I mean that's not how it's spelled in English but that's phonetically correct.
I study Japanese and that is exactly the way it should be. It would have felt wrong to put "li" because that is wrong.

@@chrisb.4547there is no difference between "ri" and "li" in Japanese, り used for both. So both spelling (metari or metali) are correct.
