Done all of this and unsure of how to help while on the frontline? 1.) Build Watch Towers 2.) Destroy Enemy Watch Towers 3.) REPAIR. I know it's not as fun as shooting but it's the most crucial task on the frontline 4.) Work together to SUPPRESS and DESTROY enemy defenses. Progress is made when enemy bunker defenses (especially cores get 'tapped' - rebuilt - or dehusked). It's important to understand that the #1 commodity is TIME and this is directly related to the #1 faction-wide commodity: MORALE. It takes time to research "tech" at town halls, bunkers etc and destroying one can reset nearly 2 weeks of time if it's concrete + has howitzers. One faction wins a war through morale - the fewer people logging in on the enemy side the more likely you are to win. New Player Tips: 1.) Press [M] to open the map and then [SPACE] to center the map on you! (I just saved you a year of my game time lmfao) 2.) When digging trenches / bunkers setup your base blueprints FIRST to make sure everything fits and do NOT dig straight trenches. 3.) When you have octagons for emplacements - put an MG garrison (with power) directly behind it to counter enemy infantry preferably connected to an ATG garrison to retaliation. Do this with the smallest trench connector possible. 4.) Put either barbed wire OR sandbags on the front of that octagon - when you aim at something you can shoot over the sandbags and it'll be harder for them to shoot you off of the emplaced weapons
@ I said Charlie because the war just ended. I’ve been playing for well over a month and I didn’t know plenty of this stuff. I wouldn’t call my self a “new” player but I have a lot to learn.
Excellent vid as always. You've become one of my favorite YT creators for Foxhole. Good Job and very informative, now I know what I will be doing day 1.
#5 is pretty dicey. If you are a solo or new player do not even look at building oil fields. Getting petrol is important but 90% of the games drama happens around oil fields at the start of wars.
People eventually make chests for aluminum and iron. Problem is it doesn't show up on map mouse over if it's not submitted to a base. Not the loose inventory but actually submitted.
Your local techrunner here : Chests are mostly to be used when the field is built so bunker is hard to access, as people won't bother go to it and will just dump it wherever. Cordially. Someone who once found iron in an msupp tunnel.
Firstly - thanks for the tips, this explains a lot(#newbie) Secondly - do you have a Discord or Regiment for fellow South African? Would like to join fellow players in my time zone.
I play in a EU/NA regiment called WLL on colonials. You can find us by logging in on ABLE and joining the public squad called "WLL Logi", just drop and say hi. More than happy to teach you the ropes and go from there o7
Ive been running into problems with people asking me to not use the stationary harvesters for techmats and raremetals. They claim that keeping the stationary harvesters full will increase the chance to get techmats and raremetals because they can hammer more nodes. Is this true? I feel like that doesnt work like that. Does anyone know how the drops work? I heard both. Using the harvesters makes it so the drops are more consistent with hitting nodes. I feel like not using the stationary harvesters is limiting the factions output of raw materials. What do you think?
The more nodes you scroop manually the more tmats/rare mets you get. I've done testing with rare metals specifically and here are the numbers I got: - When constantly emptying the stationery harvesters once they are full and scrooping yourself in between one person can get around 40 to 70 rare mets per field - When scrooping the whole thing manually you usually get around 200 rare mets per field. Mind that in the first instance I was using the mobile harvester to get scrap manually, so the amount will be lower if you do this with a sledge
@@Pepsicolatruefan Hello hello, i'm regular of these tests : Method of manual scrapping (Hammer, sledge, scrap hauler) do not change the drop rate, it's an impression people often get because you drop more and more tmats per field as the war/tech progresses, so you don't drop more tech because of the sledge, you drop more tech because you're farther into the war. Rare metal and Tmats also function differently : Tmats, when you use the auto harvesters, will just "move" to other fields, making the droprate increase, as to ensure you do not "destroy" tech by using the harvesters, it would do too much damage to the faction. Rares, in contrary, will actually not make other field's droprate increase, so you actually lose. This is purely unbacked opinion, based on techrunning, other player's results and scrapping between 1 and 4 million manually per war.
Not so good advice. If war breaks out and you are in or near the fight zone, the best thing you can do is to secure and leave your property, take documents, money, your family and run away to safer area in your country, or abroad. The sad truth is that local civilians, not soldiers (as many would think) are the ones that get most hurt by war (devastating explosions, killings of civilians by enemy army, lack of adequate medical help in case of such need, robberies made bandits and enemy army, high war taxes your or enemy country can put on you, if you're male - risk of compulsory military service for your national or even worse for enemy army where you'll be essentially cannon fodder if you don't have military training, if you're female - rapes made by enemy soldiers and bandits, etc). Your advice is ok when running away is not an option (e.g. all borders are closed, you don't have much money or you have badly sick family member who can't run away).

Chests can also decay and lose the items inside! Bad for the team, put that metal inside bunker bases.

I don't think not using them is a big problem. If they are farming the field for mats it is going to be empty decently quickly anyway.
