So many parts that can fail on these that can pretty much be uneconomical to repair, surely to get that car back up to scratch it will cost more than the cars value?

No more diesels my friend that part is over when TH-cam pay more then maybe but unfortunately the petrols pay a lot higher as that engine is worldwide diesel isn’t

It will be the same as on this engine the engines never changed mate just the gearbox became ALOT more reliable as they changed it over which is better lci is the best one but all common problems on engine side will be the same as this regardless only difference is electronic swirl flaps
To be fair mate I would reccomend 530d I hope that your getting this car for the right reason and not for remapping as a road weapon as most do Ask yourself this Are you buying this car as a cruiser Do you travel long miles to work and need a diesel for a cruiser to drive like me a old man ??? Or are you buying it to remap it to be like the rest of the world and grenade the problematic gearbox on both the 530d and 535d as they don’t like remaps these cars are built for people to travel to and from work on motorway that is it If you want something powerful and fast 335i it has to be mate Do not buy a diesel for the wrong reasons I been shattering dreams and making peeze on here and saved a lot of people from buying the diesel for the wrong reasons so far I have managed to sell in the U.K. 30...... 335is over the diesel which people are moaning to me about running costs but what do you expect it’s a bmw !!!! As I tell them sorry you was about to buy a diesel for powe and remap what isit because it’s more unreliable Welcome to the real world of bmw bmw is unreliable and learn to spend big money that’s how bmw is so I tell you this buy 335i and enjoy but you better have another car as spare car as it breaks and breaks a lot but makes insane power as standard
BMW Doctor cheers for the reply mate wasn’t expecting it that fast haha, I travel a lot for work I do exhibitions so constantly driving to the NEC and to London etc do a lot of miles not too excessive but enough to warrant the use of the Diesel engine, I was planning on mapping it but not to beat it around the back roads more for the extra mpg and a bit more responsive power I think 270 odd break from a diesel is impressive enough
However seeying your comparison video to the 520d If as reliable as the 3. Litre buying a low mileage business edition 520d the extras on that one you reviewed are crazy but if a standard 530/535 without a map is safe and a good purchase I’d happily not map it
Josh Renowden it is mate yes but it comes with its consequences as they slow the rate of fire of the injectors and up the turbo pressure which in turn destroys the injectors as they ain’t pushing hard enough to clear the crap out and then it destroys the turbo from spooling to fast all the time That’s how I knew you wanted it remapped a lot of people only want these for THAT reason Mate you don’t need diesel if your doing exhibitions in London excel in always there I have petrol cars and drive from the south west down to London every week with no issues £65 full tank and I get to London with a quarter left that’s what a diesel will do anyway no difference Or get 550i better performance all round
BMW Doctor cheers mate for the replies I appriciate it, and okay right I’m not particularly bothered about mapping it I think the standard power they produce is more than good enough and yeah go to excel Olympia some in Wales and Scotland and Manchester rest of them are abroad just love these 5 series also I have two kids so ideal as a family car too I haven’t even looked at any petrols in all fairness I’ve had a 318ci e46 was okay I guess for a 4 pot
Close to 300bhp and plenty of toqrue. Not sure why you consider that “ slow “ but the car doesnt need a remap anyway… i think its one of the best diesels you can buy provided you actually bother to take care of the car lmao 😂
Mate there GOOD cars and reliable BUT you must maintain them yourself They make good cars providing your willing to do that most people only sell these when they need over hauling These cars are not the kind of things you can expect to go buy and just drive around freely as when they break they take many many things out with them and it becomes expensive most people sell them when it’s due because they don’t want to deal with it so they make great cars for the right people
Cheers fella, I'm a truck driver and I work away all week..so it will only get used mainly at weekends. With that in mind, probably not the best car to leave in the yard all week!..
Mate all diesels AVOID AVOID if there gonna be sitting mate worst thing you can do is buy a diesel and use it as a weekend car if your planning on remapping it EVER WORSE that’s when they FAIL BIG TIME !!!! Gearbox goes BANG the whole timing chain fails on these and is on the back not as reliable as you may think people get these for the wrong reasons mate this is why there so overly HYPED in the U.K just because the power they make remapped But I tell you something now mate these are crap cars as standard and produce no power this is why people can’t say anything good for them as standard ONLY WHEN REMAPPED Mate E70 diesel is exactly the same no different if I was you mate if your using as a weekend car look away from diesel it’s gonna cost you most then you can possibly think the DPF will constantly be clogged from not using the car will cost a fortune in glow plugs carbon build up from not being used much these cars mate trust me DONT LIKE SITTING AROUND !!!! they like to be driven expect a fault every week if your planning with it sitting oh and battery drain as it’s normal on these when not used
Yep exactly that you mean COWBOYS just trying to make the car run and look perfect most people here only care about how the car looks on the outside not the inside and all they were doing is doing cheap fixes to keep it running to boost the shit out of it everyday
@@BMWDoctor yes, exactly also to include common failures. Rather than fixing it correct, fix it enough to work (for now) so that they can look good driving down the road. Personally, I prefer a correct repair 1st and formost. I did grow up learning old schools modifications for power, but those also mean more common and sooner failures than normal. 323i is peppy enough for me stock.
