Yep, if that’s what the cop wanted. Or more than 20 over also called reckless driving, and you could go to jail. If you were well behaved, and someone could easily come get you, and you admitted everything and played the game, they’ll just impound your car and write you a huge ticket and the pain will be in the wallet, even to jus the the car out. If you’re an asshole, down here in the south, all bets are off. You might not ever see your car again and your overnight experience could be life changing and not romantic. But that dude was hauling fucking ass!! Had to be about 140+! I’ve been passed by cops late at night on the empty highway going easily 110+, and one of them was a Tahoe! That guy had his lights on but I was watching the Charger that just passed me disappear when the Tahoe flew by and it shook the crap out of my Magnum while I was going 70! I think they had an argument about how fast the Tahoe was and they had a race across town. Remind me to tell you about my mom and dad talking trash about whose car was faster, and so they raced from Charleston, SC to Orlando, but the problem was that my mom was way ahead but turned off just out of Charleston thinking she was following my dad but had the wrong car, so my dad was flying down 17S trying to catch a car that was behind him. We didn’t figure that part out until Jacksonville. And this on the way to watch Clemson kick ass in a big bowl game. It was like a side segment out of Cannonball Run.
And that Mustang was going WAY faster than that. And on second viewing the Tahoe passed me much faster than the cop after the Mustang.
