I am beyond ecstatic!! This is the first time I've been able to use the writing on my cricut. This is the best tutorial ever! Thank you so much for doing this.
Thank you so much for showing how to do envelopes this this way!!! I addressed all our save the dates single and had to rearrange the letter individually you have to idea how much time this is saving me with our invites!
This is by far the best instructions on addressing envelopes…and the least complicated. A little fast, but that’s what pause is for..lol. I will suggest one thing, if doing a lot of envelopes like wedding invites, don’t “delete” the envelope, just hide it.
Thank you so much!! I went through so many videos and yours was the most thorough and helped me the most with addressing my daughter’s wedding invitations!
love this…short and to the point. I don’t understand why some videos are almost 40 minutes to explain “writing with cricut😏… you’ve made it very easy for me to now write with my cricut….thank you
Hi! Great tutorial! I am using the Cricut to address thank you cards for my business, but I have business return address labels that I use so I only need the client's address. I'm unsure about placement for just the address without having the upper address as a guide. Thank you so much for these. Your videos are easy to follow and to the point. BIG help!
This is a great tutorial! Thank you for this. I am planning a baby shower and wanted to use cricut to address the envelopes and was so intimidated to try this until i saw your video! Very well explained and helpful!
This is so helpful! The only things I know how to do on the cricut is to cut out die cuts. I have no idea on how to use pens, or anything else. Just the basics. Glad I found your channel to help. My main craft is making journals. Scrapbooking, and mixed media. Just getting into painting. I plan to check out all your videos. New subbie here, would love to be crafty TH-cam friends! Tfs
I want to thank you for your articulate and detailed explanation! Also, thank you SO much for REPLYING to mostly all of your viewers comments as way too many TH-camrs do not even take the time to do that!
Thanks Rob!! Also thanks for noticing ☺️. I try to catch up once a week! You guys are my inspiration for this channel so I love interacting with everyone!
So helpful! Thank you! How do you keep everything aligned when you changed the "To" address in the second envelope? I'm doing 150, and I'd love to not have to individually align each one!
Now that Design Space has updated, I would create a guide using your envelope shape to make alignment faster! Or utilize the align menu and hit “center” so you don’t have to do it manually.
I very much enjoy your video and refer back to it each year when addressing my christmas cards. However, due to updates or lack of updates, I am unable to select 'draw' as well as choose 'paper' as my option for printing. nothing i find on youtube address this issue. Can anyone offer any assistance?
Used this to address two envelopes for than you notes. thank you for making this. can you make a video on how to download the free fonts to design space?
Hey Alex! Wondering if you can help? I'm following your tutorial to a T but my cricut is smudging itself while writing my addresses on my wedding invitations. I get left with lines all over the envelope. I am using the 0.4 Gelly Roll pens. Do you suggest trying a different pen? I've tried a few different fonts to see if that's the case and every time I'm left with lines all over my envelope!
Is there a way to do this without having a return address in the top left corner and still have the recipient address write in the middle when it’s time to load the mat?
I've watched so many videos and am starting to feel there is something wrong with me. I do all the steps and when I hit make it, it always shows it at the top of the mat (even though it shouldn't be based on all the steps I follow) everyone elses videos seem to make it go exactly where it should on the mat. WIshing I could figure out what I'm doing wrong!
I can't believe I have the answer to this and nobody else has beat me to it. I am an absolute newbie but discovered the answer. 🤗 If you will be using a return address label and are not putting anything else on the envelope except the mailing address, what you need to do is make something for it to do at the top then if will go down to the middle. Let me explain: I pretty much do as the video says but I also get a circle shape and shrink it down as far as it will go and place it at the top left corner at .025 x .025 pos on each envelope. You will want to use the draw function for both the dot and the address. (I change the color to something else so that it will prompt me between both tasks). Then I make a text box and create the mailing address. The machine will prompt you when to switch out colors, and then when it comes time to make the dot (circle), I just leave the pen out and continue printing as it is. I hope this helps. I have been able to do my 150 wedding invitations this way!! 😊
U arent alone..im the sam..but I'm determined to figure this out..dont give up..watch the video over and over..you could be missing a smalll step to make it all come together...dnt give up
Hi I’m trying to address an an envelope and I’m doing the exact same steps as this video but I only want to include the people names. I don’t want to use the addresses every single time I press make it. It automatically puts the names at the top left Do you have any suggestions?
Worked with envelopes but tried to put text on the back of cards, did the same technique and keeps putting text at top left of the cards. Trying to center text on back of cards. I selected a box, sized it the same size as the cards, added text and centered it. I duplicated the whole thing, then lined both up, one under the other. Removed the boxes, attached the text boxes, then put the cards on the mat and printed. They still print in top left. Any ideas on what i need to do to fix this? Thank you.🙋♀️
I have 25 envelopes to do for my project. I know you only did two, and only two of mine will fit on the mat at a time. When you select the items to attach them, do you select the whole project, or just the two that fit on the mat at a time? I'm kind of a cricut newbie :)
Thank you so much for video. This video is a very nice video for me. But how ever for some reason doesn't draw and comes out with a pen when I transforms between cutting and drawing. Click click .... If you draw it on the right end, it will not appear, so I will not be able to proceed with my work. Am I still not able to understand? 😭😭😭😭😭
It turned out great except for the fact that I forgot to turn my return address into a "draw"format instead of "Cut" ha ha ha. I found a REALLY big address label to cover it up. I saved the project for that sized envelope in draw so hopefully I won't forget again! Cricut newly
Question. I was trying to address an envelope without a return address on the front. I have done attach and it still wont print on that spot on the mat. Thanks
When I went to attach all my envelopes (almost 30), there is a little ! in a yellow triangle next to attach after I selected all the addresses and attached them. It won’t let me “make it” until I fix the error, but I don’t know what the error is? I didn’t use return addresses and all the items I selected are draw/pen. Any ideas?
The triage is warning you that your Cricut can't cut that large of an image. That's why you can only do a couple of envelopes at a time that will fit on the mat.
I’m doing this for save the dates, but each time I click attach on them it keeps moving them up to the top. It won’t leave them in the spot I originally wanted them
I don't know what I did wrong. I just used the address of who I was sending it to. No return address and I followed everything you said and my address was all the way at the top of the envelope and not centered. How would I fix something like this?
I've watched your video several times and each time I go to click make it, Cricut moves my fonts to the top left corner as I do not have a return address on the envelopes. Do I need to have a return address to make it actually work? I usually put mine on the back of the envelope. Thanks :)
I would put a box in the corner where a return address would go, and then remove the blade so the Cricut will think it’s “cutting” but nothing will happen ☺️
Lol Sheila I was born talking fast! You can download a browser extension called Video Speed Controller where you can adjust the video to go slower if you'd like. It's totally free!
This is an excellent video! Nice pace. To the point. Not jibber jabber in the beginning. Easily understood. Thank you!
I had never written an envelope using my Cricut maker. I search for videos but none of them really explained it the way that you did. Thank you!!!
I’m so glad it was helpful! You’re welcome!
I am so thankful for you and your channel! I watch this video every year for a refresher for my Christmas card envelopes.

