Mark Lindsay was the lead singer of Paul Revere & The Raiders in the 60's-70's. He had a big hit when he went solo with "Arizona". The band had a lot of great songs such as "Indian Reservation", "Just Like Me", "Kicks", "Hungry", "Let Me", "Mr. Sun, Mr. Moon", "Good Thing", "Him Or Me - What's It Gonna Be?" etc.

Indian Reservation was recorded for a Mark Lindsay record, the record label vetoed this.

There was a special feeling of and artistic beauty back then. Especially music. All of it was magical and wonderful for me as a young teenager without adult concerns yet.

Mark Lindsay has always been a great talent. Very underrated. Has had some wonderful solo efforts also. Life Out Loud is the name of a solo project he did in 2014. Just absolutely amazing cd. Great video Harri.

I love Mark Lindsay as a solo artist or with the Raiders.

Both this song and "Arizona" were written by Kenny Young and have almost identical chord progressions. "Arizona" was the bigger hit, reaching #10 on the Billboard charts. In the mid-60s, Lindsay and Paul Revere & The Raiders were considered America's answer to The Rolling Stones, with punchy, hard r&b-inflected rock songs like "Hungry," "Kicks," "Just Like Me," and "Stepping Stone." However, Jagger/Richards soon out-classed them by writing better and more inventive music. By 1970, The Raiders were steps closer to becoming a Las Vegas concert act. Mark Lindsay (who started out as the sax player in the band) deserved a better, longer-lasting career. He was a very good singer and energetic performer. Thanks Jim and Harri.

This song is played in the movie "The Grey Man" with Ryan Gosling. The song is played and there is a major fight scene. Fight scenes often have music in the background, and you realize that this time, the fighters can hear the music too. Also, it's a good movie.

Nice song so was Arizona by Mark. Was the lead singer for a totally forgotten very good group mid 60ish Paul Revere and the Raiders.

When I was child my older sister bought me my very own first record album, my choice. For some reason unknown to me today (not really my kind of music these days) I picked Mark Lindsay's Arizona album and played the crap out of it. I still have it. Memories 😀

I kind of get the idea that he might have been the singer in Paul Revere & The Raiders.
But I might be wrong 😅

Arizona, Indian Reservation with some Raiders in the background are examples of great simply crafted pop songs. Fantastic melody. And Mark's voice, wowsers!!!!

This was one of my favorite songs of 1970; I liked it better than the similar hit "Arizona." Mark was a fine singer. As others have said, he sang lead for Paul Revere and the Raiders in the '60s. In musical terms, I'd say the late '60s and early '70s were essentially the same period. In fact, culturally speaking, I think what we think of as "the Sixties" actually ran from about 1964 until about 1972.

One of my favorites as a kid haven't heard it in years still sounds good. I always thought it sounded a bit like David Cassidy.
    Thanks for the flashback! ✌

Harri, as I know that you know, the 60s-70s-80s are so full of catchy beautiful melodies like this one. So many that many almost go forgotren today. Boy can Mark deliver a powerful, beautiful, simple pop ballad.

From Mark's solo album, "Silver Bird", 1970, backed by The Wrecking Crew, this was a great tune with a great melody and fabulous backing instruments and of course Mark's vocals. So great while he was in Paul Revere and the Raiders. It made it to Number 25 on the Billboard Hot 100's in the US and Number 10 in Canada. Great reaction Harri, I think you got the plot perfectly. Thanks Harri and Jim. 👏👏 Cheers from Canada 🇨🇦

Late 60's, maybe 1970. Mark Lindsay is the absolute master of song "hooks". Listen to Arizona and it will confirm what I just said. He also does a masterful version of Neil Diamond's " And The Grass Won't Pay No Mind".

In 2013, Mark made a fine garage rock album entitled "Life Out Loud" with New Jersey band The Doughboys backing him. Some great rock and roll on the album.
