I have learned a lot from this video and I have also realized how wrong I am whenever I prematurely pass judgment on other people. O Lord, save me from the deadly sins of impatient, pride, hypocrisy, and false humility. Amen!
5years later, I now would like to know how many more benefits of the doubt we should be giving before we should question whether or not we are impotent?
Thank you Father. Could you please address the fact that PBXVI still lives and the argument that his resignation may be invalid? I am a convert due to a very outspoken female Trad blogger and her arguments also sound truthful to me. For instance; have we ever had a "contemplative pope"? A "second" pope that also wears papal white? And one that keeps the title Pope "Emeritus"? Have we ever had this in the 2000 year history of the Church? If you are comparing Pope St. Marcellinus to PF, or more accurately, how we should respond, I would argue that it is vastly different. First, you mentioned how only "a few days" had gone by before St. Marcellinus repented....yet, how long has it been that PF has not answered the dubia? How long can we listen to seemingly "heretical" views from a pope? What will happen if PF dies and we then get another Pope Pius X, would not the "liberal catholics" then have the right to ignore their perceived heretical views of a very orthodox pope? It seems to me that PF is trying to destroy the Church and the papacy, and by not even allowing talk of his possibly being an anti-pope, this too has the potential to destroy the papacy. As it stands today we are forced to decide (like a Protestant) what we choose to believe what a pope we don't agree with teaches or at least allows to be interpreted in his encyclicals. And it is leading many to a crisis of faith, and leading those who "like" him into possible error....Jesus being all loving and merciful without the need to repent. I know that you are a holy priest Father....and so was St. Vincent Ferrer, but St. Catherine of Siena was shown to be correct.
Thanks Patricia. The only thing I disagree with here is PF is NOT Catholic. As long as he was validly baptized he IS Catholic...just a bad Catholic. I just wish Father would answer me. It is my understanding we have never had anything like this in the Church before. A bad pope who apostatized doesn't teach or lead others to heresy. Same with a bad pope who has concubines or children. Or are even homosexuals or communists They don't teach error. And I understand we have had times where two or even three men claimed to be pope at the same time...but this is different. It seems to me one is pretending to be pope and one is pretending not to be pope (even though he's doing things to indicate he still is).
I agree....PBXVI is the true pope. I'm Catholic due to "stumbling" on Ann Barnhardt, which if you know her, you can understand my questioning the good Father here. What she says regarding this pope problem makes a lot more sense to me than anything I read/hear elsewhere.
Thank you for the sermon. We must not completely discard the critical blogger. My experience with many Catholics has shown me that far to many have the type of regard for the Pope that nothing he does is worthy of criticism. He is the Vicar he is not God. Those seeming harsh rebukes maybe the sting our Pope needs to refrain from offering prayers with Jews, Muslims, Heretics and Pagans and instead do what he should to pray publicly for their conversion.
good sermon. Does it mean we cannot have concerns,or speak about them? I don't know as some say If 'Francis is really the pope We have 2 popes. I know I cannot agree with Him. I do not hate him,but just because he says things that are not Catholic, and do not help or teach the faith, I also just ignore those things. And believe what was always taught. Is it not right to find out what is,true and speak about those things? Many do not know the faith, so can be mislead into sin. I am not being critical,I just want the truth,to know what is right. I hold no hatred for The pope,I pray for him. I know no one can judge the pope. Yet It is difficult to see the faith demolished and the suffering it causes. Not all the sspx are cruel, and uncharitable. Though I would say they can lack love at times. So I am in the middle when it comes to that. I do think V2 was a disaster,I was raised v2 and was raised and knew many holy people. They did not put up with nonsense. There is good everywhere,on both sides. We should be one,and not have to give up anything. Forgiving and loving one another. The old traditional priests know their stuff and I learn so much from them. So much that has been forgotten and lost. These are confusing times. Very. We have a right to know and love the truth, and stand up for it,Many saints died for a lot less than what is going on right now. How can one be Catholic and a progressive,or a globalist,or a communist and be Catholic?or a Mason? Just examples. All those things are anti Catholic. it is all confusing. We have the right to 1 FAITH,YET it seems their are so many. .
