DCUO: NEW ARTIFACTS! Are they OP?

- Taking a look at 3 new artifacts (Tank, Troll, DPS) that will be coming in a future Game Update 103 and giving my initial impressions of them. More videos to come not only for these artifacts but also the rest of the game changes taking place in GU:103 Enjoy.

The drawback of the Tank Artifact is that the moment you pop soder the defense from it is instantly gone,it does not keep your defense at lets say 130k for like 10 seconds. Or if you have a good healer that keeps your health at 100% always,you will not benefit from the tank artifact at all because you never reach 30% health,maby on rare occasion you do but then you are having a bad healer or either will die anyway :D It would be a great artifact if the defense bonus lasted lets say 10 - 12 seconds. Or if the artifact was switched around to reward you with defense at 100% health like - 100% health = 12% max health converted to defense / 75% health = 9% converted / 50% health = 6% converted and last i guess 30% health = 3% converted. Would make it a great artifact. Nice video btw :)
It will be an entirely situational artifact that will shine in certain fights, say like the COTE LB or even PCE 1st Boss where you have constant damage and despite having 1 or 2 healers your health will dip enough that your overall damage reduction will be beneficial. The refractor has lost some of its luster, even at 200 it's not that strong of a buff, just better than others. Not all tanks run a supercharge for gemini but some prefer it where the +5% stats and sc regen will be a good 3rd option. Manacles is still a Lock and for 90% of content Mystic at 160+ is very high option. The rest will basically be players choice I feel. It won't be an "OP" artifact by any means but can be useful.
Source shard artifact,remind me a build you can play on Diablo 3 on Witch Doctor class: a build around pets,that's pretty funny. 10% chance is meh,means to force the player to basically spam abilities to try proc the CDR reset,so definitely not the best as prec. BOP can be intresting as Battle Troll only and i think for specific setup of the group: most of the time,if you play with other supports who are not familiar with the power using (ex: an healer that's going for panic healing) can be really bad,because not able to give enough power. Also the concept behind a single skill that's going to apply all debuffs,it mean less skill using from the loadout = less SC regeneration. Everyman prototype? mmmm..As main tank i don't wanna leave my lovely EoG but that's really good for a Fire/Atomic tank,it's not worth for other tank powersets. For sure we need to test more,but those are my impressions at the moment. Like Chillerino said,the real test will be more oriented on the new content. Good job like ever dear.

Extremely informative, I have a second atomic tank toon and I was thinking it might be useful, I like how mystic really works with it.
The pet artifact looks cool... Could be the new fotm for ice prec using snow devil&grim combo. I guess it could also be good for prec hand blaster aoe solar flame or hb&bow mastery clipped into 1 might power like striking stones, throwing knifes, rumble crush or maybe ice boulder strike but I doubt it since it looks like the weapon combos are still broken lol and there aren't really many 1.5s might powers that can net you more dmg than full prec or full might fotms. To me it looks like a survival mode artifact if anything in later rounds lol. I quit the game but kinda miss people so just just swang by to see what's new and glad to hear familiar voices. Keep up the good work!
does source shard work with Grimorium?
The worst thing just happened to me I was lvling a new toon I made yesterday but I got the strategist yesterday on him forgetting the next day was BoP release and I had 57 source marks so I had to go to John Constantine use 25 source marks to get the transformation then I got it to 39 I bought 2 dinoesium and had 1 blue energy thing shared from another toon the success chance was 95% and I didn’t use a preservation so I tried ranking it but the 5% chance happened and it failed, 5%! 39 source marks wasted 😭
Everyman also has synergy with Mystic 7 in the resto stats it’s giving. Fire tanks finally have three artifacts giving resto and other tanks powers will benefit dumping the refractor for the Everyman due to increased Mystic 7 heals and strengthened shields.
Wait so what 3 Artifacts would you suggest for Fire Tanks? I see Mystic and now Everyman. What is your recommended 3rd?

