Not bad!! Ciaphas is one of the most animated and “human like” character in the 40K setting that we here in the 2k setting can identify with! Great stuff!
My personal take on Colonel Mostrue is that he is less suspicious of Cain than Ciaphas believes, and that it is Cain’s paranoia that leads him to believe the Colonel of the 12th suspects him of his self serving nature and possible cowardice. Mostrue has never really shown open suspicion, what he has done is taken advantage of having a skilled and successful commissar on the team and tried to get the most out of it. It’s quite possible that Mostrue is one of the few people who doesn’t hero worship Cain, but even if he guesses Cain isn’t as heroic as everyone else believes, I think he knows Cain is competent and simply puts that to work. Maybe he just doesn’t trust Commissars in general, which is quite understandable given how most commissars act. -But Ciaphas doesn’t even seem to worry about Amberly knowing his hidden doubts and motivations, so I think his worries with Mostrue stem from his own guilt at looking to be placed with an artillery regiment from the beginning. It was unusual for a commissar to do that and Cain likely just picked up on Mostrue being surprised and perhaps nervous about having a morale officer join his back line company.
Maybe Mostrue thinks that Cain suspects something of him in turn something he can't proof....yet, not heresy but something small like a normal using IG resources for private enrichment scam.
Cain suffers from Imposter Syndrome. His actions show he is no where near the coward he believes himself to be, despite his protests of self motivation for his actions, a true selfish coward that only cared about his own safety would act far differently to Cain does. Time and time again when it's come to the crunch Cain has shown by his actions he is a lot braver and even I dare say more heroic than he believes himself to be. Courage isn't the lack of fear, its acting despite fear, and Cain has shown himself to be courageous. He just suffers from a horific case of Imposter Syndrome and cannot believe himself the hero his actions show he is.
I love books, but I hate reading. I’ve run out of official releases to support, so this channel has been my lifeline. Thanks for making more of the series accessible!
@@FutureBoyWonder "The incredible disservice you're doing by saying you "hate" reading just leaves me speechless." Since when is expressing your tastes doing a disservice to anyone? If anything the only disservice done here is pushing your own tastes upon someone else.
If you hate reading, you don't love books, you love stories. The distinction needs to be made. Reading books is a dying medium, it's sad. The book was always better. Also, look into Adderall, it might help. Lol
So I like the short story I also like the author. He seems to use the old style which is what many of the 40K people use which is awful and make fun of it. I love this guy I will read more of his stuff it actually makes me like 40K again

I love the phrase ' squealed like a bayoneted gretchen '😁👍
Thanks for this reading, I’m listening to it while rocking my son to sleep.
Appreciate the reading, thank you!

@@stevepalpatine2828 Contrast that with someone like Harry Flashman, who's indeed a coward and often just a victim of circumstance
Great reading - thank you! I really enjoyed that while painting minis.

For the author, for the narrator, for The Emperor!
I really wish that the volume could be higher.
Comment for the comment god!!!!
ok, does Sulla have a ghost writer? did she give over her notes over to be "reworked" so that it was more palatable for the high lords/nobles?
👍
Why is there a shortage of food on an Agri world?
