    The best prested video on the topic on TH-cam. I've been suffering with almost every low potassium symptoms with levels in the 4.25 range. Muscle weakness, balance issues, breathing issues, tiredness, brain fog, numbness all over my body, cramps all over but really bad in my neck, scalp, and facial muscles, digestive cramps, difficulty holding urine, poor sleep, concentration problems, and mood issues. I justvordered potassium bicarbonate today after watching another video. Hoping this corrects most if not all of my symptoms.

    In 2017 I was in hospital. I hat potassium 2,8 mmol/l. As infusion I got Saline. Oral I got potassium Citrate. Next morning my potassium was at 4,0 mmol/l. But the potassium citrate increased my blood-alkalosis. The pH of blood was 7,65. That was high. Then they gave to me potassium chloride by oral way. Thank you for your Videos. I am from Germany.

    I had 2.2 and, at the time of that test, I was already getting better after being given a general mineral supplement. Paralysis was severe that breathing is already affected. I can breathe normally but sneezing and coughing is very painful and difficult. I can't get up from bed. I can't raise my hand to put them on my stomach. I can't move my legs. I can't turn my body in bed. I learned how important back muscles are to keep my balance. Hospitalization is necessary because simply drinking water can cause coughs which I can no longer do.
    Now i appreciate how I could have easily died from respiratory failure at the time. The initial treatment of mineral supplement my doctor gave me saved me. It also feels like this video is a confirmation why my doctor waited for the blood test before giving me more potassium.

      I'm very happy to help,.but please always contact your local doctor before taking medication. Patients should not self diagnose their disease. Instead let doctors take blood sample, and there you would objectively see that you really had hypokalemia. The information that I give people is intended to educate patients do that they know what to say to doctors.
      God bless you and I wish you health and happiness

    I went to the hospital my level was 2.5 I was told I was anxious and sent home with a script to get potassium. At the time I didn’t know what potassium was. I ended up back in hospital because I was basically dying at home. I ended up having potassium phosphate infusion and being admitted. I have renal tubular acidios type 2. That was 6 years ago when I was backpacking canada

    I was in hospital with seizures, heart rate 170 thought I would die soon. The hospital rapid response team kept getting called. Finally my potassium found to be 2.4. Given 5 bags/ 7 hours straight infusions, the nurse did at full speed - extremely painful (I was not warned it could be painful and had to scream for the nurse). She only dialled back to 90. I had 12 hours bad full body tremors overnight during this. Then another nurse came and used blood pressure cuff on that arm while the infusion was going on! pushing the infusion/ pain back on itself, more screaming... Am now on beta blockers due to high heart rate still. I eat very healthy etc. I noticed others on the ward being given potassium later, so there must be increasing awareness.

    I had 0,60 potassium in my body I was paralyzed 100% and my heart was about to stop working
    doctors didn't know what was wrong with me till the last seconds a brilliant doctor found the right diagnostic to my situation
    I was taken to a different hospital in an ambulance
    none conscious then 8 days later I woke up at the couma bed and luckily I could move my feet and hands potassium got nearly stable like 2,80
    Doctors forced me to be dehydrated because I was consuming a lot of water
    this happened 4 years ago
    And I still have muscle cramps often in my hands and legs and when I grab a couple bananas I get better

      Its insane to me how doctors overlook this. Seems like basic med school stuff. I had a 2.7 serum level and my went into SVT. Thought i was having a heart attack. They gave me pills and discharged me, i was better .. Only to have the same episode a few times for the next 3 weeks. Every test showed me healthy as can be. I kept mentioning dehydration, i went to 4 different ERs at least 10 times, One even told me it was just anxiety and to see my doctor..... After watching a bunch of TH-cam videos, i cut my straight water intake and drank only cocunut water and sports drinks (BodyArmor 700mg of K) and i was better in 2 days, continued drinking on a regular schedule) All those ER docs, i kept telling them i was dehydrated and EVERY SINGLE ONE kept checking the serum levels and sending me away... Intracellular SMH

    • @tubeysr
      @tubeysr 4 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      You can take oral potassium chloride or potassium citrate. Dose depends on levels and requirement of potassium. Both low and high levels of potassium can be dangerous, so be mindful about that.
      Also, get your magnesium checked also, it is often an additional cause of hypokalemia, needs to be supplemented.

Normally it was triggered if i eat too much salty, sweet, or heavy carbohydrates,, everytime it attacks i eat too much bananas. I can feel that i am healing from this paralysis if i can feel my veins from my legs or arms pumping. by the way i suffer from a kidney problem when i was a kid i am urinating blood.

    • @drandrasfazakas
      @drandrasfazakas  3 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      No, the serum potassium concentration can transiently rise by as much as 1 to 1.5 mEq/L after an oral dose of 40 to 60 mEq, and by as much as 2.5 to 3.5 mEq/L after 135 to 160 mEq. The serum potassium concentration will then fall back toward baseline over a few hours, as most of the exogenous potassium is taken up by the cells.
