This is by far the most intense scene for me.... When Boyd shoots Calhoun, the shock in his face when Calhoun gets back up and he first realizes holy shit this guy is supernatural. I mean he jumped off a massive cliff to get away from him.
1:22 and that violin fading as he falls down to then pick up again as he gets up at 1:48. This soundtrack is great on it's own but it compliments the movie perfectly making it a masterpiece in my opinion
Criminally underrated movie 🎥 Robert Carlyle is on top form (as always) he's on a par with Gene Hackman, might have been in a few bad films but always brought their A game to the table, legendary actors both of them.
1:45 *Colquhoun sits up after being shot, laughing as he smiles at Boyd with evil intent* *Boyd nervously attempts to move to the left side of the cliff, but Colquhoun gets up and blocks his path* *Colquhoun and Boyd move from side to side, as Colquhoun snarls at Boyd* Colquhoun: "Come here!" *Boyd tries to rush to the right, but is blocked again, causing him to throw his rifle at Colquhoun in frustration* Boyd: "Get away from me!" *Colquhoun laughs* Boyd: "GET AWAY FROM ME!!" *Boyd looks back at the cliff edge, realizing he's boxed in with no way out* *Colquhoun inches closer and closer as Boyd considers his options* *Boyd stares fearfully at Colquhoun while pondering, before hastily turning to run towards and off the cliff, surprising Colquhoun* *Boyd falls towards the ground, bracing for the impact of the incoming tree tops* Boyd: " *WHOAAA!!-* " *Boyd hits the tree, crashing down through the branches painfully until he reaches the ground* *Boyd begins to tumble down the steep hillside, until he crashes into a mortally wounded Reich, and the two then continue rolling until Boyd reaches a hidden pit under fallen branches of pine*
*Reich falls halfway into the pit, hanging upside down above Boyd and dripping blood on him. Suddenly, out of reflex, Reich begins strangling Boyd, before succumbing to his wounds and falling all the way into the pit*
"I found your Private Reich up there... or what was left of him. You didn't finish! Well, I can't blame you; he was tough. [snorts] But then, a good soldier ought to be." 10/10 writing
Just my guess: The lead instrument seems to be a violin (although it doesn't sound as squeaky as you'd normally expect), rhythm section consists of drums, shakers and a picked double bass, the background comes from a string section.
one of my favorite scores

The composers can be quirky and sarcastic when they want to, but here they're on full badass mode.
Great track, great score, great movie! I adore it!
I love how Robert Carlyle looked like some ferocious, rabid animal in this scene.
I LOVE the violin, it goes so hard! 10/10!!!!
Very scary almost tribal like music I really like how they utilize Native American Instruments
couldve been boss music for a video game
this entire soundtrack was just so different and awesome. every fucking song.
So true. Same thoughts for a long, long time... love it!
Was thinking the same thing

@Ben Cooper Sure is my friend.

You forgot Colqhoun's growls as he approximates Boyd. Listen carefully.

A masterpiece
This was my favorite scene. It was definitely a character study on fight or flight. Very suspenful.
This movie needs a 4k the way Scream handled the bluray was criminal.
Truly exciting.
The BEST theme of this BSO and film congratulations thanks
Honestly reminded me of the music for the battle with Baldur in God of War. Also Jeremy Davies come to think of it.
This music is mindblowing! Reminds me of Kratos from God Of War for some weird reason.
Movie is amazing too.
Salud everyone.
