This is certified hood classic
This man, along with a few others, are along my list of HEROES.
I SALUTE this man.
Let me guess he is between Pol Pot and Albert Speer.
I was wondering when this was going to be mentioned
Corruption infects all, even a good man like Marvin Heemeyer. Turned him from a good man to someone who felt the Killdozer was needed and people who had nothing to do with the feud got hurt. No one can blame him for being angry, frustrated, but a line was crossed when he attacked more then just the people who harmed him.
That's why he's both hero and villain
Reasonable villains are just heroes who were damaged enough to be forced to abandon their own morals. Marvin was a hero no doubt
AGREED. Marv was NOT a hero at all however. as a Hero does not Harm Good innocent people who have HAD NOTHING AT ALL to do with the stuff which did not go So well for/with him. Besides, Marv easily could have avoided a LOT Of this. Like, He had a HUGE Amount of money. and the City/State, (Whatever) was willing to Pay him MORE Money. He could have Moved anywhere else and set up a Whole another Shop. But he Didnt and Was being all aggressive and paranoid. Marv, was Not a Hero. a Hero does not put Innocent Lives in Danger Just cause he did not get what he wants.
"If you want something done you got to do it yourself"-Sebastian the little mermaid

Been waiting for this one. Sweet!
I remember hearing the story. I’m glad the man never heard anybody, but I am super glad he stood up, especially with the scumbag that destroyed his business making it hard to get back-and-forth to his own shop. The man literally choked him out of business. Sad truth we get too many of these pieces of garbage That would rather put you out of business and work with you harass you about your lawn or a technicality it’s like they get a sick joy off of seeing miserable people.
One tidbit that was left out of this video is that in the months leading up to the rampage, Hemeyer's personal life was coming down all around him along with his professional life. His father died, and he caught his fiancee cheating on him.
Everyone has a breaking point
Hemeyer never had a fiancee as he never got married or had children, as for his father dying well that's a bit more unknown he went on his rampage because the town's officals were constantly ruining his life as well as his business
@@kaiserl4"never had a fiancee cause he never married".... "caught his fiancee cheating on him"

@@cameron8679 im pretty sure he never got anywhere close to being married, he had a girlfriend in the town but he didnt propose to her, in one of his tapes that he recorded he literally said "It was God's plan that he never marry or have a family" so why would he have a fiancee?
@@kaiserl4hey you do realize gods plan to not have a family or kids can be said after proposing and breaking up right? 🫠
Happy anniversary! Killdozer!
Obviously Marvin did terrible things but the facts are that the town board and many of the owners of the important businesses including construction screwed him over a lot and tried to mess with him. Eventually he had enough of the unfair treatment
While I don't approve of what Marvin did, you can't deny it he was VERY REASONABLE, in his demands. He even offered to build a new road all on his own, with his own money. But no, that's not enough!
@@landonvargo5164 I didn’t even know that part, about him offering to do it himself.

Probably a javelin anti-tank missile or a agm hellfire missile from something like an Apache attack helicopter
A Bradley armored fighting vehicle with a tow missile probably could have also worked but I don't know if the Bradley was around then and even if it was I don't know if it was fitted with tow missiles

Before this happened, There was a Killdozer! 1974 made for TV science-fiction horror movie, adapted from a 1944 novella of the same name by Theodore Sturgeon. Clint Walker stars. I loved watching it in the 70s as a kid and thought of that film when this happened thinking Holy $hit! lol. Thanks for the video!!
5:38 - Oh my!
They took too much from him. The city is crooked and took advantage of him because the board had personal issues.
He was someone that had all he could take and felt he was left with no other options. The town worked against him with no way of him solving things.
The reasonable man had enough of so much corruption…
Dude is a legend
This guy is a true hero. These small city counsel members are so ruthless. About time someone stood up against them.
I am not American, but I consider Heeymeyer a hero. Still, I can see Simple History mostly portraying him as a lunatic. As he said, he became unreasonable after he didn´t see any way out. I am unsubsribing from the Simple History because of this. I feel they dishonor this amazing man. I don´t want more people to unsubsribe, only if they feel same shame as me.
Not to play Devils advocate, but that's how he made it into the history books, with the help of a dumb news paper journalist. Not exactly his fault for following the history books.
Correct title:
Man who was screwed over by town gets retribution with homemade tank
Wish Simple History would make videos about topics prior to the 1900s more often and even if I have already heard about this story I’m not complaining visuals are still great
My hero finally got attention
Absolute legend
Truly the most insane local town rampage of the century. Killdozer was absolutely unreal 😧
Got to agree with the citizens and lore lodge that it was the group of friends city council.
The most dangerous creation of society is someone with nothing left to lose.

Humans are extremely dangerous when you take away everything they've loved and built.
He said he had to done unreasonable thing. But from my POV.
“Unresonable thing look even more reasonable especially when you called out for Justice that been take away & been corrupted by Injustice.”
Just think of how much more damage he could've caused had he not gotten stuck. Either the town would've been leveled or they would've had to call in the army to stop him.
He was only going after the people who wronged him.
The amount of corruption that was in that city council is amazing and it’s amazing none of the city council was held accountable
why couldn't take the $250K and move his shop to a new location? I'll never understand that
Because why would he take a net loss when his bussiness cost more than that?
If I told you to demolish your house, because it's in the way of a new highway, would you accept if I offered you 50 bucks and a 6 pack of beer?
@@The_Real_Alpharius No. but considering my house is worth $195K, and the city is offering me $275K to move, I'd consider that a win and take the offer an buy a similar price house and use the rest to move (I live in a low cost of living area)