Nerdy question here; Your health is 144,196 and starting defense is 80,566. First "hit" from the artifact gives you a 4% of you health bump to defense. 4% of 144K is 5,767. However, your defense jumps 11,524 up to 92,090. The I thought to myself maybe he's getting the mutipliers on top of the base, so 10% for the neck mod and 50% for being a rage tank. So 5,767 * 1.6 = 9,227. Closer, but still 2,300K away for the bonus you got. Also same effect for the second level (144K*9% = 12,978*1.6 = 20,746; however, your bump is 25,944). Is there some aspect of "max health" I'm not thinking of? I ask because I'm debating on leveling up the Mystic or this new artifact and trying to figure out where the best bang for my buck is (fire tank). (and yes, I realize both may be an option, but I really like using the soul cloak / Gemini endless green circle combo;)
I didn't want to post this in the forums, but I feel like BOP Commlink and Source Shard are meant more for people with low SP.
I could easily see earth becoming a prec power now with crystal as pet damage
Itz Cyn prec dps is not gonna ideal for new content due to the mechanics in boss fights
Do you think the everyman could work with a Celes battle heal running Sacrifice ? Or would the defense be to low
First Theory don’t even run with celestial at all

they have said they aren't going to ever have a 4th slot but im sure it could always change in the future, but certainly not in the near future.

Most likely to question 1, and the Devs said for now 200 is final cap for antifats even new o as made

it certainly can, you'd want to ideally be a powerset like ice prec which can use the grim for the PI so you have RSK and Grim + if you are 200 a 3rd pet.
So you think Everyman would benefit Ice? I thought the stats wouldn't hurt but the purpose of the artifact wouldn't help much over something like Mystic Symbol.
Dumping an artifact that gives Dom and Prec (Dillustel Refractor) for an artifact that gives Dom and Resto will strengthen Ice’s shields. And while ice doesn’t benefit from defense or the mystic 7 healbacks as much as other powers, it still benefits some and replacing the Refractor with Everyman will boost both.

@ObsidianChillDCUO when I was on test server my pet robot side kick or seahorses they were doing at least 30-40k when I use the artifact

no, you are better off getting Circe's Mask which is a newer artifact
Does the damage from the source shard affect the damage of the snake turret?
it will not, any of the turret trinkets like snake and anti monitor etc will not be buffed
idk if it makes a difference but u had only 2 artifacts for the pre mystic example and dident show how much it gained by having 3 arts so maybe there is a small number issue there but im sure over all mystics is the better option haha sorry just wanted to point that out, awesome videos as usual!
I mentioned it in the vid where my base health would be higher by about 10k with the extra artifact but that will only end up amounting to about 2-3k def where my final total with mystic was about 15k+ extra defense. The mystic paring will depend on the circumstances but definitely in heavy add fights or boss with alot of adds you will see the difference running that combo over say like eye of the gemini or refractor

yes
So if I use the Roa and BOP and apply 3 debuffs to multiple enemies and use charged shuriken will I get back more power or is it only damage to a single target
as long as you hit an enemy that is debuffed with 3 you'll get power return, it doesn't increase if you hit multiple ones. It's just easier than with Amulet because you'd have to make sure to target lock and hit the same add/boss always to get power until you hit birds blitz again after 6s

@@traesnyder8259 if the power regen is increased it will definitely make this worthwhile but it entirely depends on how you play as a troll, do you want to buff/battle or normal troll with amulet-scrap-parasite etc

So basically only Fire and Rage will benefit most from this artifact. Earth and Ice not so much.
Actually no, as a fire tank, my health rarely drops below 60% for more than 5 seconds. I'm sticking with My artifacts thanks

...iuse that..too for my fire tank...the new tank artifact is working like a dream for my fire tank ibeen powering groups through all kinds of lag spikes in FBE...

only 1 target but with the amulet it would be multi targets depending on the rank of amulet

@@theheckler5878 It certainly would, if you didn't have the claw etc or didn't want to battle troll you will get all the buffs from the parasite right when you use birds blitz because of the 3 debuffs.

