made mistake. this expression may be normal for the natives but for non-native I ( English learner only on the desk ) feel somewhat. Would there be 'any/what' difference between "the past's mistake and successes" and 'mistakes and successes in the past'.

You can definitely use "mistakes and successes in the past" as an alternative, which might be clearer for English learners. Both phrases essentially convey the same idea.
