And as the days turned into weeks, the manticore's spirit began to wither, its once fierce and proud demeanor replaced by a sense of hopelessness and despair. It was a cruel fate for such a magnificent creature, to be left to languish in captivity while the world outside moved on without it. And so the manticore's heart grew heavy with sorrow, knowing that it may never again feel the sun on its back or the wind in its mane.
