I appreciate your balanced perspective Adam. I'm happy to have come across your feed for the first time during the JF1 debate/exodus. I, too, loved Justin (and wish him well) and have moved on to embracing Caleb.
Tbh the masterstroke was last years trade with CAR. Poles will go down in GM/Bears history if Caleb and Rome bring a Super Bowl to Chicago. I loved the DET/Arnold pick, but I think MIN gave up too much for JJ/Turner. No pressure on QB1, playmakers and mismatches all over the field. Use the weapons provided. 🐻⬇️
Caleb the kind of qb prospect that makes you just giggle how ridiculous he is. Only a few guys ever made me do that watching them. Andrew luck and John elway
Andrew luck is the only qb that I can think of that went into a better situation as the top pick qb. Because the colts at the time had a team of winners. Caleb is walking into a team that’s lost a lot of games with a coach who can’t close games out. That being said I think Caleb will be able to over come flus’ short comings
I actually do expect Caleb to be good this season. However, we also need to temper expectations. There's some people that are acting like he's going to win offensive rookie of the year, get us to the Super bowl, all while throwing for 4,000 yards and 40 touchdowns all in one season. I'm not going to say that's all impossible, but I am going to say it's all unlikely. However, if he's even able to accomplish two of those feats, then it's a successful rookie season for Caleb and it's all the proof that we needed That moving offer Justin was the right move.
He should be the offensive ROY. He's the 1st pick he's gotten a superstar cast to play with. Yes I believe with Justin they would have won at least 10 games so they had should do better with Caleb. They won't . Terrible choice.
No need to temper expectations . Justin would have w I n at least 10 games t h is year. For Poles sake I hope he does but Poles wanted his QB.The Jets had it all figured it out about three years ago too when they picked there QB of the future. Wish we still had Ryan Pace
Penix was my qb 2. So his draft spot is not a issue. I had Atlanta taking Dallas turner. But all this thanks to the falcons is crazy to me. They were never taking a wr at 8. Never
I have to disagree. Odunze dosnt have elite speed. But close. He has elite size. Elite ball skills. Maybe the best ball skills I've ever seen from a wr coming out. I had odunze my 5th best player on the draft. .

@@TheMattTrakker Well, we will be able to watch him and see what happens at pittsburgh. Let's hope we don't get our heads handed to us in the playoffs by the steelers.
@@TheMattTrakker Don't get me wrong. I hope caleb williams is successful, but as we know fifty percent of all quarterbacks chosen in the first round are busts, and he hasn't yet thrown a single pass.
If Payton hated Russ, he would have shot Fields into the sun. Payton likes QBs that can read the defense and make good, quick decisions. That's not Fields, at all.
I think if the falcons would have took Rome the Bears probably would have took brock Bowers and I would have been cool with that and actually I was kind of hoping they would have took him anyways
I was a "we gotta take Caleb" guy, and I definitely expect him to be good this season, and for the Bears to make the playoffs. But... there will be growing pains along the way, and some expectations might be a little over the top, especially from butthurt Fields truthers, who will be looking to crap on him over every little thing, the same way they think the Caleb crowd did to Fields - even though we gave Fields 3 years of failed development.
If you want Bears fandom to come together, calling Fields fans "butthurt truthers" isn't going to heal that division. Taking repeated victory laps and dunking on them over and over isn't going to heal that division. Fields haters always want the Fields fans to "get on board" and put Justin in the past, but they can't bring themselves to do the same. Let's all just move on and support our new QB. Let's worry less about trying to score points on each other and more about the points our revamped offense will score. Go Bears.
@@hammert0es People that still bitch about them moving on from Fields are not part of "bears fandom", they're Fields fans. There is a reason that everyone other than Fields truthers (I mean nationally, not just in Bears fandom) thought it was such a no brainer that the bears would get rid of Fields and draft Caleb @ 1.
Expectation is he will be good ....BUT, not the best he will ever be. Fields is irrelevant to this discussion. The fact we can expect this means picking Caleb was right decision. You wouldn't expect 10 wins from Fields. There's your answer.
It's always about the time and players around Justin. The fact is Justin dosnt have the arm and passing talent to be a nfl qb. It wouldn't matter who around him
Justin's release is very slow. He can't layer throws. He dosnt throw with anticipation. He dosnt scramble to throw. No eyes down field. Those are all required to play nfl qb folks.
These details are like mushrooms popping up but no one thinks to ask the auestion why? He has not been in the opportunity to develop - to say he can not develop requires evidence. Film shows uptake but once he develops he will not decline. Chicago QBs always decline eventually - it is not the weather because Rodgers Starr and Favre proved that. History shows it is the owners manipulation.
Caleb Williams WILL be good. Justin Fields is awful, he would have been awful. Caleb will go for 4250 this year. Christ, Fields might not get that the rest of his career