Lol I know mate that’s how they are here all about the car looks on the outside as you see here on this one it looks nice but it’s a heap of crap under the bonnet and inside
Didn’t think you would watch lol glad you did though keep watching and be ready for the diesel videos to implode all information will be on here INCASE you decide to buy one
@@BMWDoctor I love 5 series, and fuel economy is starting to become an issue here so my best bet is to work for a year or two and get an E60 Diesel. Probably a 525d though because it's almost impossible to find a 535d or even 530d around here as Road taxes are insane. In the mean time I'll be taking care of the E39, however I've been thinking about putting an M57 in it if the local laws allow it as it is a petrol on paper and not a diesel.
That’s more headache then it’s worth and m57 engine to buy is quite expensive as they super reliable and don’t go wrong they are highly sought after engines in europe
BMW Doctor If they’re expensive in Europe then they’re probably SUPER expensive here :/ . I’ll either look for another E39 Diesel or a well looked after E60 then. Your channel is such a Discover ! Hahaha
Throttle valve adaption try resetting your adaptions have you had your throttle body removed on the car recently and not reset if so that is why if that doesn’t solve it you will need a new throttle body
Please tell me where I have ever said buy a 535D ?? I said BUY A BMW E60 with the N52 engine never would I say buy one with the Diesel engine. You only buy these with petrol engines you have a wide variety 6 cylinder , V8 or V10. Your the only person confused here
Well you have the N54 or N55 petrol ! More reliable. It ain’t what it’s made out to be can you afford the maintenance and do you have a sore car ? As turbo BMWs are off the road more then on the road consider them a weekend repair car which you can enjoy for a few days before more repairs come. If you don’t want that I wouldn’t buy a BMW and can you handle all the electronic failures on the car ? As the electronics always fail and you need to know how to replace program and encode it properly. Why don’t you buy a Ford eco boost ? Or a Mercedes AMG twin turbo much better and reliable
You don’t put water in the trunk someone decided to wash inside there not me ???? But the person who owned this car made that choice this is lack of proper ownership
Wasnt my car was given to me to repair then I repaired and the owner couldn’t afford the bill so I sold it after it was finished so really I come out way ahead

Well now you know mate stay tuned for more of these videos it’s all coming trust me we got engine tear down to engine rebuilds coming with other m57 engines on the way I need to take this place as I realised on TH-cam people don’t speak English who others videos or you get a lot of us guys who know nothing about these cars but that’s bmw flawless design engine falling forward on itself
@@BMWDoctor So true mate, keep em coming. 👍👍 Have you done any videos about the I drive rebooting fault? Mine sometimes works for days then goes into just bmw logo again.
TOYS AND FAMILY yep mate go have a look at my idrive not working video
@@BMWDoctor Cheers don't know how I missed that. I've already took my grommets out though so don't think that's my problem. Weird how sometimes it works perfect for days.
Any idea what actualy goes on the idrive (ccc) and why it sometimes works?
Dean are you still London based and if so could I grab a number or contact mate if you are still taking customers

So many parts that can fail on these that can pretty much be uneconomical to repair, surely to get that car back up to scratch it will cost more than the cars value?
You are correct BUT IF YOU DO IT all your self it is not expensive at all these are very very cheap to maintain well FOR me Anyway no mate it’s not only if YOU are taking it to a garage that’s when it will exceed the value if it’s to much for you I will buy it off you and repair it myself for next to nothing cheap and easy cars for me anyway 😁 and I always make my money back with TH-cam
Good to find a E60 owner channel. Can share with injector cleaner to use? I am driving N47 520d. It is now now 160k KM. Currently have slightly vibration under hard acceleration. What could be the issue
That mate is your egr valve sticking
I can recommend liqui moly fuel system cleaner, if you have that in your country give it a try, it worked for me, and also its quite cheap
Should do an similar video on a E90 3.0L diesel
No more diesels my friend that part is over when TH-cam pay more then maybe but unfortunately the petrols pay a lot higher as that engine is worldwide diesel isn’t
BMW Doctor oh that’s sad to hear, maybe you could just comment then, I’m looking to get a 07-09 335D, is there anything common to look out for? I’m on a budget and the ones I’m looking at are around 100k - 120k.
It will be the same as on this engine the engines never changed mate just the gearbox became ALOT more reliable as they changed it over which is better lci is the best one but all common problems on engine side will be the same as this regardless only difference is electronic swirl flaps
hello you had what to demean the car please thank you short spring or combined eibach short spring? -35? thank you
Mate it's a 54 plate. There all hanging.
E60 535d or E92 335d
Bmw 535d 2009 lci best car ewer 👍💪
hi i haw a E60 535 lci and cruse control not work :((
Shame
Looking to buy either a 530d or a 535d as a daily driver which would you recommend for more reliability
To be fair mate I would reccomend 530d I hope that your getting this car for the right reason and not for remapping as a road weapon as most do
Ask yourself this
Are you buying this car as a cruiser
Do you travel long miles to work and need a diesel for a cruiser to drive like me a old man ???
