Why Bother with a 2007 Kia Picanto?

Damn Nick, back at it again with another awkward episode of "Why Bother?", where I try to find the most bang for buck when it comes to a cheap daily driver.
Featured this time is Zoë's 2007 Kia Picanto; does it tick the boxes of practicality, performance and fun? We'll see.

A cat lady at heart, I have naturally ended up cutting my parenting teeth on three rodents considerably further down the food chain. My short attention span causes me to buy a new crappy old car every few months, and then spend weeks trying in vain to make it not crappy. Rinse and repeat. Also vegetarian, I believe avocados and mayonnaise are the staples of a healthy diet.

@@tanakabento1710 for me driving uphill, we need to have a good start, so you can keep a little distance with the car in front of you, and a combination between 3rd and 2nd gear, but if its fully stop in uphill, 1st and 2nd gear combination.. Picanto is small size engine car, so we must keep the momentum of the gear shifting..i drove my wife picanto numerous time through uphill area..

I found a $500 2007 Picanto while looking for a cheap sh!tbox of a car to mess around with and make it something it’s not meant to be. Will the Picanto handle “slight” engine modifications? Also, is it rear wheel drive?

Got my grandma's Picanto from 2007 as a gift recently. Everyone is scared by the engine's noise 😂
I find it quite funny. Especially when people on the pavement are like "what is that sound ? What mighty engine do we hear approaching ?"
Then, they turn around and witness the Great Picanto, in all its glory, going as fast as a toddler on his tricyle. 😂🎉