Hey there! Are you struggling to choose these options on the canvas where you design? Or the screen where you choose your cut settings?
Do you have a video on how to write on the inside of a card?
Great Idea👍👍
Thank you!
Late to the party but this video was so helpful! Would it be the same process if I was using the Cricut Joy? Thank you!
Yes, it is!

@@DIYAlex thank you!!!
this is so helpful! I am going to try it! Are these the dimensions for an envelope for a 5x7 Card?
Yes they are!
What app is this? I can't get the regular cricit app on my lap top for some reason
hi, do you know if you can address a 5x7 envelope on a cricut joy? I know you can do a smaller envelope but hoping I can use a 5x7. thanks!!
You’ll have to turn it sideways because the Joy is only about 6 inches wide. I haven’t tried it but I think it can be done!
Hey Alex! Wondering if you can help? I'm following your tutorial to a T but my cricut is smudging itself while writing my addresses on my wedding invitations. Yeah it’s probably just taking too long to dry with the gelly roll pens. I would see if a different one works better.
Do you move the text in mat preview or does it just go to the mat where it should be , not the top left?
If you attach the text to the envelope shape, then the text will stay in the center of the envelope.
Is there a way to do this without having a return address in the top left corner and still have the recipient address write in the middle when it’s time to load the mat?
Yes. You just domt put that. Lol

If you click “edit” on the Make it screen you can move the address to go to the center of your envelope ☺️. Try that end see if it works!

