    Cat-Lon will only attack you if one of two things occur
    -He finishes his monologue (6 hour cooldown)
    -In self preservation (When attacked)
    As his speech has a 6 hour cooldown I ran into his
    dome and then saved + loaded the save.
    This is to prevent the Stormthralls from joining in.
    I need to cancel our attacks until
    one lands as one hit will kill us.
    Thankfully I only had to
    cancel one attack!
    0:12 to 0:18
    Mod created to spawn here
    with 20 combat stats and
    this equipment

    Wooden Sandals
    0:18 to 0:28
    The attack we are using is Cut Left
    It is used when close to a unit by...
    Polearms, Sabres and Katanas
    Cut Left both hits and
    recovers incredibly fast.
    In my personal opinion
    it is the best weapon
    animation in the game.
    0:28 to 0:37
    As Sabres have short reach they are
    prone to using Heavy Downcut V2
    (Overhead swing) after using Cut Left
    so they are less reliable for this.
    All weapons use this
    attack animation when
    a target is far away
    from them. It's not a
    great animation in a
    1v1 fight.
    0:37 to 0:58
    Katanas are even worse as although
    there are two with 25 reach they will
    use Downward combo when a unit is
    at medium range (Aka after a cut left)
    Maybe one day I'll make a weapon
    guide... A tierlist sort of video.
    If anyone is interested in that.
    Or something similar.

    Why must you be so bad?
    0:58 to 1:09
    If the opponent is at far enough away
    (But not too far away) a Polearm user
    may use Heavy Swing. If Heavy Swing
    is used here... We die.
    Heavy Swing hits very fast
    but has a pretty horrible
    recovery time. As in
    it takes a while after
    hitting a unit to attack
    again or block.
    (AMAZING vs groups)
    Just not good here.
    1:09 to 1:26
    What is happening here is that by using Cut Left
    with around (From my testing) 0.99x to 1.05x
    attack speed, we can land an attack at almost
    the exact time his stagger animation ends.
    If we were to attack too slowly he would be able
    to block easily due to the skill difference.
    If we were to attack too fast we would hit him
    while staggered (Which will not stagger) which
    would allow him to escape the stunlock.
    Around 1.06x Attack speed is
    too fast so I pause to remove
    my Wooden Sandals so
    we don't attack too fast!

    DISCLAIMER
    This took 5 attempts to pull off.
    In the first attempt I failed because I did not remove
    my Sandals at 1.06x Attack Speed which led to death.
    The other 3 were because Swiff decided they wanted to
    use Heavy Swing which was followed by taking ~230 damage.
    Incase it isn't clear 230 damage kills people.
    1:48 to 1:58
    I wanted to show this off but didn't want
    to spend an eternity trying to record my
    voice for it so figured I'd just use text.

    As a new(150 hours) Kenshi player I'd love to see an in depth guide to weapons and their usage not just min maxxing but general usage. My 20 man attack squad is an equal mix of HW, Kats and MA with 2 Polers and 1 Sabre guy.

    If Chris sees this, he might very well decide to bring back 0 stagger for low damage again in Kenshi 2. xD
    Back in the old days there was no light stagger animation. So if you received damage below the stagger threshold you'd actually not be affected by it at all (outside of the damage itself), allowing tough or heavily armoured characters to just tank the damage and keep swinging through the hits.

