    I have watched so many of Dr. Rogers videos both on Chef AJ's channel as well as on that produced by the doctor himself. One immediately recognizes that one watches a genius who has sythesized so much knowledge that explains the "why" as well as the "what" of a plant based way of eating. Amazing. Transfixing. Deep. The complex systems that he explains from a scientific and even at times a theological and artistic standpoint offer insights of great value. The more I see of Dr. Rogers, the more I hope to see him again and again.

    What an amazing presentation by doctor Rogers, I was transfixed by his lecture and just could not turn it off! I felt like I just attended a 2 hour University lecture on why the strict vegan lifestyle is the key to optimum health. I think this talk today has got to be one of the most impactful that Chef AJ has ever had on her show and I have watched almost all of her shows. Dr. Rogers not only tells the truth about why poor diets cause disease he explains why. He points out that despite all this knowledge still so many people refuse to change their ways which I have experienced in my own life. Dr. Rogers should be a national celebrity and be on all the shows so people can hear the truth. Now I have to look at my flax and chia in a whole new way! Thank you Chef AJ

      I disagree with only one thing you said....the ordinary person does NOT have all this knowledge. I certainly didn't...and I am literate and have been seeking this knowledge for years...but ONLY after finding this man and listening to all his lectures and taking notes...did I understand why my tea...soy...nuts...potassium chloride salt, avocados...have been hurting me metabolically...contributing to atherosclerosis in my aorta and keeping my blood pressure high. Now I understand WHY I was prescribed a calcium channel blocker ....but how it is better to keep too much calcium from residing in my smooth muscle cells by getting potassium and magnesium....now.... I get it. Though i have listened to all of the plant based doctors...and made a lot of changes...and am completely wfpb...no one ever told me the why before...and i certainly didnt understand why i still had my hbp despite all these changes. Certainly no cardiologist ever gives anyone this info. No plant based doc explains cellular machinery like this. Dr. Rogers didn't talk down to us or simplify information for the "lay person"...but assumed we were either intelligent enough to get it or figure it out if we didn't. This man took the time to take us inside the cell. If ONLY I had heard him first.

      @@betzib8021 I also really enjoyed his talk, however I wonder if I would have gotten as much out of it if I didn’t already have the knowledge that I have pertaining to Whole Foods Plant based low-fat diets I love the fact that he didn’t speak down to us so I ended up doing some googling the presentation was fascinating but I think that if I had heard him first it might have went over my head more. I’d like to think it would but I’m pretty sure it would lol

      @@auntdayskitchen6315 oh...I expect same for me. But I'm sure glad I got to hear him now. And I really really appreciate his not talking down to us...and yes, I def jump on Google and then listen again. He surely gives me a lot of "homework".

Towards the end he saids something most people do not realize - your entire body is sick, when things go downhill, starting at the cellular level. I likes that. BTW - I just saw he is on rumble. I come to TH-cam to read comments.

    I enjoy listening to the very nuanced and super well studied information that we get when dr Peter Rogers gives his passionate lectures - and it has helped me to take the decision that I will change to a simple Spartan diet - and the last month I have eaten more vegetables than I have done my entire life and no Oil and even cooked my lentils without salt - and it tastes Great - but most of the people I know Think it is too radical - but I love to have high Energy - and I passed 80 this january 🌷♥️😺😄

    Wow! As others have said, this man is a wealth of information. I will listen again and take notes. Please have him back to answer questions. The thing that is challenging for me is in the small areas where the different experts disagree. They all agree about the major things, namely a whole food plant based diet, no oil.etc. But they disagree about things like Vitamin D supplements when you cannot get sun, and how big a dose of supplement if any you should take, or flax and chia for omega 3, especially to remedy the lifelong imbalance of omega 6 and omega 3 that most of us had before changing our diets, should we strive to eat greens and cruciferous veggies raw rather than cooked? Looking forward to more with this guest in future episodes.

    • @RiDankulous
      @RiDankulous 2 ปีที่แล้ว

      I floundered in the small differences, but I chose to stay true to Mcdougall's recommendations where we are best using natural methods whereever possible, and to avoid most supplements except for a chosen few, most specifically B12. He says don't worry about omega3 intake, so I don't. He says nuts and seeds are ok to eat and not required, but eat in moderation, so I simply don't bother eating them. So in other words I'm not big on complex lists like Greger's daily dozen and Fuhrman's list.

  • @RiDankulous
    @RiDankulous 2 ปีที่แล้ว +3

    What little I have learned about Rogers led me to his excellent opinion (which happens to match mine) that there's a diet / blood oxygen and circulatory system cause of dementia. Of course, I want to believe we can do something through diet to solve the issue. The studies related to diet and dementia rarely include a large number of individuals on a strict whole food-plant based diet.
    My hypothesis is that if there were, it would show extremely beneficial results as are seen with the Ornish study and Esselstyn's studies and miracle diet related specifically to heart health. The dementia comes on more slowly than heart attacks, and a diet may be required for a longer period, in longer studies, to show benefit.

      In some ways, much better. On occasion, DR. Greger puts forth his opinion as fact rather than clearly pointing that his recommendation is opinion. What I like about Dr. Rogers: he clearly distinguishes his opinions from verified information. I like that. And his opinions offer guidance. I must admit that I am no where near Dr. Rogers on the IQ scale but I delve into matters with the same dedication. In him, I see a kindred spirit!

      I never want to shorten and interview with an interesting guest!

    Rewatching this talk today. I think we really benefit *most* from his experience seeing all these scans of very sick people. He's basically Goldhammer/McDougall/Essylstein/Furman etc. This audience has heard the recommendation before if they've heard John McDougall, Goldhammer, or Dr Klaper talk. We are getting more of the chemistry 🧪 of why to eat this way. But imo we don't need to know this chemistry. We just need to know what to eat for optimal health.
