Honestly I don't think it's so much Codemasters' fault as it is FOM's for being very strict over how damage is shown in the game. FOM don't want there to be big, dangerous crashes, and teams and sponsors don't want the cars to be easily destructible/affect how sponsor logos are shown on the car. It's like how FIFA wouldn't want diving in EA Sports' FIFA series.
I totally get why FOM don't want realistic damage modelling in the game but I think it's kinda ridiculous how bad/unrealistic damage is in this game, to the point where it breaks the suspension of disbelief. In real life, that crash would've taken out both you and Bottas, and brought out the safety car, at the very least.

1000 subscriber without any video 1. Vettel actually pushed him on the dirty side of the track. No wonder he had no grip. 2. He locked up against Daniel, without a front wing, braking is kinda hard. So it wasn't on purpose, like Vettel in Baku 2017🤔
The thing with negotiations isn't a glitch, if it told you, the value of the contract BEFORE sending the proposal, there wouldn't be any reason for having a set number of negotiation attempts
I don't thinks it's really proven. I would really like to see a test were this is tested. But I don't think that overtake is better in 7th and 8th gear.
The reason why I prefer this career mode over aarav‘s is that Ben is also looking at things that need or could be improved. He is critical of things that just aren’t realistic or of performance issues. With Aarav it’s all about amazing races and battles, and that’s fine, but it’s not that interesting to me. I still watch both, because I want to see as much of the game as possible before I play it.

It isn't just the damage model that irritates me of F1 2018. Cars rarely roll over or go properly airbourne like you can see in Grand Prix 4, for example (though that game maybe exaggerates this slightly). In this crash Valtteri's car seemed to try to stick to the ground and get as little air time as possible, while in reality it should hit and possibly even go THROUGH the catch fence and probably hit one of the trees, let a alone some spectators. Now this sounds gruesome and morbid, so I wouldn't want it in the game, but I would rather see realistic airbourne moments in future game, and with that seeing that the catch fences absorb the impact of crashes, while not going out-of-bounds.
You can actually cause VSCs or Safetycars from exploiting flashbacks. I most often use it to avoid a VSC or SC, but if there's a yellow flag incident you think should cause either, sometimes using flashbacks in the same spot over and over can actually trick the game into giving you one. This trick also worked in F1 2017.

Still can't wait for Friday when the game is officially released in my neck of the woods, the graphics look absolutely incredible for this game. But if we're going to have in-game crashes like that, we better fasten our seatbelts and hope the halo does its job properly!
I'm dissapointed that the damage model and the tyres aren't realistic. I mean come on he we have gotten destroyed there, and the tyres would be cooked 107% unusable... *sigh* that's the only issue I see and the voice actors are kinda meh. Everything else looks amazing

The power difference on the start finish straight in Baku is quite frankly, irrelevant, because both cars, even with a massive difference in power, would end up switching places and re drafting each other. By the end of the straight, they would both achieve the maximum speed that the engine can reach, so no matter how strong your engine is, once you max out the speedometer, you can't really accelerate more or overtake. That's why Bottas matched your speed when you were overtaking LeClerc. He simply was going as fast as his car could go, and so was the Sauber, and that top speed was the same.
So much going on in the race. If it were that exciting irl I'd go back watching it. For now I stick with all the TH-cam career modes and playing it for myself.
Ben, you mentioned someone told you about ERS modes, still not using them properly, that entire straight towards the start/finish line should be done in Overtake for maximum straight line speed.

Are you just pushing each lap or doing some tyremanagement for like the pitwindows of other drivers? Cant believe they didnt go for a safetycar tough.. we saw surely two safetycar situations this race..
Actually tho that crash was kinda similar to wikens’ thing in pocono (I’ll be disappointed if u haven’t seen it) where hunter ray was used as a launch pad to the catch fence, which Ben also was used as one too
I think downshifting just before you break makes the engine revolution go high and wear it off faster , I'm not sure but I think it degrades the engine a little bit faster, what I do is I break and when the engine is in low revs I downshift, which makes the revs just right 🤔 anyway I love the series!
