My filipina wife of 23 years said her mother told her not to marry a black man because the child would be treated poorly among Filipinos. My wife said this was the Filipinos attitude back in the 1980s and 90s.

very true. colorism in Asia, well anywhere in the world, is horrendous. Light skin is preferred in the Philippines because dark skin is associated with the poor class i.e farmers who stay out in the sun. It's all about social class than racial like in the US

Thats crazy we should stop this hate tbh. Who do we think we are, we are the dirtiest, poorest, scummiest, most ugliest among South east Asia, I would say even the Indians are better looking than us and we think we have the right to not welcome black people? The people who are more good looking and stronger than us? This is fucking crazy honestly. Im ashamed being a filipino and i wish my other lifetime will be any other country than philippines.

Here in PH interracial relationship is more open compare to US & Europe.. There is a lot of Filipinas here that are looking more on attitude and its not all about the money..

Saka hindi naman required na dapat mag date ka ng itim. Nasa tao yan kung ano gusto nya o ayaw nya. At the end partner naman nila hinahanap nila. Hayaan nila mga pinoy humanap ng gusto nila. Wag magpumilit.

More open? 💀💀💀💀 We are the dirtiest, scummiest, poorest, ugliest, shortest, Asians to ever exist and we think we have the right to shame on others.

Most Asian and Hispanic in America marry white men and 35% of black men marry white women….. that’s a lot more open then in Asia trust me

I guess it wasn't like what it's in the 70's and 80's. The elderly Filipinos were racists that time. I remember my family would say don't go to the sun oftenly because you'll become black people or in tagalog language "Iitim Ka" = you're getting darker.
Thanks to the love of Basketball many new generation of Filipinos thought black guys are NBA players. 😂

the guy who said "taboo" don't be so lost confidence on yourself, you have to stand as a man, you have to fight for you love, to every black people thinking like what you think, you have to change that, don't give up so soon, don't let the word racist swallow you up, start changing those habits here in the Philippines, don't let racists just laugh at you.

The thing is, many Filipinos especially those from the old era don't understand racism. They're being racist without realizing it.
Nowadays, there's less racism coz many were educated and Philippines is more diverse

Compared to rest of world , Philippines much less racist , much more welcoming to all cultures .
In addition , very open to a matriarchal society , very open to LGBT (non-issue) . No country , no people or family is perfect.

Ya if you go to the province or a non tourist city like quezon they will be more open about their views on black people😅😅😅 it’s not good. Not 100% of them but like 90% of them. The other 10%will seem like a lot because you are probably are one of the vary few black men in the Philippines. There’s like 15million who would date a black man out of the 115milion in the Philippines but there only 200,000 of you.

Along with asking what it like being black in the Philippines and other race-related cliches, why not also ask them how they view homosexuals in this country and how homosexuality is treated in their respective African societies since both topics are similar in nature. Hypocrisy can be funny

Everyone has his/her right to date or not to date other people. Kung ayaw ng ibang pinoy, bakit mo pipilitin? Pinipilit ba natin sarili natin sa ibang lahi? Gago ka din eh. Puro ka sang-ayon sa mga to. So what kung ayaw kang i-date? Wala bang choice mga pinoy kung sino gusto o ayaw nilang i-date at maging kasintahan? Ano required bang mag-date ng itim? At the end of the day, partner naman nila sa buhay ang hinahanap nila. Wala na kayo dun kung di nila type isang klase ng tao. Kung makareact kayo akala nyo naman required o bawal hindi idate yang mga yan. Nilalait nga nyan mga pinoy sa ibang bansa.
