Boy, do I miss those blue Hydros, that was my first energy drink back in the day, loved it. After it was gone I strictly drank the Javas. Wasn't until just a few years back that some gym monkeys I worked with told me to turn to some other stuff like Bang to get more caffeine and a whole lot less sugar into my diet. But seeing that bottle reminds me of my first job, young love and when summers used to seem to last a life time, hanging with my friends and getting into all kinds of goofy shenanigans. This is just pure nostalgia for me right now, thanks for letting me feel that way again for just a minute, if I hadn't already subscribed I definitely would now.

Probably alittle bit! But I medicate for a number of ailments mainly for pain management. But the Caffiene is still needed to keep up with a 2 year old and a 7 year old, I cant be too lazy! Lol

I'm able to get these at my local dollar store for a dollar a bottle, so I'm able to stack up on these when I work opening shifts at 4am. With these being made out of water, I'm able to stay up without jitters or having a caffeine rush. And because they're made of water, I assume they're healthier since they contain water which your body needs. So if anyone needs caffeine without the jitters, this is a great alternative.
Agreed, they are great...but...they are definitely more than just water. I mean, all energy drinks use water (carbonated water) as a base. I’d say this is closer to a sports drink , than water, based on ingredients. But that’s just me. Nevertheless, awesome stuff!!! Especially at a freakin dollar!👍🏻

I love the blue, purple and orange monster hydros. I usually like to mix an energy drink with a Gatorade or powerade but I figured that although Hydro is expensive it would still be cheaper to buy one of those instead of two beverages to mix. Thus Monster Hydro is my morning drink of choice.
Sounds good! And they might be a touch higher in price, but they are a larger amount of volume. Plus, I sometimes get them 2 for $5, which is a good price.
I’ve seen this at the gas station for a few years and always wondered how it is. I’ve tried Monster off and on over the years, maybe 8/10, but it’s always way to sweet. This is worth a try
I didnt have it for this review, but I LOVE the Melon Mania, so I recommend that one if you like watermelon/cataloupe/honey dew type flavors. Very melony and not too too sweet.
Hey.... Coke man here...... Manic Melon and Mean Green were originally released in a 15 oz clear plastic can. Then Monster released the other flavors in 25.4oz bottles. The first two Manic Melon and Mean Green were discontinued in the 15 oz and was introduced in the 25.4 oz bottle last week! You should be able to ask your local C-store or grocery store to get it in there for you if they carry the 25.4 oz. Stay Bleesed 👊👊👊😁

Manic Melon is my favorite flavor next to the Tropical Thunder. i was hoping that Monster would do the same when they first took away Tropical Thunder and brought it back as the 25oz bottle. now i'm gonna keep my eye out at my local QT across the street for them to bring it back.

33 grams of sugar in a drink, that most will drink while sitting on their ass, is a lot of sugar. Especially if you're drinking more than one a day. Who the hell gives their kids an "energy" drink anyway? It shouldn't be needed unless your parenting is severely lacking. But hey, why not completely fry the kids adrenals before they make it outta grade school. Probably go well with the Twinkie induced diabetes, right?
They are mean green and manic melon are usually are a small container. Mostly in Albertsons and Safeway store. But some store are discontinuing those two flavors
Monster has moved all of the Hydros ro a 25.4 oz bottle. Mean Green,Manic Melon, Zero Sugar, Blue Ice, and Purple Passion are all in 25.4 oz now. If you dont see it at you store.... ask for it!
Lol, I have the same reaction as you when I tried out the Monster Hydro Water Blue Ice flavor! It almost reminds me of Powerade Mountain Berry Blast and Gatorade Cool Blue but with caffeine in it! Although it does taste less sweet than those 2 drinks.
I’ve drank this drink three times All three times I couldn’t go to sleep. Drank it at 3pm, and couldn’t go to sleep until 3am even though I tried to fall asleep at 11pm
Do you regular drink energy drinks? The caffeine isn't excessive in these, so if you are used to caffeine, Im not sure why. If you arent used to caffeine, then I do see why.
CaffeineMan I drink energy drinks, nitro cold brews at Starbucks plus add shot. Don’t know why when I’ve drank these drinks I’ve had a hard time falling asleep.
😂 You should hear the people I work with. They look at me drinking an energy drink and say “those things must not work!” Because I’m so laid back. I tell them I need them so that I’m not a slug.

