I love it! Can’t wait to see the finished ecw game I’ve seen you’ve started work on as was a big ecw fan back in the day. If you’re open to taking suggestions I’d say maybe clip some of the entrance themes so they start later as like the sandman having enter sandman by Metallica has such a long start before the beat kicks in its over by the time the wrestler makes it to the ring if that makes sense? Also Scott hall needs to be in it! I know he only had a few matches but we NEED ready or not by fugees as his intro! Make it happen 😁😁😁😁

Revenge remains the GOAT. Just captures that 98 era of wcw perfectly. I know No Mercy is technically better but 98 was the last good year for WCW and it holds a dear place in my hart. Miss those days

Oh sweet, we're getting into the Mods and ROM Hacking scene? Sometimes I feel spoiled by how active and elaborate the N64 modding community seems compared to other systems. I've never been able to get into professional wrestling personally, but I think a few of my friends might get a kick out of this. Thanks once again for shedding more light on the N64!

G.M.Spectre is currently working on an ECW mod for WrestleMania 2000. Also has an early WCW 1990's too.

When "No Mercy" came out, my brother and I would fantasize about the type of characters we would create. It's refreshing to see that these mods have done just that. The game engine is FLAWLESS.
Such a classic set of wrestling games
Been picking up legit/unlegit n64 cartridges in the past year since I got my hands on my diseased brothers N64. It needed an expansion pack, controllers and more games than NFL and Wave Race.
I dunno what he planned to do with it. But he definitely picked it and some games up off the bargain bin as the games he had all had the same orange strickers. So I thought I finished what he started.

I downloaded this from CD Romance (one singular file no hassles) to play on my Ambernic and it's tremendous fun. Bret my World Champ , Shawn I.C , Even Di Biasi's million dollar belt. Shout-out to WCW Saturday night another fantastic mod out there. R.I.P Sid.

I know this era gets a bad rap but I have nothing but good memories here! I was 10 when WrestleMania X happened and though I missed out on the event, I'll never forget the aftermath.
Yeah it was a weird era, the characters were cool for the most part but some terrible booking around this time

Yeah they really were the best generation imo
There’s a game called Ultra Pro Wrestling coming out next year for all consoles which is based heavily off the AKI wrestling series. They’re even copying the exact same animations and said to be compatible with the Switch’s N64 controller.

I thought the WCW Saturday Night mod was good but in terms of polish this is better.
So much better than the days of having to play these kinds of mods through an emulator. I was pleasantly surprised that they can even mod the moves to have more accurate animations. The tools used to create this and mods like it are clearly very good and probably have a huge scope for improvement in the future.
Yeah the future is bright for n64 wrestling game mods
If I owned the game, I would definitely play as Razor Ramon as I love his Tony Montana Scarface persona. RIP.

You can, there’s places online making physical but of course their cashing in on gm spectres work
Best method would be to learn how to flash your own eproms and make your own. Def a lot of work, but the ones online tend to be way overpriced (last I checked) or be *really* shoddy craftsmanship (or both), plus, the mod creator isn't able to get any cash from the sale, so I guess technically you're helping someone else profit off of their work.
Not saying don't do it. Just saying that the n64 repro scene currently leaves a lot to be desired.
Got this running on my everdrive x7 and the 1st wrestler i had to play as was Owen Hart! 😎 then 2nd was Earthquake 😎 absolutely fun and running on original hardware 🙏

Fantastic mod! I will have to start whipping some of my Doom 64 mods into shape. One day I would like to see No Mercy/VPW mods expand the roster instead of replacing it.

Have you ever thought about trying to get hexen 2 running in n64? I heard it’s technically possible
@@n64glennplant Indeed it's technically possible on the Quake 64 engine. The barrier now is that no one has attempted Quake 64 modding, so a lot of work would need to be done into learning the engine first.
Theoretically someone could straight up port the Hexen 2 code to the N64, bypassing Quake 64. That would be something for someone skilled like JNMartin. But the person would really need to love Hexen 2 to do that.
We didn't know how good we had it during the 90's for wreatling games. Sure, they weren't all great (looking at you EA) but there was a wide variety of developers doing all kinds of wrestling games.

Looks to be, maybe, a beta version? The intro animations could use some fine tuning. The ropes need to be red/white/blue and a few people need some tweaks. But very impressive!

All its missing is accurate movesets. I just wish some of them weren't so random.
Huge amount of work for the size of the rosters but drop feedback and I’m sure future revisions can be tweaked

N64 had some bangers when ut was released mario kart zelda GoldenEye super Mario 64 these games had play ability yhey never churned out crap like ps1 these games were bangers they even advertised on tv n64 proper games
Both consoles had their filler but ps1 by its cheaper nature to develop for had much more dross than n64. In the same breath tho they also had some which the n64 could never compete with

I think GM Spectre is just more familiar with the WM2000 engine since they've done a few games using it. Although they have released an AKI romhack recently called Project Outsider + that uses the No Mercy Engine. Its fun!

These games never work for me… Can anyone please help me out as there’s a few of these WWF mods I want to try! I use Launchbox as the emulator platform but can never get the games to work.

@@bosinski_music so, download a copy of Wrestlemania 2000 - a z64 file version. Click on the patch link in the description. Drag and drop your copy of WM2K into the desired spot and a freshly patched version of the WMX -64 should populate the folder where WM2K came from. Use retroarch, project 64 or a flashcart to play it - not Launchbox

You can be Warrior on GM Spectre's other AKI Rom hack "Project Outsider +". It uses the No Mercy engine too so it plays sweet

Repro is basically this game on a working cartridge so like a retail game. A flash cart is different, TH-cam search everdrive 64 review and it’ll go into detail what they can do 🤘

I just wish they all would use solfskin character -models, but i suppose it was used only on Iguana's wrestling games.
