I always love to sing and praise the Lord when I'm listening, but some of the hymns are new to me. Without your great arrangements that feature the melody, I would have a hard time learning the hymn. Thank you so much for posting these piano hymns. My mother plays the piano at our church, so I grew up on these. As I went off to college, I found myself missing these old hymns more and more. Hi Levi, my piano is a Yamaha Clavinova CVP-407 which is about 10 years old now. I find the keyboard feel to be quite good and the speakers are nice and loud, but sound quality is just OK (though it sounds better in person than recorded). Before 2015 my videos used the Clavinova sound, but since then I have used Pianoteq software to create the sound for my videos. Pianoteq takes MIDI files from my Clavinova or any other MIDI keyboard and makes them sound a lot like a real grand piano. I am able to connect the keyboard to my laptop with a MIDI-to-USB cable and listen to the Pianoteq sound in real time from my laptop. So if you go with Pianoteq most any keyboard would work - I had recently considered getting a Yamaha P255 or P515 keyboard since they're lighter and smaller than my 200 pound CVP-407. Another possibility is to see how the new Yamaha keyboards sound, as I'm sure their built-in sound quality has improved over 10 years. There are also a number of good new options from Kawai, Casio and Roland, so if you are thinking about those then local music stores would be a good place to try them out.
