      What abot km range?

    • @KlodFather
      @KlodFather 3 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      depends on your antenna and the height above the ground. Good antenna and on a big enough hill you can go 100 km with this. On your house with a shitty quarter wave like on ebay, you might get 15 km in the city.

  • @totoytv2200
    @totoytv2200 4 ปีที่แล้ว +1

    How many kilometer range sir

    • @LifeIsTooShortForQRP
      @LifeIsTooShortForQRP  4 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      That highly depends on the used antenna and the height of the antenna. A simple half-wave antenna at the roof of a two-story house will get 10 to 15 km range. But if you use a 4-element omnidirectional colinear antenna (having about 10 dBi gain) om a 40 meter tower without obstructing buildings around it, it will be 60 km or more. Hope this helps. Cheers.

    And the antenna ?

  • @massv953
    @massv953 8 ปีที่แล้ว

    How far does the signal reach? Could this be used in a small town to setup a local radio station?

    • @LifeIsTooShortForQRP
      @LifeIsTooShortForQRP  7 ปีที่แล้ว

      Should reach about 30 miles for reception at broadcast quality but that assumes you would have it connected to a multi-array collinear antenna at sufficient height ( 40 ft at least) to get that performance. With just a simple (cheap) quarter wave ground plane antenna, you are lucky to get 5 to 10 miles. So the antenna is really the secret here. en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Collinear_antenna_array

    • @DjSmoothNY
      @DjSmoothNY 4 ปีที่แล้ว

      Do you still have this unit? Would a 5/8 wavelength antenna give you more distance than 5 -10 miles with a cheaper antenna?

    • @KlodFather
      @KlodFather 3 ปีที่แล้ว

      @@DjSmoothNY - What you should do is build a J-Pole antenna out of 1 inch copper pipe. There are things on the internet on how to calculate one out for FM broadcast. THey are very flat in response and will handle high power as well as have incredible gain on vertical. The transmit angle of a quarter wave puts most of the power into the sky. A J-Pole will put most of the power along a horizontal axis and be vertically polarized.

    How can i know if this Unit is FCC certified?

    • @LifeIsTooShortForQRP
      @LifeIsTooShortForQRP  7 ปีที่แล้ว

      In terms of RF performance (modulation, harmonics, spurious, frequency stability and so on), it meets and exceeds all FCC requirements. If Tuigicom actually has submitted it for an FCC certification I do not know, you would have to talk to the manufacturer for that.

    I really dont understand why You compare Chinese transmitters with this one? Its non-sense cause that Chinese cost 50 box ant that Tugicom cost God-only-knows how much.

      I say buy a bunch of cheap CZH's. Lower your power, but be near your audience. That's you're "best" sound! The trick is, coordinating audio between transmitters! NOW WE'RE COOKING BABY!!

    • @LifeIsTooShortForQRP
      @LifeIsTooShortForQRP  7 ปีที่แล้ว +2

      You can't compare a cheap Chinese rice box to a broadcast quality transmitter that has the whole exciter and encoder part done in the digital domain through a DSP based design. Actually, considering the quality of build and modulation, this transmitter is cheap - a commercial FM broadcast exciter/speech processor would set you back ten thousand dollars at a minimum, and the signal quality of such a unit might actually be inferior to this one.

    • @marzsit9833
      @marzsit9833 6 ปีที่แล้ว

      @@LifeIsTooShortForQRP totally agree, the tugicom exciters are a bargain for a pro-quality unit. i wish they made one that produces 0-50 watts adjustable down to the milliwatt range.

    Far too expensive to be considered a pirate transmitter. Too much to lose. You can get just as good results and just as clean signal with something a fraction of the cost of this. If it's not approved for legal use, then what is the point of it?

    You boast about how good this is, yet the power meter isn't even accurate.

    • @marzsit9833
      @marzsit9833 6 ปีที่แล้ว

      the power meter reads wierd because the transmitter is connected to a dummy load. when connected to an antenna the power meter is accurate.

      The power meter is right on the nose at 300 watts just as he says. If you have never used a bird meter, then yes it would look weird to you. The slugs used have a freq range and also a multiplier that has to be taken into account. But be sure that bird read it at 300 watts and that is what the display on the unit said.