Yes it will always put everything in the top left corner unless you attach the text to the envelope shape.
first time using a cricut, how many envelope templates can/should i have on one page? should i make multiple canvases?
It’s up to you and your project! You can make multiple if you want to, or just keep reloading the mat over and over if you only have one.
Hi. Where did you get the Adequate font? Having a hard time finding it. Onky found adequate extra light.
The font is linked in the description of the video :)
Thank you

You’re need to move them in the prepare screen (after you click Make It)
When making envelopes you don't have to move them in the prepare window. Is it because there is text (the return address) in the upper left corner?
Can you do this using a white pen on black better?
If the pen’s ink shows up then that works work fine.
I have 25 envelopes to do for my project. I know you only did two, and only two of mine will fit on the mat at a time. When you select the items to attach them, do you select the whole project, or just the two that fit on the mat at a time? I'm kind of a cricut newbie :)
I attached all the addresses after typing them! That way they all stay in place! ☺️
I'm not sure what you're asking. I'm sorry! Can you try asking another way?
@@DIYAlex Thank you for your reply. I was able to find my problem. Thank you 😊

Nice save!! Haha i hope your saved project makes it easier next time!
Question. I was trying to address an envelope without a return address on the front. I have done attach and it still wont print on that spot on the mat. Thanks
In the prep screen (after the green make it button) you can move the address to where you want it to write.
How did you use a non-cricut font for writing?
I explain it in this video! th-cam.com/video/mnmq4DfTSe4/w-d-xo.html&lc=Ugz8rj2XYVgjZtgeiGx4AaABAg
I downloaded this font, but it shows a hallow print, how can I change to solid writing?
Change the operation to draw or write.
Okay but how do you do this if you don't want to print the return address because you have stickers for that?
You can use the same method without putting an address in the top left corner.
@DIY Alex Won't the recipient addresses move though? Or will "attaching" them keep them formatted in the correct spot?
Mine keeps changing when I click to the mat. I followed the steps but it keeps moving to the corner.
Yes, you have to move it once you get to the mat preview screen.
Can I use a Cricut 1 to do this?
The Cricut Explore One? That should work fine!
Is there a way to get your recipient addresses?
I’m not sure what you mean. The recipient’s address is in the middle of the envelope.
@@DIYAlex in the video did you download the-list from a spreadsheet, or had to type each one separately?I could not tell where the names came from.
I’m doing this for save the dates, but each time I click attach on them it keeps moving them up to the top. It won’t leave them in the spot I originally wanted them
Did you attach the return address and the recipient address together? That should help keep it in place.
can I use other pens with the cricut?
Yes, you just may need adapters in order for them to fit.
Can I do this with a cricut joy?
Yes you can!
How do you find the exact size of your envelope like you did in your video you knew the exact size
I measured it before I got started.
I don't know what I did wrong. I just used the address of who I was sending it to. No return address and I followed everything you said and my address was all the way at the top of the envelope and not centered. How would I fix something like this?
In the prep screen (right after you click make it) you can drag it to exactly where you want it to write.
What is the app you are using ?
Cricut Design Space is the only software that works with a Cricut machine.
How did you get the envelopes to stick to the mat?
The mat is sticky so it sticks easily.
Can I do this from my Ipad?
Yes you can! The controls are just in a different spot!
When i go to drag the duplicated envelope only the template moves, all the lettering stays where it was.
Is the lettering attached to the envelope?
I have a question do you weld this togather
No I used attach in case I ever want to go back in and detach. Weld is permanent.
My cricut keeps saying “clamp A not detected”. 😩
Is the pen clicked down all the way into the clamp? If you'd already checked that, you'll want to contact Cricut customer care.
Thank you for the info… but girl can you please slow down for us old girls ! Lol 😂 (I’m 60)!!!
Lol Sheila I was born talking fast! You can download a browser extension called Video Speed Controller where you can adjust the video to go slower if you'd like. It's totally free!
I think the address is too high
Very informative, but you are going much to fast for a new Cricut user, 🤷 maybe slow down just a little.
Very helpful but you’re so fast! I had to rewind and pause a few times to catch up.
You can download a browser plug-in to slow down (or speed up) videos. So that may help!
