As a Hewitt`s fan I have to admit that Federer is genius.
After Davis Cup 2003, after match like THAT another player would be broken mentally. But not Federer. Instead he improve his game - serve return, speed, baseliner abilities, very soon won Masters Cup and after AO 2004 became invincible for Hewitt. Who would imagine that this was Hewitt`s last victory over Federer until... 2010th?

Awesome video! It's funny. People who say that Federer is better now than he was 15 years ago should look at his H2H against Hewitt and Roddick. During Federer's prime from 2004-2007 he was 12-0 against Hewitt, but after that he was 5-2. From 2004-2007 he was 8-0 against Roddick, but after that he was 6-2. It's not like Federer became a horrible player after his prime, but he definitely started losing matches that he never lost when he was high in confidence during his prime.

Saying Fed's prime ended at 26 is ridiculous though. Just because Nadal and Novak were good enough to start beating him. Fed was 15-0 against Hewitt up to 2010. So cherrypicking these windows of H2H is not telling the full story.

Are you kidding? Everyone knows that Hewitt and Nalbandian are main reasons why Federer is so good. Federer`s idol in tennis was Pete Sampras, so Federer also tried to be serve&volley player like Sampras, but against Nalbandian and Hewitt that "old fashion" style did not work. Federer understood tht is time to change something. In autumn 2003 Federer decided to change his serve&volley for more modern style, improved baseliner skills... And in Australian Open 2004 he beated both of them - Hewitt and Nalbandian (he defeated Nalbandian first time in Masters Cup 2003).

I you read Federer‘s biography written by René Stauffer (a Swiss sports journalist, who updates his edition regularly, so I would wait and buy it until Federer retires), you will see that it was a mix between his serve-and-volley style but also his mental weakness at the beginning of his career that made Federer lose to Hewitt so often. Especially his problems at the beginning of his career are very interestingly depicted in this great book.

That Davis Cup win from 0-2 by sets in 2003 totally changed the dynamics of this rivalry
Before that Hewitt always felt more confident and superior, even when Roger was playing much better which resulted in 6-2 run in favor of Lleyton. From that Davis Cup win when Roger overcome himself and crushed Lleyton, it was already 17-2 in favor of Federer
The same dynamics changes could be find in Roger's rivalries with Nadal (23-10 in favor of Nadal prior to AO-17 and 6-1 in favor of Roger from that moment) and Djokovic (10-4 in favor of Roger prior to US-10 and 23-13 in favor od Djokovic after that match)

The info in this video is incorrect. It was Hewitt who came from 2 sets down to beat Federer in that Davis cup semi-final. Federer said it was one of the worst losses of his career. After that match the h2h was 7-2 in Hewitt's favor. Hewitt had also beaten Federer at the Hopman cup in an exo, so the overall h2h was 8-2 when Federer turned it around from 2004 onwards
