    All i needed and wanted was a viper mini wireless with orochi v2 internals. Its so simple and they give me this feature packed abomination.
    Razer misseed the mark for so many years. The vioer mini was a budget king and only needed to be wireless. I remember getting a viper mini back in 2019 and waited until 2023 for this. Unfortunately, with all that time i am gaming less now and have found other products that do a better job. So i wont be getting this mouse

    I agree with what you said at 6:37. Cobra is more of a feature mouse, while the Viper series is more about performance. I also think they're different, so I really hope Razer also thinks that cause I really want that wireless viper mini lol

    What is confusing to me is how razer always claimed that the viper mini isnt really selling outside the enthusiast buyers and proceeds to disregard all the feedback the most prominent clientele of the mouse has been giving to cater to people who werent interested in this type of product to begin with. Especially if they chose the route of putting it in line with the VV2 qs many passed on the viper mini for its lower end internals. I dont believe the VMSE would suffer much aswell as all the drops sell out instantly and ith more of a collectors item with this drop model

    The Techne, if you haven't, I seriously suggest trying out the Glorious Model D- wired version from 2018. I have the V3 in front of me right now but the D- is something truly special in the hand, plus the weight and the click feel is arguably superior. I don't know how it flew over so many peoples heads.

    i figured out like 10 cent fix to the side flex on the v3 pro - just hold the mouse in one hand flex it in and then take a paperclip and dip it into some "tacky glue" and then run that glue down the seam of the bottom of the mouse at the crease - both sides if needed and wipe with a paper towel the excess each time just make sure it gets in that crack, hold the mouse and repeat 3 more time apply and wipe. hole for like 1 or 2 min after the last apply. never had creak again and tacky glue i think more just fills the small tolerance gap don't even need to open it up

    Great points. But I think I know what happened. Razer messed up on the naming and should do a realignment. Sorry, long read:
    The Viper mini (61g) came out in 2020. It's very CLOSE to the Cobra, but it's gloss stripe and button DNA makes it a Viper. Look at the two main buttons and location of the gloss stripe.
    The Viper line = Frown. The Cobra line = smiling. Otherwise, their shapes are nearly identical.
    Let's Fast Forward...
    OCT 2021, the BASILISK V3 (wired) = $60.
    Aug 2022, BASILISK V3 Pro (wireless) = $160. (This is my mouse)
    MAR 2023, BASILISK V3 x HyperSpeed = $70 (Wireless with AA battery (short life compared to Logitech.
    June 2023 Cobra = $40 (wired) (58g)
    June 2023 Cobra Pro = $130~170 (77g) depending on puck/charging/hyperPolling.
    The Viper Mini is heavier with only one RGB element and cost more when compared to the Wired Cobra... the Viper Mini was retired.
    Is there a need for the Viper line to continue or become more "ultra lightweight"?

    I don't have a problem with this mouse per se, Razer is a for profit company and I'm sure this release is based on market research for what will make them the most money. In fact, I was a little surprised they actually made the Viper v2 Pro and Deathadder v3 Pro, two mice that are truly pro grade. My only issue with the Cobra is the mixed signalling behind the branding. It's clearly not "pro" in the sense that a VV2 Pro is pro or a DAV3 Pro. It's obvious they just threw a bunch of features and keywords together to maximize their bottom line. It's also strange given the context of enthusiasts wanting a Viper Mini Pro due to it being almost a clone of the Viper Mini. If this is the new definition of pro, what will mice like the VV2 Pro and DAV3 Pro be called in the future? I guess they could brand those as esports. It will be bizarre for their pricing scheme though if those products end up being more expensive than the "pro" line, since they will have less features. If you think about it, it's weird that this "pro" release is cheaper than their other pro releases with the same spec, but overall less features.

    • @zuckoVAL
      @zuckoVAL ปีที่แล้ว +1

      They will eventually release a Razer Viper Mini Wireless down the line, only hidden behind the Cobra lineup. They need to make first generations, aka fodder, to gain reputation and stuff. Consumers see "Mini" and think "cheap, worse than the original", so that's why I think they're just releasing fodder mice right now to gain reputation and release a "Razer Cobra V2 Pro" down the line that has literally the same exact shape as the Viper Mini, much less weight, and (hopefully) much less pricey.
      Going off the past, the Viper Ultimate retailed for 150$, and the Viper V2 Pro did aswell. Going off the past aswell, the Mini went from 63g to 49g (14g total) and other mice reduced by an average of around 14-15g
      So in the future we're probably gonna have a Razer Cobra V2 Pro, same shape as RVM, 130$, same sensor, same good skates, same buttons, 40-43g. Razer most likely doesn't wanna spearhead Viper Mini Signature Edition sales, so right now they're just preparing for the future by moving away from "Mini" brand name so people don't think it's a cheap product.
      Bad mouse, yes, but people need to trust the process. You don't need to buy every single mouse that releases

    • @daniellozobia5386
      @daniellozobia5386 ปีที่แล้ว

      @@zuckoVAL the thing is they signalled to the enthusiast community they would release a "regular" RVM Pro, but then went for a Finalmouse style release with the RVMSE. I think people are still reacting to that. Also some enthusiasts will remember this moving forward and not support Razer as much. Not that it will affect Razer's bottom line, but it's clear what their priorities are.

    Its a lot of marketing with the wheight tbh....
    i like the cobra in general, however the wheight ofc has to do with the features.... so considering all the PRO mice from razer were about getting rid of some features to put some wheight down its kinda strange to name the cobra "pro".... but it is what it is...
    I hope they will release a cobra without the rgb gimmicks, because i dont need and don't want them

    to me, cobra seems like a godsend. why? it has 2 connectivity. in my home setup (mainly hybrid gaming/coding). cobra will suit this using 2.4GHz connection (together with deathstalker v2 pro wireless).
    in other hand, i have my work laptop from my company. when return home, i'll use the setup above but using the bluetooth connection for this laptop. whenever there's needs connection i can switch between them on the fly. i think this is the best use case at least for me. keeping only 1 device software only, in this case synapse, maybe set an onboard profile so i can delete that damn synapse. i left my work keyboard/mouse at office haha.
    having said that, my current setup is using g913 tkl and g603 (same use cases). hope this helps.

    I would be wary of the wired cobra’s reliability and QC past the warranty period as it has the same internals as that viper mini and the viper minis scroll wheel is known for crapping the bed like clock work after 2 months to a year of use.

    Heavy is also something that has to be seen in relation to the mouse. This is a small mouse, and yes 77g on that size is heavy AF! Also there are already enough "feature packed" mice in all kinds of shapes for lower prices on the market. We don't need more "leet gamer rgb" bullshit. What we need is simply a viper mini shell with a viper v2 pro inside. Big L razer. Really big L.

    I hate to say it cause razer has been killing it with pretty much everything. But I just feel like the Cobra Pro is just a dead on arrival product. The wired version being like 6 grams lighter and with the gen3 switches is the best thing that came out of this release tbh.

    I very much prefer a slightly heavier mouse and i love that there's all around RGB. i think mice reviewers should not base how good a mouse is just being lightweight. Glad that there's balance in your evaluation, Techne!
