I have been searching for such gears for years without being able to see or try them out to compare and they aren't cheap but your experience speaks cleart, no bs, and your choices are just perfect for me.. I had a client, who previously worked in Hollywood, tell me my light stands were flimsy. We did the shoot (interview) at her location, she loved the result. Never heard another word about my light stands. I'm with you 100%, Markus.
I ended up buying one of these tripods last year (after watching this video) replacing the top part with a compact fluid head and have been using it extensively for all of my studio and travel work for my TH-cam channel over the last year. My camera and lens weighs about 1200g combined and it’s been holding up beautifully. I was skeptical of the leg locking mechanism and its ability to hold up over time, but after a full year of use it’s still as good as the day I bought it. Thank you for featuring this tripod, because I would have never known that there was a better leg locking mechanism than the old latching or twist locking mechanisms that require a lot more operations to unpack.
One note, when I first got it I was really wrenching down on it to lock the legs, but eventually figured out i don’t need to do that. Just a little twist and they stay in place very well. It can handle more weight if you really crank on the legs, but really a tripod never sees much more than 10N of loading, and when you overload these legs they just kind of slip a little, but hold there position well enough that it’s not going to cause the whole rig to collapse.
no clue who you are but have spent last 12 days trying to find a tripod for my daughter...never heard of fotopro but i think of the 20 tripods i've looked at I may have to pull the trigger if I can find a deal...thank you for actually being real!
Great vid. Love your presentation style. This was really helpful. Looking for a lightweight travel tripod and assumed PD was the only real option. Realise now that the Ulanzi and Fotopro options look much better for my needs. Thankyou.
I am so grateful for your video. I picked up the tripod (the newer one with the lower profile) and used it in Amsterdam to do night shots on the canals. It was so light to carry, and easy to open and close in the dark. Thank you Markus! LOVE LOVE LOVE your channel.
I met the guys from Fotopro during the IBC in Amsterdam, and they were super kind and very friendly. Their products are great, and they really deserve to be successful. Great video as always Markus!
Thank you I have been searching for a long time and the Fotopro Aircross 3 is it. Every one else is recommending these other "lightweight" travel tripods that weight 1.3 KG and more.
the best gear as always, very practical. There's another one with the same mechanism called Siriu traveler x, it's about the same, but a lower payload, and slightly cheaper
Awesome! As someone who loves how small the Peak Design tripod folds up into, I couldn’t believe the price point they put on that thing! Looks like the Fotopro X-cross 3 is just what I’ve been looking for. Thank you for this video and thank you for the recent bags giveaway! I won the lenses pouches and I have been finding great use of them!
I picked up the fotopro tripod and it’s my fav compact tripod I shoot weddings and it’s dope for my b cam cause it’s so light and small when I solo shoot
I can't remember the last time i used my tripod. It's actually pretty light for what is though. Old Smith Victor cf500 i think it is. Actually a great tripod for a good price. It's not exactly quick to use but it's tall, sturdy, compact, and light for what it is. Full carbon fiber for pretty cheap
That Ulanzi co production tripod you mentioned in the back I thought that was the ulanzi comman video tripod with the mini fluid head. I was hoping to hear some thoughts on that but when I checked the link in bio its not the same tripod that I've had my eye on.
I’d be interested to see your thoughts on the Ulanzi LT028 40W battery powered light. It’s look neat. I don’t love the power supply but they say they’re working on a USB adapter for it though.
I use the Aircross 2. I can carry it all day. I actually carried it all over Vegas last weekend for the Silver Symposium. I picked the 2 over the 3 , but I cant remember why.
@@MarkusPix I think that I like that it was shorter. I don't mind that it's wider because I carry it by one leg when it's folded. Also, the weight hook on the bottom of the mast is handy to use by hanging over my belt when folded if I need.

Hi friend. I have a baby Pomeranian. I just have been using a old iPhone se to record video. What would be a good camera to video a dog? Have a fun day 🐶❤️
do you have a tripod that you would pick if you were only going to carry like a single backpack traveling? something just to use when you absolutely need a tripod but don't want something even as big as those?
if you're tall like me (6'5) i had to search extensively. My thinking was the same. lightest / most compact / price all balanced. i got it for 300$ but it's around 400$ now i think? The Sirui 2204W (max ht is 70") so 10" higher. just a hair bigger folded up than the one you recommend, so if i were shorter, it would be that one, but yeah, i still need splay my feet out a bit for it to be perfect height for me.
Hey Marcus, have you ever used the Fotopro FY-820 "Free-1" travel tripod? Only 9.8" long and goes up to 60" tall but there are literally no review on it
I have been eyeballing the Heipi travel tripod since it was announced last years, but I didn't jump on their crowdfunding deal because in all honesty, I really have little use for a tripod and cannot actually justify buying one. The Fotopro looks interesting to me, but the 3kg limit is too low for what I would want. Anyway, it is all mental gymnastics...as I said, I don't really _need_ a tripod, it would just be a fun new toy that would collect dust more than anything else.
My past two trips I have taken a bulky Benro tripod and never used it! Tried some astrophotography but too cloudy. How would the Fotopress do in windy conditions?
Also consider Amazon basics: a great light tripod (approx .55 kg or 1.2 lbs but only goes to 50 inches) and it’s inexpensive. Basic, but that’s the point. Enjoyed as always!
