    I got my Leica A60 through your site, and it is one of the best purchases in my tool collection. It has been a must-have; I remember trying to do fine work with the jeweler's glasses and even a loupe before, and what a pain that was until I got the A60. I had considered getting another stand, but the one that comes with the A60 works just fine for me.

    My setup is: lens adapter - objective lens - lens cover.
    You actually dont need the lens adapter if you dont use the maximum zoom cause with this adapter your work distance is narrowed by maybe 1cm.
    If you dont use the adapter and you fully dial the max. Zoom, the internals will hit your objective lens.

    Hi, the Leica a60f with an objective lens comes together with an Adapter right? I didnt see you mention it.

      We made this video before Leica came out with the adapter. Now we only sell lenses with the adapter when the lenses will be used with the A60 or S7E

    You are painting conservator? I was curious to get microscope to work with paintings and investigate samples.

      I am not a painting conservator, I am an engraver and a jeweler. However, I believe the microscope I use would have the same features you would need to examine paintings. You can contact me through www.Engraver.com and we can discuss what you need.

      +TiraMitchell Wrong guess then, but you studio reminds that. Yes, I wont greater zoom than x30 for paintings. These science grade stereomicroscopes are darn expensive through.

      +Vincent Stewart Sorry for the delayed response - your message was caught in a spam filter. Specifications for this microscope are at www.engraver.com/leica-a60-f-engraving-and-stone-setting-microscope-with-flex-arm-stand-and-ring-light/ The head has a very wide tilting range - effectively tilting the full range around the stand's supporting arm

      It is made in a Leica factory located in Singapore. Leica controls all of the manufacturing and quality oversight.

    What happen if I zoom all the way in to 30x with an objective lens without an adapter, will the microscope lens hit the objective lens...

    • @TiraMitchell
      @TiraMitchell  4 ปีที่แล้ว

      You won't be able to get all the way to 30. It will stop at 25. The lens interferes with the zoom unless you're using the adapter

    Is this stand oke or is the Acrobat better? Difference is about $500

    • @TiraMitchell
      @TiraMitchell  4 ปีที่แล้ว

      We recommend this one. It is designed to adjust quickly and easily, so if you have a bench where you're not always using the microscope, this one is easier to move out of the way. Also, if you do big projects and need to move it around your bench, this works great.
      If you like to keep your microscope in the same place, then a simple, traditional boom stand works really well - the A60-S. It comes with a weighted base that can be moved off of your bench, or you can get an optional flange that's 4 inches round and mount it to your bench. Either way, it takes up a lot less room than the Acrobat.
