@TlatoaniItzcoatl, the EF Kaweco is going to be about what a Fine Preppy is. If you want finer than that, you'll pretty much need to go with a Japanese EF.
Well it's true that paper is a huge factor with a writing experience, but you don't have to have glossy paper to use fountain pens. True, more ink resistant paper will be smoother and show off the ink better, but if you're using rough paper it's going to feel rough no matter what pen you're using....
I have ordered a medium nib, but the fountain pen was delivered with a fine nib, and after a day of using it I was starting get doubts that I should have ordered an extra fine nib. My favourite non-fountain pen is a Pilot G-Tec-C4 and it has a super extra fine nib, which I adore. But this video just saved me realizing that the Kaweco extra fine is not at all close to the fineness of the mentioned Pilot, so I decided I don't need the hassle of returning the original fountain pen/nib. I will need to get a Japanese fountain pen next ;)
Love The Goulet Pen Co. no one else (taht I am aware of) has such a variety of Kaweco pen sizes in the US. Brian, are you thinking of also carrying the Kaweco Sport Rollerball (a rollerball that uses fountain pen ink)?
Hey Brian, thank you very much for the review. I love the transparent version. I use an EF in all my Fountain Pens and wished to try something a little different. I shall buy the Broad nib in the transparent version. Does the Kaweco Classic Sport use the standard international cartridges? Thank you. Warm regards. DisabledPrepper
just got a kaweco sport broad nib. You know, ALL fountains pens will only write as good as the paper the are used on. So then you gotta find a glossy kind of paper so the ink flows nice. Tedious. I am a big fan of handwriting but in the end, maybe i should just stick with a Bic. Might try a Lamy soon, though.
how-come you guys dont carry these anymore??? :( i had to order mine from jetpens... and im not a big fan of them; always issues with them. anyway, that's my little rant but yeah i was a bit surprised u didnt carry them anymore.
I bought the Fine nib but it is even thinner than the EF you're showing. I don't really like it because I can't really see the properties of the ink. Is it possible that there is something wrong with mine?
I received two MB 149 as gifts and I am extremely disappointed, not being ungrateful. They're scratchy, horrible ink flow etc... They said I can have the nibs exchanged. Hence reason I need help. I love the Kaweco brand, Medium and fine. So what size nib should I get the 149's replaced with. Kaweco M, my favorite
I have a fine platinum preppy is the kaweco extra fine around the same size as that then? because the fine preppy was still not fine enough for me, and I was looking to get an extra fine kaweco or lamy but should I go with a Japanese pen then?
I bought the the coconut frost one from Amazon a few days ago and it only writes one way and IS SO THIN! every video thé fine looks much thicker and smooth compared to what my kaweco makes. AND ITS SO SCRATCHY! I’m using faber Castell ink cartridges. I’m not sure if it is the ink im using is making it worse In any way?
I have a Kaweco Sport with a Fine nib and am thinking of buying an Extra Fine nib for a finer line. It sounds like the line width variation between the F and EF is pretty minimal. Do you think it's even worth it to get the EF nib?
It's not a huge difference at all. In my experience, I find the EF to just have more feedback when writing more so than a thiner line width. Not sure the EF would be what you're looking for necessarily. Custom nib grind might be the best option. - Colin
I received my order from Goulet Pens today. Im not sure what I was expecting, but this pen is tiny LOL I'm getting used to it. I wish the EF was more fine. I like really really fine but it still works for me.
Kaweco's are definitely more pocket pens, but still good writers. Be sure to check out our Pen Plaza (www.gouletpens.com/pen-plaza) to compare the size to other pens you're used to, and Nib Nook (www.gouletpens.com/nib-nook) to see exactly how fine the EF is on certain pens. - Colin
I appreciate this nib comparison video because the nib sizes are being compared using the same ink!
It's crazy to see how far he's come from here.
It truly is amazing and I‘m very happy about that.

My pleasure :)
now we can buy just the nibs thank God... the fine and extra fine carry very little difference, it's amazing to see. thank you so much for the video!
Thanks! Glad to help ;)

exactly what I was looking for. So me going for Kaweco Sport EF, instead of Lamy Safari. Will get the Lamy one later.
Nice reviews. :)

I have one with a BB: it puts down a line about 0.8 mm thick and with fair pressure to 1.0 mm.
Wow, this is an oldie.
Ugh such a big jump to broad... I want one between medium and broad :P

Please, what size nib does the Kaweco Sport come with? Is there a standard size they come with like medium? Thanks in advance
How does a Mont blanc compare to a Kaweco Medium nib, as far as flow, width etc..? Thank you
why are fountain pens so addicting?

could you compare it to other brands nibs like shearer and lamy?
I have Kaweco Al Sport B nib but it works like medium thats very weird

obviously cherry picked, kaweco pens are known for skipping like hell
