1:16 Lightskin DI in the middle ended up being my SDI last November. Not only that but we was his last platoon as a DI in general. SSgt Hilgendorf, that dude was crazy if you messed up but honestly one of the most supportive SDI’s Parris Island had offered. I started off as one of the worst but he saw something in me that the other DI’s didn’t see at the time & eventually helped me to be at least one of the recruits who went from messing up every day to eventually one of the best. We had those everywhere in San Diego lol my senior drill instructor for graduation he did the imagine dragons “radioactive” with his voice like that i smirked lol it was tight
When I went through Marine boot camp each platoon were given numbers mine was 1139 (hollywood Marine) didn't get a name until you were attached to the fleet. Semper Fi to all my fellow Marines past and present

The graduation ceremony was outside on the parade deck. This was family day.
The parade deck also gets out under repair a lot both my initial and final drill had to be in the all weather facility because of the repairs
