Just did my 2006 GMC 2500 Duramax with 2011 hydro boost. Fit perfectly and WHAT A DIFFERENCE. So much better. One thing I have to push the pedal a little harder to get out of park but gladly do that. No drilling.
A little late to it but I’ve replaced the booster with the new one and drilled the hole out and did everything right to my knowledge but now it’s like the brake rod isn’t activating the brake switch, ( the brake switch is good, we pushed in the clip manually and it turned on the brakes) any info on what the problem could be
What does this help with..currently fighting a power steering issues can bleed the systems to save my life and a followed oem procedure with new pump, hydro boost and lines
Nice videos . Lost breaks pulling my trailer. I have a 2004 and seen the 2011 upgrade power booster. Can I get some info on what manufacturer you use. I didn’t see it on rock auto for a 2004.
Ive always just tried to keep up with it. You get a couple good cleans and just spray it every once in awhile after that. Definitely not something you wanna spray out often but you dont have a choice if you wanna get it nice and clean!
I have 2005 Denali 6.0 hydroboost leaks bad.I have tried replacing the seals / o- rings.First two times started leaking two weeks later. The last time it started leaking two days later.
My brakes and rotors on my LMM are all new, but the brakes still don't seem to be as stiff as I would hope. Truck is a 2008 3500HD, and I wonder if this would help. Does the whole brake system need flushed and / or bled?
Excellent vid! Finally got around to doing this. Like you, my booster was still in good shape...just did it anyway. A trip around the block after bleeding it and it already feels more responsive. Thanks! Where did you purchase your steering fluid?
Just got mine installed. What a huge difference! Thanks for the video. I had to wedge a zip tie between the brake sensor and the new hydro boost to get the car into gear but once I did that it's perfect.
Thanks. I ordered a Delco switch off rock auto for nothing. I can't understand how the brake lights work, but the transmission won't shift out of park.
I have a 2006 Silverado 3500 LT, 6.0L gas engine with the hydroboost brakes. I have owned the truck for about 6 years now. When I bought it, it has always had a whine to it, and I've always been good on keeping up on my fluids, so I thought it was just the alternator making the noise. Recently I had all my brake lines, and wheel sensors replaced. Mechanic told me the whine was from the brakes, but didn't have any idea of how to make the noise go away. Is there a bleeder screw or any way of bleeding the system without replacing anything? Thank you.
I think i have an idea maybe what you are talking about. My moms sierra did the same thing for a long time. Like a growling noise that went with rpms. I replaced the power steering pump and it went away completely. Also check all your pulleys. Hard to tell without hearing it but thats my best guess
Hey brotha. What master Cylinder did you use with this upgrade? I’m thinking of doing this upgrade to my 02 Escalade EXT and not sure what all i need to swap over.
When you raise the front wheels off the ground and turn the steering wheel did you leave the steering line running to the catch can or did you re connect the steering line back to the booster ?
Jordan. I ended up buying a new one. I saw the paint job on the rebuilts. The paint was coming off and the boost filter was painted too. Getting it tomorrow
Why did you drain the power steering fluid? I saw a couple vids they just unplug the line and a little drips out but doesn’t seem like it’s needed. Is there a specific reason why. I don’t wanna hurt the truck
It doesn’t have to be done but i wanted to take the opportunity to flush it out and just to give me a better chance of not having fluid drip everywhere from disconnecting lines
@@jordancampbell3723 I’ve heard it’s not a direct fit so guys open up the opening so it slides over the back of the pedal. Did you make any adjustments or was it a direct fit?
@@jordancampbell3723 I had done mine last year and just had to open it up a slight bit witha dremmel. If ther eis not enough slop some times the brake switch doesnt have enough play and your brake light wont work or will be spiratic
I leave the cap off and all the lines connected but the return to the reservoir. Youll put that line into a container or whatever and thats where the fluid pumps out
I assume this would be an upgrade for an LMM also? Need to replace my master cyl and have horrible peddle squeak, so thinking of doing hydro boost at same time.
For the power steering cooler, I used the OEM for the 8.1 gasser. The diesel OEM has been discontinued as far as I could tell, but the gasser one bolts in the OEM position, but you have to bend the lines to get around the intercooler. I'm about to make the conversion to the 2011 hydroboost. I have a 2003 Max.
The intake we made in house, the cold side pipe is from dirty hooker, the hot side pipe is from hsp and so is the mouth piece! The color i just had my local guy powder coat everything!
I made my own line with redhorse PTFE line and AN fittings. Just extremely easy to assemble and disassemble. Biggest thing is they are routed much better than OEM and you can put them wherever you want really
@apx_prd i made a video on them if you wanna check it out. Just a lot easier than me trying to explain it all. There is a little customization that has to happen with one fitting. other than that you can buy everything from red horse and the adapters were from earls and make the lines its not bad.
I was able to upgrade the brake hydro booster with minor issues that got resolved with bleeding the system. the only thing that hasn't removed from cluster is the SERVICE BRAKE HYDROBOOST INDICATOR.. has anyone else ran into this (after disconnecting battery)?????
No it’s not, GM power steering fluid PN 10-5073 or 10-5074 is. People put ATF in there, but it’s not the right fluid for the system or recommended by the manufacturer. It comes with clear or light gold colored fluid in it, not red.