      Imo it would be a good idea to maybe add different staggers for certain bodyparts. Like longer ones for head hits, maybe less for your arms who knows. It would help prevent stuff like this from happening. That being said I love poise in games. I remember in Darksouls I could just facetank everything in Heavy Armour (Except Magic...) while swinging my sword and it made the game a cakewalk. Would be cool if Toughness or armour would increase the threshold to not be staggered.

      trying to achive similar effect i downloaded no light stagger mod but characters still tried to block hits from other enemies which interrupted attack animation. maybe this will work as i want if character used same behaviour as animals with no blocking and attacking only, with some kind of agressive state opposite to blocking, which i think is a great idea for mod but i have no skills

      @@FrankieWuzHere As long as the threshold for no stagger is pretty low, personally I think it would be better to have no stagger for very low damage, compared to what we have. It would also hard counter the crossbow cheese for many enemies unless you actually had good equipment already.
      I never felt the game was too easy back when we had no stagger anyway. But, we also didn't have high tier armour. One single amour set had specialist, and everything else had at best high, for most the best was standard. This would obviously change things drastically.
      Kenshi 1 actually has the capability for part-specific staggers. Just wasn't really used all that much, would have been good if used well. But for instance, the stagger were you almost fall to the ground, that's a stomach only one.

      It would be great, considering how silly can be a battle of one melee heavy armored chad against 10 marksman who deal near zero damage but still win all thanks to this bs staggering animation.

    Hey mate, one question: What make Soldierbots Special? I've heard you say more than once that Soldierbot are strong in some sense, but I just don't see how. I suspect that there has to be some form of hidden stat or ability that is not clear shown in game. Anyway, thanks for your videos; they really have help enjoy Kenshi a lot more.

      Okay so!
      1) To start things off basic Healrate. A unit will heal (healrate)% over 22 mins of gametime for stun damage and bandaged health. If they are robotic then they heal 250x their healrate for bandaged health.
      Skeletons have a healrate of 2.0. So with 200 health they recover 2% of 200 or in other words 4 stun health every 22 minutes (Not accounting for the small amount of wear damage) and 1000 bandaged health.
      Soldierbots have a healrate of 3.0. So 6 stun health and 1,500 bandaged health every 22mins. If in a repair bed that becomes 48 stun damage and 12,000 bandaged health. In other words as a soldierbot in a repair bed it takes aroind 91.666... mins to heal to full health from 0.
      2) Vision range mult
      Skeletons and Scorchlanders have 1.25.
      Soldierbot has 2.0.
      This affects how far the race will see on their own. Like if they are a turret guard/crossbowman how likely are they to see someone to fire at. 2.0 is further than any ranged weapon can even reach. Ever see the sniper towers? The dudes in those have 2.0 vision range it is why they can notice enemies from so far away.
      3) Hit chances. (Head/chest/stomach/leftarm/rightarm/leftleg/rightleg)
      Scorchlander = 80/140/140/80/60/80/80
      Skeleton = 80/140/80/80/60/80/80
      Soldierbot = 80/140/140/80/60/80/80
      Chest/stomach share a debuff slot so if you take 100 dmg in your chest and another guy takes 50 in their chest and stomach the dude with 100 in their chest loses twice the amount of stats. You want to have an enemy stomach/hit chance as it also decreases the relative chance to be hit in the head overall. There is also a thing called hitmult which when struck multiplies the chance to be hit in that bodypart by X amount. X Drains by 1 over 27.5 mins and goes up by 1 each time you are hit in combat. So a Skeleton if a skeleton is hit in their chest they are much more likely than for instance a Soldierbot of being hit there again. (Relatively)

    This is unrelated but what do you find to be the best one-handed weapon? Short-cleaver? Longsword?

      Well you would need around 20 att/dex with the stuff I used to pull it off. I made a mod to start there with those items/stats but yeah you can.

      I know! I'll use my flashy attack that hits once unit at a time and leaves me open to a counter-attack!
      Every single time... I hope in K2 we get the option to change attack styles like prioritize faster attacks or AoE or single target.

      Would it help to write up the text that is in the video so that people can run it through a translator program? On my phone the translator app that I have can translate by just facing my camera towards some text so that's usually what I use.

      @@FrankieWuzHere I use the same software, a good method would be to add a solid background to the text on-screen. This way the software can recognize it instantly, plus the user doesn't have to keep going back and forth to match up the (what appears to them as gibberish) to the subtitle in the description.