I actually always have an 8oz red bull right before all my reviews to try and get me a little more amped up....even though Im going to be drinking 4,5,6 or more for the review. They say the camera adds 5 lbs BUT it also sucks out about 50% of your energy. Dont beleive me. Watch my first 2 or 3 videos. I was trying to be more energentic in those (because I knew you were supposed too) and someone recently commented "WHy are you whispering? Are you in the bathroom?" LMAO

Mean Green and Melon come in a smaller bottle can thing. Theyre the same size as a regular monster can. So they sometimes stock them in a spot nowhere near the big hydro bottles.
In Europe Monster Hydro has vegetable oils added, I'm curious if there is in the US version. Personally I don't like because the oils make it have a slight viscous consistency, and not a great smell. I had the Tropical Thunder, can't say I enjoyed it
To the best of my knowledge, no vegetable oil. I wasnt a fan of the Tropical Thunder either. The only one I sreally liked, which wasnt in the video, is the Manic melon.
Yes, I keep it in my car...I always seem to have something in my car that needs flavoring...and caffeine. And I have Caffeine Gum in my jacket pockets. You can spot me in a crowd. Im the guy with caffeine falling out from everywhere.

Hmmmm, I’m not at home at the moment to investigate but I do that in “all” my videos. I tried these once when it first came out and thought it was disgusting. I think it was the blue ice flavor. Had to choke it down. Haven’t even glanced at them since. Good video nonetheless.

Yeah, not too much sugar, an average amount of caffeine, not too many other bad ingredients as it is mostly water. I went to a waterpark today and broguht 2 with me. Love the Manic Melon!
I actually found the Mean Green and Melon mania a few weeks ago. Apparently, they were redesigning the bottles to match the ones that are in this video. Before, they used to have have the soda tabs. Now, its a cap. Im a HUGE fan of the melon!!!

I don't think I have ever just sipped any energy drink. Half a can, container in one sitting almost every time, if not full chug mode. How do you feel about rockstar ripping off bang?
Far too many times, energy drinks have disappeared from my presence quicker than they should have been😂 but just trying to do my public service announcement. Rockstar ripping off Bang? Meh, with limited amount of “common” popular flavors, a lot of things of things may seem like rip offs. A lot of people said monster was trying to copy Bang with their sugar free flavors and, as I mentioned in my recent Red Bull review, they came out with peach and pear which are 2 popular Bang drinks. Everyone’s trying to make a buck on whatever is working. They just put their own spin on it.
I’ve had these a lot recently, these old bottles cause they are in the dollar tree now, manic melon was definitely the best one, tropical thunder just hits different tho, idk what it is but I like that one a lot too, but they don’t taste like Powerade to me, I hate Powerade but it could have Powerade in it and I’m just fooled by that monster logo, zero sugar one was really sweet with a poison after taste I was like HUH and purple is just ok

At the time of making this video, they were repackaging those two flavors. They used to have a can-like top with a tab and they were switching over to the twist tops. Now, they are everywhere! AND its so weird that you commented on this video because, no word of a lie, after not having a Monster Hydro for about a month, I picked one up TODAY! It was so delicious. I scolded myself for not having one sooner.... but there are soooooo many good energy drinks out there!
I was happy about these too until I tasted how bland they are. I'm totally up for zero sugar and less carbonation but it could have a little more kick in flavor
Yeah, they definitely arent strong in flavor. So if you're used to the typical Monster drinks, they don't compare. But as a sports drink/flavored water, I think they were in decent competition to whats out there. Have you found a good flavored caffeinated water? Ive tried Avitae and Hint.

Hmmmm... you know, now that I think about it, I can agree a little. I don't like grapefruit, mostly because of the high acidity, but I can remember a hnt of grapefruity-ness. Thanks!
Unfortunately, thats not true. Only extreme high amounts of sugar (with an increase in blood sugar) will potentially dehydrate you. Caffeine is a diuretic, which is different from dehydration. The diuretic causes you to urinate more, which some people say dehydates you, but it is off balanced by the actual liquid you are ingesting. Over the past 6-8 years more studies have been done on caffeine on coffee, tea and sports drinks, to show that the caffeine does not dehydrate. Here is a quote from an article in 2011 from WedM.D. "Juices and sports drinks are also hydrating -- you can lower the sugar content by diluting them with water. Coffee and tea also count in your tally. Many used to believe that they were dehydrating, but that myth has been debunked. The diuretic effect does not offset hydration."
Full throttle is owned by monster. Coke have the rights to nos and full throttle to monster a few years ago for the right to distribute Hansen's beverage items like peace tea.

