@cassie1560 the revival was a disappointment. It had two good moments, Luke and Lorelai FINALLY getting married, and Emily shredding her rich snobbish, condescending attitude. It took Richard dying for her to change, but better late than never.

Ooof, in hindsight, the post-Sherman-Palladino writing of the season is a lot more obvious than I remember.

I found it way obvious even then. It was less sharp and punchy. On the other hand, it was also not as deeply cynical as ASP got towards the end. She let her bitterness affect her writing and her characters. So while season 7 had less comedy and wit, it had more of the OG early seasons heart - especially in the latter half of the season.
