I do have to say that isn't the smartest house purchase considering how you make a living evaluating audio gear!🙄🙄🤔🤔🥺 It's like a Master 5 star chef cooking you your last meal using Cooper clad aluminum pans and then heating it up in a microwave. 🤔🤫🤯 The basement is just creepy. Basic recipe, normal house, average room, not a Church hall or a Den of horrors with spiders crawling all over the place. Did you even see the house before you bought it? Perfect house if you are in a church choir, not evaluating speakers at your level of success. Headphones ofcourse it doesn't matter except for the annoying echo as you speak. May sound mean but I'm sure I am not the only person who thinks this with each passing video since you moved. I'm sure the recent views tell the real answer!🤔🤔🥴 If I would have shown you that house layout that I might buy for an audiophile evaluation setup and paid you as a consultant, you would have said I was crazy and rightfully so!🙄🙄🤔🤔🤯😳

Unfortunately that's like asking Ben & Jerry's vanilla ice cream or Haagen-Dazs which one taste better to you? All I can tell you is I had the SVS pinnacle's thought they were okay but returned them. Bought the JBL 590's and then wound up getting a whole home theater setup around them, that's how much better they sounded than the Prime Pinnacle from SVS. To me! For the sale price of five hundred bucks each including free shipping back if you don't like them. I mean how can you lose except for the pain in the ass of boxing them back up I suppose!🤔😉😇 The same thing with SVS in regards to their shipping regarding returns so you can have an A B off comparison if you like and have the available credit.🤔😉 I believe you can do the return thing with Crutchfield regarding the Klipsch but with a $75 return fee.

It's a weird room for sure. Not an obvious spot to put a TV either with the fireplace in the way and the doors on the other wall. Is your home theater/TV room pretty much just in the basement? I own these speakers and love them. Was looking for the closest thing I could get to being at a live rock concert and a live jazz club and these deliver vs everything else I tried out that wasn't twice the cost. They work best with lots of clean power regardless of the efficiency. Forget the tube amps. Power these with any audiophile brand 250 watt solid state amp of equal cost and turn down the treble 2 or 5 dbs. You will be literally blown away if you get anywhere near reference level. You can shift money from a high end sub into these for home theater when paired with high power. A bi-product of owning these in a suburb is getting to know the local cops.

Yes! The new tweeter/horn is supposed to me much smoother than the original RF7i', which I owned for 13 years. The bottom end will be the same - the RF7's pound out an astounding amount of bass, especially with a good quality powerful amp.

I will say I was never that impressed by them. I found them extremely punchy right in the 60 to 80htz range with almost no extension. I don't know of the commercial versions we ran were different in drivers or Xovers.
I will say that my music taste and use has changed. I think if I listened today, I would find alot I would like with the horns. Especially now doing alot of home theater, the vocals would rock, and today's content almost demands serious subs.

My same thoughts exactly. I saved $700 by going with my Cherry 7II's three years ago instead of brand new III's. The II's with the cherry front wood veneer look more high end and classy than the III's. With my Marantz amp, my II's are not bright or harsh sounding at all. Warm sounding, yet still preserve that live Klipsch dynamic sound. Pairing them with the right amp is key. I've also read some reviews where folks have listened to both speakers side by side an pick the II's because the new horn on the III's now sound too muted.

Mezzanine in a massive living room....I mean, you could literally live just in that part of the house ( and you probably do spend enough time there to call it living in it ). I am considering Klipsch RP8000F as my daily driver speakers so thanks for reviewing these too.

Love you Zeos, but I'm gonna have to help you out with your Greek pronunciation of the poor Greek manufacturer of the tube amps in this video- I'm Sophocles, which is way easier to say than TSAH-keer- ree-diss. The TSA is pronounced like Tsetse fly. The emphasis is on the first syllable of the four syllables. I'm not a Greek scholar by any means but I have been Greek all of my life and have immersed myself in the culture and the language! I hope this helps my man, and keep up the great work you do. I've benefitted from the yard sales and have benefitted from you channel in general throughout this shitty Covid thing we call a pandemic!!

Nice explanation Dean Sophocles, but let me point out a minor correction: the emphasis (stressing) is at the "ree" syllabe. And btw the "d" is pronounced like "th" in " the", "they" etc. The name in Greek scripture is Τσακιρίδης.

So if you're going to use subwoofers in your HT anyway, it seems like it isn't worth it to spend that much on these big towers. Need a comparison of the Heresy's with subs and these.

I had four pair of the of the Klipsch klf thirties which rocked the world.😅 Two pair of the klf ponies with augmented rock in the world and then two pair of the klf tens which put a little more rumble under your feet in a room that's 42ft lawn 25 ft wide with 10-foot feelings. No please be reminded I bought all these speakers back between 1998 and the year 2008 swear to God that the best speakers bat flips ever produced in the way of a tower but sadly they decided to discontinue them.. really got to wonder why they were beautiful😊😊

I am late to this video, but here let me summarize the comments section for anyone later than me:
    1. Zeos, were you aware that carpet exists?
    2. Zeos, I take what you say audio wise as gospel because I respect your intellect, but at the same time I am worried that you are actually going to just rip out beams that support your ground floor! Also, what is sarcasm?
    3. Nice new house, oh, you have had it since August? Gonna be hard to act like I am a big fan now.
    4. Oh also, Klipsch RF7 are really good.
    5. Once again Zeos, carpets are a thing, like in small sections sometimes called throw rugs. I am surprised you haven't thought of this since August, but we are here to help.

My Ohm H's have this, and I had to drop it down a notch because the super tweeters wanted to murder my ears at any listening level. I have a pair of JBL L19s with the knob on the back that adjusts the crossover anywhere from all tweeter or all woofer. Some of the best sounding speakers I ever heard have all been made in the 70's.

To answer your "what next" question the Klipsch palladium was the "next" when it existed.
Get your hands on some cornwalls if you can. One 15 inch with two horns. B stock is about the same price as the RF7IIIS.

If you don't want to do THAT speaker company. You can do Zu Audio instead which also does large driver high efficiency speakers which has a range from sub 1000 to 40k speakers.
There's also some other boutique speaker manufactures/sellers like Decware which make a variety of full range driver, open baffle, omni directional and modular (can be bookshelf or plugged into a tower stand to give it more resonance/low end) They also do a range of tube amps across the price range.

In my opinion a set of heresys with a decent sub set up correctly trumps any of the bigger full range klipsch heritage. I’ve compared the two and the heresy is much cleaner and tight. Also more versatile

    • @johto
      @johto 3 ปีที่แล้ว

Yep. I'm satisfied with my Heresy III + SVS subwoofer. Once integrated and DSP'd carefully, that combo plays seamlessly.

Why would you say the heresy is more versatile then the forte? I want a big forward soundstage and would like to avoid a sub as much as I can without sacrificing muscular bottom end.

I think the Behringer amp is the issue needing a lesser amp for the horn.
Would a calmer A/B amp like Parasound make it so that it would make these sound great with out the fuss of bi amping?
Just hundreds of D amp power seems too much for these.
The Ohms, ok but not a sensitive Klipsch.
That is my way of saying I don't want to have to fiddle with it. Lol
What do you think Mr. Z?

Hi Zeos. Dont get made at me but I think you should get a reference amp for testing. Because I have the rp 8000f which is a very similar speaker to these and I don't that problem with the tweeter like at all. Granted its running off a 4000 dollar class ab amp with 400w per channel, but yeah I don't hear any imbalance at high volume. I know your not one to review/ spend that much on amplifier but i thought I'd throw it out there 👌🏾