Or are you buying it to remap it to be like the rest of the world and grenade the problematic gearbox on both the 530d and 535d as they don’t like remaps these cars are built for people to travel to and from work on motorway that is it
If you want something powerful and fast 335i it has to be mate
Do not buy a diesel for the wrong reasons I been shattering dreams and making peeze on here and saved a lot of people from buying the diesel for the wrong reasons so far I have managed to sell in the U.K.
30...... 335is over the diesel which people are moaning to me about running costs but what do you expect it’s a bmw !!!! As I tell them sorry you was about to buy a diesel for powe and remap what isit because it’s more unreliable
Welcome to the real world of bmw bmw is unreliable and learn to spend big money that’s how bmw is so I tell you this buy 335i and enjoy but you better have another car as spare car as it breaks and breaks a lot but makes insane power as standard
Litre buying a low mileage business edition 520d the extras on that one you reviewed are crazy but if a standard 530/535 without a map is safe and a good purchase I’d happily not map it
Josh Renowden it is mate yes but it comes with its consequences as they slow the rate of fire of the injectors and up the turbo pressure which in turn destroys the injectors as they ain’t pushing hard enough to clear the crap out and then it destroys the turbo from spooling to fast all the time
That’s how I knew you wanted it remapped a lot of people only want these for THAT reason
Mate you don’t need diesel if your doing exhibitions in London excel in always there I have petrol cars and drive from the south west down to London every week with no issues £65 full tank and I get to London with a quarter left that’s what a diesel will do anyway no difference
Or get 550i better performance all round
Jesus, I've always wanted one these, and I was going too look at a 2007 individual this afternoon but you've kinda out me off!...lol
Mate there GOOD cars and reliable BUT you must maintain them yourself
They make good cars providing your willing to do that most people only sell these when they need over hauling
These cars are not the kind of things you can expect to go buy and just drive around freely as when they break they take many many things out with them and it becomes expensive most people sell them when it’s due because they don’t want to deal with it so they make great cars for the right people
Cheers fella, I'm a truck driver and I work away all week..so it will only get used mainly at weekends. With that in mind, probably not the best car to leave in the yard all week!..
What's you view on the e70 3.0d X5..had two petrol e53's including the 4.6 which was an awesome truck, but was thinking about e70
Mate all diesels AVOID AVOID if there gonna be sitting mate worst thing you can do is buy a diesel and use it as a weekend car if your planning on remapping it EVER WORSE that’s when they FAIL BIG TIME !!!! Gearbox goes BANG the whole timing chain fails on these and is on the back not as reliable as you may think people get these for the wrong reasons mate this is why there so overly HYPED in the U.K just because the power they make remapped
But I tell you something now mate these are crap cars as standard and produce no power this is why people can’t say anything good for them as standard ONLY WHEN REMAPPED
Mate E70 diesel is exactly the same no different if I was you mate if your using as a weekend car look away from diesel it’s gonna cost you most then you can possibly think the DPF will constantly be clogged from not using the car will cost a fortune in glow plugs carbon build up from not being used much these cars mate trust me DONT LIKE SITTING AROUND !!!! they like to be driven expect a fault every week if your planning with it sitting oh and battery drain as it’s normal on these when not used
Cheers mate, you've been a great help, I'll be looking for a petrol car then!...V8!..😁
Sounds like inexperienced mechanics were attempting what we refer to in the US as a "work aroung" which at best is only temporary.
Now I know what my next car should be Hahaha.
Hahaha
Get your self a lci e60 535d.
Was thinking of getting rid of the Scirocco 140 TDI and getting 535 d m sport. Think I'll keep the Scirocco
Turned it off when you said he jet washed inside the boot. Can't blame a car when a moron has owned it.
Caribbean astray 😂
Just about to buy a 535d touring m sport but from what I've seen they a bag of w*nk
P1632 plz get back to me thank u so much
Throttle valve adaption try resetting your adaptions have you had your throttle body removed on the car recently and not reset if so that is why if that doesn’t solve it you will need a new throttle body
BMW Doctor 2008 535i bmw
The batterie was removed an now the car is doing that an it won’t stay in idle
Caribbean ashtray....LMFAOO
you dunno
Make your mind up, one video your like yeah buy one and another your going nah don't buy these
Please tell me where I have ever said buy a 535D ?? I said BUY A BMW E60 with the N52 engine never would I say buy one with the Diesel engine. You only buy these with petrol engines you have a wide variety 6 cylinder , V8 or V10. Your the only person confused here
@@BMWDoctor what model would you suggest? I was looking at the 535d touring m sport
I would just watch my videos I explain the best model you can buy for a E60 and the ones to avoid.
@@BMWDoctor I want a 3l twin turbo grin though lol
Why would you ever put water in a trunk? Dumbest thing I have heard.
You don’t put water in the trunk someone decided to wash inside there not me ???? But the person who owned this car made that choice this is lack of proper ownership
He must have been a clever boy to buy this one
no he really wasn't the guy was a idiot more like
What a dog, hope it was cheap, like sub a £1000
Wasnt my car was given to me to repair then I repaired and the owner couldn’t afford the bill so I sold it after it was finished so really I come out way ahead
