What an interesting way to make Ocean waves! I've used a different technique involving pearl white clay and ragged edges of clay thru the pasta machine but I definitely want to try this method as well! Very nice effect 😍
Oh it's bold of you and original ! For sure, this technique is totally new for me. Bravo ! I need to make sure I understand correctly this process. 1 you cure your pieces in the oven. 2 Then you lay some UV resin somewhere on the piece and you drop some foam on the uncured resin, then quickly you cure the resin. You say the resin is still a bit sticky. Q: Does it mean that you let the piece under the lamp for a very short while ? 3 you examine your piece, (Q: Do you eliminate the excess bubbles ramaining ??) and again under UV .. Q: Is it to finish the curing of the resin ? 4 you use some white acrylic paint to delicately reveal the crests of the resin which appeared thanks to the bubbles.. 5 UV resin on the piece, avoiding the place of the bubbles. And then a long curing of 5 mns. Q: Is that right Samantha ? You would be very kind (as you are all the time..) to answer my questions ... Merci beaucoup !
Yes. That is correct. I didn't need to eliminate any extra bubbles, but you might need to depending on the piece. I'd cure it again under the UV light a second time before doing that though. Other than that, yes, that's the exact process.
This was by far the coolest technique I have come across and I’m going to try it asap! Thank you Samantha! Also would you please link to your best skinner blend tutorial? Thank you! ❤
Beautiful pieces. There's a noise that appears in the video after the pieces are baked, though. I have seen Daniel do this with his resin pieces a few times.
No. I used straight cernit metallics. However, when I use other metallic clay brands such as premo or kato, I will mix 1 color to 1 translucent to enhance the effect. Cernit's metallics are good enough with out this trick.
I have your cutters for skinner blend and use the 8cm for 4 color blend when I tried this project. I don't have width guides but I do your trick by pushing to the side. My darkest color blue is way to far from the sand/beige color to get full range of colors even with my longest cutters and your circle donut. Suggestions????????
You could try making one of these. th-cam.com/video/Jr5U0LYlcKs/w-d-xo.html It takes a little more time than squishing the blend up, but works just as well.
Samantha, what a very clever girl you are!! It does look like the bubbles you see on the ocean shore.❤🏖 Also, can you please give me the proper link. Or tell me why after you make the imprint, you carve it off? TIA
Absolutely stunning earrings! Love the bubble effect too. I haven’t seen that used with resin before.
Absolutely wonderful! Makes me want to go to the beach!, 😅😊❤

Great technique, especially for your water scene - perfect blend
Well, that technique is really effective 🧐 Very cool!
Definitely a new technique for me! I love it! Thanks, again, Samantha for a great tutorial!
Great use of this technique. you are only lacking a very small starfish :)
Spectacular ❤
Thanks so much! That is so cool. I am new to clay, and can't wait to try this.
I love everything beach-y. This might be how I break in my UV kit once my Studio is set up in a month or so. Thanks for sharing!
Pretty skinner blend! You nailed the beach/water colors. Great technique too!

These are so beautiful! You nail it! I didn't know how to add the bubbles ❤😮
Beautiful!
Love this! Thank you
Fantastic work thank you
Do you need to put something over the acrylic paint, or is it stable because the resin was only partially cured when the acrylic was applied?
The resin's still a little sticky and the paint sticks to it well enough.
Very cool. ❤ I'm going to the beach in a couple months. I'm going to make these for my trip.
Beautiful!!! I can’t wait to try this one!!
Really cool technique!
Beautiful, can't wait to try it. 🙏❤