Noooo, no, no. I don’t recommend that. 1)caffeine is very bitter and tastes disgusting! 2) caffeine “powder” is extremely dangerous. There are plenty of caffeine waters in the market that do a good job with it like avitae, hint and water joe. Check out my videos in caffeinated water if interested!
How about getting off the caffeine all together? People seriously use it as a crutch. Yeah it can give you a little boost, but the way 99.9% of people consume it, it's just causing adrenal fatigue. On top of a host of other issues. I wasn't even a hardcore consumer, did maybe two three cups of coffee a day and a shot of pre-workout before the gym. Go figure, I cut it all out and I have way more energy, all the time.
poor form to be drinking red bull in a monster video. The only red bull I like is the one you drank at the end. I also don't get why red bull doesn't have no sugar for that berry one. Reign is really good and made by monster.
I can be known for my poor form in exchange for a potentially humorous moment in the video. LOL! They recently came out with a Sugar free coconut berry red bull. A lot of people like it, but its just not the same for me. Its actually their only flavored sugar free option at the moment.
Wellllll, be careful not to say owned. I’ve been corrected on that. It’s more of a partnership, as coke bought 16%. I specified 16% in the video, but I also said they owned them which isn’t accurate.
I do that occasionally but the problem is throughout the country, and different countries, it’s rare that we have the same stores. I guess it depends on where you live. Although for these monster hydros, they should be at most convenience stores. Thanks for watching!
Just had my first Monster Hydro, blue ice flavor. I won’t ever buy one again, tastes like a watered down blue freeze pop with that cheap sugar, cheap flavoring and taurine taste. It’s like a crappy kids drink and it’s not even cheap. I will definitely stick with BodyArmor drinks. They are far superior in every way,
Yeah, they tended to be hit or miss for me, even the new Super Sport Hydros they came out with. The only one I ever repurchased was the Melon Manic, which I didnt even have for this review.

In germany we only have 3 flavors from the hydro line, we have the tropical, but also a red one and a green one.
The red is the melon and it’s my favorite!!! Didn’t have it for this review but found it after.

The zero sugar one is for all the soccer moms who freak out if their kids have any sugar. That’s probably why they named it that

33 grams of sugar in a drink, that most will drink while sitting on their ass, is a lot of sugar. Especially if you're drinking more than one a day.
Who the hell gives their kids an "energy" drink anyway? It shouldn't be needed unless your parenting is severely lacking.
But hey, why not completely fry the kids adrenals before they make it outta grade school. Probably go well with the Twinkie induced diabetes, right?
They are mean green and manic melon are usually are a small container. Mostly in Albertsons and Safeway store. But some store are discontinuing those two flavors
Monster has moved all of the Hydros ro a 25.4 oz bottle. Mean Green,Manic Melon, Zero Sugar, Blue Ice, and Purple Passion are all in 25.4 oz now. If you dont see it at you store.... ask for it!

Lol, I have the same reaction as you when I tried out the Monster Hydro Water Blue Ice flavor! It almost reminds me of Powerade Mountain Berry Blast and Gatorade Cool Blue but with caffeine in it! Although it does taste less sweet than those 2 drinks.

I’ve drank this drink three times
All three times I couldn’t go to sleep.
Drank it at 3pm, and couldn’t go to sleep until 3am even though I tried to fall asleep at 11pm
Do you regular drink energy drinks? The caffeine isn't excessive in these, so if you are used to caffeine, Im not sure why. If you arent used to caffeine, then I do see why.

I actually always have an 8oz red bull right before all my reviews to try and get me a little more amped up....even though Im going to be drinking 4,5,6 or more for the review. They say the camera adds 5 lbs BUT it also sucks out about 50% of your energy. Dont beleive me. Watch my first 2 or 3 videos. I was trying to be more energentic in those (because I knew you were supposed too) and someone recently commented "WHy are you whispering? Are you in the bathroom?" LMAO
I do the 50 Mile to 100 Mile races, these are one of go-too beverages during my races.

Just tried one 2 weeks ago and love them they remind me of otter pops. Done like the 0 sugar one. Have had all 4 others the flavors u review bad thing is there a little $$
Yeah, but they are also bigger than all the other drinks too, so hopefully you get what you pay for. A refreshing, good tasing, caffeine sports drinks! Yum!
I think they've since discontinued these, the store I worked at they sat on the shelf literally collecting dust for months

Mean Green and Melon come in a smaller bottle can thing. Theyre the same size as a regular monster can. So they sometimes stock them in a spot nowhere near the big hydro bottles.

In Europe Monster Hydro has vegetable oils added, I'm curious if there is in the US version. Personally I don't like because the oils make it have a slight viscous consistency, and not a great smell. I had the Tropical Thunder, can't say I enjoyed it
To the best of my knowledge, no vegetable oil. I wasnt a fan of the Tropical Thunder either. The only one I sreally liked, which wasnt in the video, is the Manic melon.

Have you ever tried the cafinated mio drops? You just add to water. I like it cuz its cheap and makes alot of drinks, and 0 sugar.
Yes, I keep it in my car...I always seem to have something in my car that needs flavoring...and caffeine. And I have Caffeine Gum in my jacket pockets. You can spot me in a crowd. Im the guy with caffeine falling out from everywhere.

Hmmmm, I’m not at home at the moment to investigate but I do that in “all” my videos. I tried these once when it first came out and thought it was disgusting. I think it was the blue ice flavor. Had to choke it down. Haven’t even glanced at them since. Good video nonetheless.