You’d be losing out on a lot of resto by dumping the manacles instead of the refractor.

Dashing PE Yes but if that’s beneficial, why wouldn’t you be doing that already? The point is, by swapping out Manacles, you’re gaining 1% resto and losing 1% Dom. But if you swapped out the Refractor, your gain 4% resto and lose 1% Dom and 3% precision. That’s a better swap if you ask me.
The new artifact is no good for fire tanks
Since we are a self healer tank, our health rarely drops below 60%, so we won't be able yo profit much out of it.
I don't even like the menacles, but it depends on your playstyle
@@albertocuevas3811 Try running end game elites, fire tanks still fluctuate health a lot. Even with over 400sp; your health is still dipping a lot, Especially on large sets of adds. Even if you spec full resto, or you split with dominance, fire still has the largest health dips; and its not even close.
I am disappointed in the new troll artifact was hoping it would make it to wear you would finally be able to use claw in pugs
Jeremiah Williams if Batuba increased the power return by 2x it could be viable for pugs, right now at 200 the power return is still less than a pot tick

now that the test server is back I can work on it again, if I was home due to covid-19 it would be quicker :D but I still have to work. I plan to have it out after the test server stuff

@@Ludogg0 on the nature guide? I still have to do the pet update video, source shard testing video, tank update video before I do the nature one. You'll be surprised how nothing has really changed with nature, the best nature dps in the entire game use the exact same rotations as my video from 2018 unless they are using a cheesy roar or wolf in healer stance rotation.

Is soap cloak actually useful at 200?
for earth, elec, rage and 50/50 for nature, celestial, the rest no. But when you are a power that focuses on a supercharge like the above it definitely is worth it at 200. Also doubles to help your support role too.
ObsidianChillDCUO so for a dps that uses 2 super chargers soal cloak would be good? I hope so, Bc usually using a Sc regen it’ll take 1-2mim to build sc. I hope cloak 200 would reduce that A LOTTTTT
@@kungfootmaster soul cloak vs no soul clock you'll see a big impact, if you are using 2 supercharges back to back you wouldn't get the regen at 200 for both just the 1st one.
ObsidianChillDCUO if you can make a video using soal cloak and 2 supercharges at once and go all out on sparring targets damage would be crazy

Seems like they aren't worth it unless they are 200. And the tank 1 not so much for earth or ice.

@@Illumin411 shields dont go off your defensive. So for earth and ice with there shields there health doesn't drop as much like fire,atomic or rage.
DCUO Shadow002 no but resto factors in. I should say I made that comment thinking about tanks who run Manacles, Mystic 7 and Refractor. If you’re currently running EoG instead of Refractor and that’s what you would consider replacing, there isn’t a boost to shields or Mystic 7 heals. You’d get roughly 10K in health but like you said, that’s not really useful for Ice or Earth.

Hands-down that was the most disappointing tank artifact they have ever put out. It’s honestly not even worth the money
it's more passive helpfulness as a tank than something you would readily depend on. It's bonus is greater than the Refractor but not better than Manacles or Mystic (unless single target encounter). It will depend on a tanks playstyle and the raid encounter but I don't feel its an artifact we have to race to get to 200.
ObsidianChillDCUO I’d rather have the legionnaires sparring AI. At least that one has a constant reliable effect unlike this bottom feeding mutation that they’re trying to pass off as the next Jesus. The only thing this artifacts good for is leveling to 20 to get the feat then throwing away.

@@nwo4L i know it broke 7 of my protection seals those cost 200 loyalty points per 4 after 7 times i bought a completion that cost 450 mp cash or 500 loyalty cash if you ask me the breakthru part is bullshit and a big part of the moneygrab getting sourcemarks on level 276 is hard enoughe
I went through 11 preserve seals on a 140 art. Had to buy a completion.

city soda lvl 8; went through 12 preservations before i realised it shows the success rate after you have all the catalysts, it was 10%. bought a completion.
