God, there's nothing else i want more in my life. Joining at 27, should have gone a long time ago. This is how i want to spend the rest of my youth! Im getting that EGA, and do my part for my nation!
I remember D.I. SSgt Hall's final order to me: "Do GOOD things, always." It has never left me. 21 years later. I still remember. Wow!! Lots of crazy thoughts about how much this great ceremony has changed in the last 20+ years...so much for the BETTER! When did they start letting vet family, bros/dads, etc... join in on the EGA ceremony?? THIS IS GREAT!!! A chaplain speech??? WOW! "From the Yellow Footprints to THIS Monument of Valor..." Wow!! Wish we had this moment back in 2002. Would have been awesome. I am simply AWESTRUCK by how so much better the Marine Corps is getting with the little stuff like this! SEMPER FI, gents. Keep evolving and adapting. Keep being the BEST Marine Corps, with every new generation!!
They told me they didnt always do this when i got my ega in 07. I was also a part of the last wave of Marine recruits to not be issued a pair of dress blues. If what i hear is true they started issuing 1 pair of dress blues which is pretty sweet

getting the EGA is probably one of the best feelings a marine has gone thru
I was in second phase when they got their eagle globe and anchor ceremony. It just pushed me to keep moving forward.

They just have you "re-affirm" your oath if that makes sense, almost like renewing vows of marriage
@@USMCTexan re-affirming the Oath of Enlistment makes sense to this Old Soldier.
Iv been in the Navy for 19.5 years but huge respect to the USMC!!!!