Yeah, not too much sugar, an average amount of caffeine, not too many other bad ingredients as it is mostly water. I went to a waterpark today and broguht 2 with me. Love the Manic Melon!

I actually found the Mean Green and Melon mania a few weeks ago. Apparently, they were redesigning the bottles to match the ones that are in this video. Before, they used to have have the soda tabs. Now, its a cap. Im a HUGE fan of the melon!!!

Far too many times, energy drinks have disappeared from my presence quicker than they should have been😂 but just trying to do my public service announcement. Rockstar ripping off Bang? Meh, with limited amount of “common” popular flavors, a lot of things of things may seem like rip offs. A lot of people said monster was trying to copy Bang with their sugar free flavors and, as I mentioned in my recent Red Bull review, they came out with peach and pear which are 2 popular Bang drinks. Everyone’s trying to make a buck on whatever is working. They just put their own spin on it.
@@CaffeineMan1 they have released a 300mg caffeine with zero sugar and everything. It does have a bunch of sodium in it though.

I’ve had these a lot recently, these old bottles cause they are in the dollar tree now, manic melon was definitely the best one, tropical thunder just hits different tho, idk what it is but I like that one a lot too, but they don’t taste like Powerade to me, I hate Powerade but it could have Powerade in it and I’m just fooled by that monster logo, zero sugar one was really sweet with a poison after taste I was like HUH and purple is just ok

At the time of making this video, they were repackaging those two flavors. They used to have a can-like top with a tab and they were switching over to the twist tops. Now, they are everywhere! AND its so weird that you commented on this video because, no word of a lie, after not having a Monster Hydro for about a month, I picked one up TODAY! It was so delicious. I scolded myself for not having one sooner.... but there are soooooo many good energy drinks out there!

I was happy about these too until I tasted how bland they are. I'm totally up for zero sugar and less carbonation but it could have a little more kick in flavor
Yeah, they definitely arent strong in flavor. So if you're used to the typical Monster drinks, they don't compare. But as a sports drink/flavored water, I think they were in decent competition to whats out there. Have you found a good flavored caffeinated water? Ive tried Avitae and Hint.

If it has sugar and caffeine in it then it's not going to hydrate you, it's going to dehydrate you.
Unfortunately, thats not true. Only extreme high amounts of sugar (with an increase in blood sugar) will potentially dehydrate you. Caffeine is a diuretic, which is different from dehydration. The diuretic causes you to urinate more, which some people say dehydates you, but it is off balanced by the actual liquid you are ingesting. Over the past 6-8 years more studies have been done on caffeine on coffee, tea and sports drinks, to show that the caffeine does not dehydrate. Here is a quote from an article in 2011 from WedM.D. "Juices and sports drinks are also hydrating -- you can lower the sugar content by diluting them with water. Coffee and tea also count in your tally. Many used to believe that they were dehydrating, but that myth has been debunked. The diuretic effect does not offset hydration."

Noooo, no, no. I don’t recommend that. 1)caffeine is very bitter and tastes disgusting! 2) caffeine “powder” is extremely dangerous. There are plenty of caffeine waters in the market that do a good job with it like avitae, hint and water joe. Check out my videos in caffeinated water if interested!

People seriously use it as a crutch. Yeah it can give you a little boost, but the way 99.9% of people consume it, it's just causing adrenal fatigue. On top of a host of other issues.
I wasn't even a hardcore consumer, did maybe two three cups of coffee a day and a shot of pre-workout before the gym.
Go figure, I cut it all out and I have way more energy, all the time.
poor form to be drinking red bull in a monster video. The only red bull I like is the one you drank at the end. I also don't get why red bull doesn't have no sugar for that berry one. Reign is really good and made by monster.
I can be known for my poor form in exchange for a potentially humorous moment in the video. LOL! They recently came out with a Sugar free coconut berry red bull. A lot of people like it, but its just not the same for me. Its actually their only flavored sugar free option at the moment.

Wellllll, be careful not to say owned. I’ve been corrected on that. It’s more of a partnership, as coke bought 16%. I specified 16% in the video, but I also said they owned them which isn’t accurate.

I do that occasionally but the problem is throughout the country, and different countries, it’s rare that we have the same stores. I guess it depends on where you live. Although for these monster hydros, they should be at most convenience stores. Thanks for watching!

Just had my first Monster Hydro, blue ice flavor. I won’t ever buy one again, tastes like a watered down blue freeze pop with that cheap sugar, cheap flavoring and taurine taste. It’s like a crappy kids drink and it’s not even cheap. I will definitely stick with BodyArmor drinks. They are far superior in every way,

Yeah, they tended to be hit or miss for me, even the new Super Sport Hydros they came out with. The only one I ever repurchased was the Melon Manic, which I didnt even have for this review.
