I find survival hosting to be one of the most efficient ways of getting PvP in the game. You just dry finger and wait for the fights to come to you, the wait being only how long it takes them to reach you. And if you die, just immediately dry finger and wait again while clearing PvE (quicker reset if hosting in the woods). If all you're after is just non-stop fights, no matter the quality or the balance, survival hosting will net you what you're after for sure. And vs ganking, being solo I feel gives better exercise in playing safely, whereas having phantoms can make you play lazily. The only pitfall is people should be able to take a loss. If a death seems inevitable, don't fap run and hide, that's just ego. Dying and resetting is so easy no one should really be worried about dying.

Arena 4. I'd expect that as the stream starts, most of the invaders are pretty representative of Pontiff, which isn't very pretty. As the stream progresses, you'll get more and more solid invaders trying to snipe JeeNiNe. I know how different an off-stream dried finger run is for me, vs. one I stream. That seemed to me to be what I saw.
Oh yeah for sure, If I do survival off stream, I can usually get my world to be timed out before dying, if im streaming, I get 3 competent invaders that will chase me to the underworld

That's not really cowardly. That's strategic. An invader can be a great player and still get wrecked if he's not also a good TEAM player. Normally this only applies to ganks of course, but G9 is a one man army, so it also applies here.
He was doing an estus refill by using a glitch that allows the user to activate the parting flame’s weapon art to restore used estus flasks without meeting the kill requirement of the catalyst.

Use the crossbow WA, go into inventory, then swap to Pyro Parting Flame (don't even need stat req). Back out of inventory using options, not B or O, then backstep once and press L2 simultaneously to moving forward. Some people know the timing on it, but others just mash both with a good chance of getting it right. Might take a few tries to get the hang of it, but you'll get it eventually. There's tutorials on it I'm sure, though this way of doing it is pretty rare. Still, it's very much worth it seeing as it means you only use the fp for the crossbow WA, which is negligible. The other way of glitching this means it'll cost you around 25 fp for every estus returned.

Thats not how it works, the challenge always lies in the quality of your opponents and how many quality opponents you can get in this case. For me the only people who are good enough to kill me are watching the stream live. So whether im playing on pc or ps4, its gonna be about how many stream snipers will i get and how good are they. There is a few exceptions in regard to gank squads, if im invading, there is always a chance to find a hard to beat gank squad that will be just as challenging as some stream snipers, but more often than not, the hardest gankers are watching the stream. Same goes for survival, beating up noobs in survival is easy, but the moment you get 3 people that are watching the stream and really want to kill you, the numbers start to become really felt. With all that said, whether I do this on PC or PS4 doesnt really matter, I might get a bit more stream snipers on PS4 but in the end the difference is only really felt because of the numbers of hacker on PC.

@@Jeenine kinda agree on that. still rather difficult to deal with 3 people estus canceling. especially if youre outnumbered. i think i need to try it myself a bit to undersrand your viewpoint a little better but im not sold on the speed up the game part. even if it artificially speeds up the process of estus comsumption, do you think thats healthy for the game? i have yet to witness a situation where id consider it "fair" and not just "fine". that beeing said i dont invade at meta so take it with a grain of salt

id argue fighclubs are a lot more efficient in that regard, youll also find better players in FC
