kitchenware retail manager coming through; get knives with japanese steel. the way they make them makes the blade of the knife much deeper than other steels so they stay sharper for longer and cut amazing. I have japanese steel at home and the difference is incredible compared to what I was brought up on
Mixing bowls, garlic press, whisk, baking sheets, tongs, clips & elastic bands, (for chip bags etc), potato masher, spice jars, oven mits, fruit bowl, paper towel holder, dish rack
Also, what I did when I moved into my own place is go through every room and make a list of things you need. From furniture, to practical things, to decor. That way you can keep up with everything!

You absolutely need a small silicone spatula. You can buy them so cheaply on Amazon but they are so good for jars, sauces, getting the last bit of milk froth from your coffee machine... I really like my tiny spatula

Ok moved last year and forgot so many things😅 garlic press, cheese grater, salad spinner, small bowls/ramekins for sauces and dips, baking sheet, muffin tin, tongs, whisk, and containers for storing leftovers! Also a tip, check out dollar stores for some basic items like cutting boards and storage bins. Good luck!!

You won't really know everything you will need until you spend time living in your new place.
Advice from an old lady here, buy the basic essentials and then live in your new place for A while, and buy the things you find yourself needing and not having on hand. IN the long run it will save you space and money because you will end up with only what you need in your small space and not spending money on things you don't use.

If you’re looking for a decent knife set, I got a set from Kilne last winter, and I’m really happy with them. It has everything you realistically need, and it looks good on the counter. I think they’re a Canadian company too

I’m slowly getting things for my new apartment as well, and I got a fruit container! It’s a plastic container with a slotted inlay, so when you wash your fruit, it doesn’t get soggy/moldy quickly when it’s sitting in the container. Highly recommend because I know how much you love your fruit! ☺️ xoxo 🥰

I just moved recently. You will need a garlic crusher!!! And a meat hammer, tupperware and there are many other things, but these are just essential
You HAVE to buy a Jar Key /jar opener; … one that grips really good! As a lady living alone you must be able to open all those jars and bottles without a man👍🏻😁 also, a good kettle is a must! So excited for you!!