Jeanne McCarthy You do not know much about the SSPX if you believe them to be cruel and uncharitable. These are people who have been the punching bag of the modernists for decades. Yet, they endure for the sake of God and His Church. The next time you attend a Traditional Latin Mass, remember to thank God for the sacrifices of the SSPX.
Joshua Vig I am speaking of some websites. I love the sspx and It is what I believe the church to be. I dislike the name calling And lack of charity I see on some blogs it's and websites. I have an xxpx parish here, but it is afilliated with V2. So I an confused,It is not just the mass,It is what is taught.
Jeanne McCarthy I would suggest looking at their official website. Anyone can write a blog and claim to speak for the Society. I am also tired of this infighting. It's getting us nowhere. The SSPX doesn't reject V2 in its entirety. I would check out their website, or TH-cam channel if you want to know the details. sspx.org God love you.
Are you aware of the distinction between teachings and infallible Teachings? The only things you have to believe to be Catholic are taught infallibly the rest are not authoritative. Vatican II made no new infallible statements so I really can not understand what you mean. Being out of the communion with the Pope is not right watch out for those followers of the excommunicated Marcel Lefebvre.
Drew Well you must think I am not. All I want is the pure faith,in whole,v2 was not legitimate,Yet immediately everything changed. Religious liberty,is a masonic notion. It makes Catholics just one among many equals. No Jesus IS king,Collegiality, ecuminism,we're not things the church ever believed in. My faith has nothing to do with Lefebre,It has to do all,With what was taught and always be taught. so much has been lost. How can the church of all time be excommunicated ,? People died and suffered for it,and sometimes over much less than is going on now. The 3rd secret Is,and out v2. DO you pay attention to the legitimate prophecies, and the saints and ALL the popes? I trust Mary. She does not lie. I believe the church will never fall,The buildings and the modernist ,are not the church. Souls are the most important things. Not social justice or always apologizing. Why should I have to give up,any of what I believe,? No one else does. It would take many lifetimes to learn about the church. But I do not stop at 1960. It is a wealth of treasure, and no one is being taught today. Divorce, abortion, gay rights, ecuminism, these things were always wrong. It is all about Jesus, andbortionnd his love, andbortionnd our love for him. I hate no one. I know wonderful people on both sides. God judges individual souls. It is how one lives and how one believes. We muse forgive each other, love one another. I look at no one as the enemy. I recognize the real enemy. The world needs the church more than ever today. Souls need the church. I would not dare to say this or that person is going to hell. I do not know the mind of God. I do believe Rome is corrupt, and I cannot support it. We are not to follow error out of blind obedience. We must believe what was always taught, and know why.
The SSPX are not sedevacantists. In fact, the holy father has granted SSPX priest the faculty to hear confession. Would he have done that for a group who did not recognize him as the legitimate Pope? Bishop Fellay speaks more lovingly about Pope Francis than many of the "Catholic" priests presented by Sensus Fidelium. I like Sensus Fidelium, but the people running it need to be more careful about the sermons and lectures they present on their site.
Great sermon especially to the Sedevacantists
Thank you Father. I really needed to hear this now.
Thank you father for the historical holy event; and we pray for those who judge others. Amem.

Good content as always.
Amen.Thank you Father this gave me peace. Prayers for our Loving Pope..

Thank you Lord for this Holy Priest who's teaching has saved my from my great error.

QueenieQKat thank God the holy father did bc they didn’t have valid confessions prior to it. Nor marriages. We pray for fully unity
@Sensus Fidelium fortunately, they did. We pray for the end of the current crisis in the church

"There but by the grace of God, go I."
I don't think you understood the quote... like at all
Very true! Thinking about the choice Pope St Marcellinus and the early faithful faced is frightening I fear I would do the same thing he did.
