Wasn't much of a person to look into studios back then so I didn't expect a lot of these animes to come from MAPPA
So nice to see them getting so much recognition now. With their good portfolio, I wish we'll see them venture to more seinen titles in the future.

was not expecting that transition from zombie land saga to probably one of the most emotional moments in Dororo, got me right in the feels there

Inyuashiki is definetly PEAK MAPPA. It might not have the most *charming* animation, but it's criminal how untalked-of this anime is, it has such interesting characters and contrasts.
But i still didn't like how they compiled a whole arc at the last episode

Zankyou No Terror was the first Mappa show that caught my attention because of the grounded character artstyle. You don't see a lot of realistic, gritty, or sharp designs like that nowadays. Most are just moe blobs or cheap to animate generic character faces masked only by good effects.
When MAPPA did realistic style again, it's being hated on (Chainsaw Man) Truly a sad world we live in
What a sad world and crazy that its the realism of CSM that made me fall in love with it
@@lazy_biscuits08 yeah, I didn’t enjoyed Mappa’s take on CSM. It isn’t bad, there’s some gorgeous scenes and the photography is beautiful, but I just think this gritty realistic approach misses the point of CSM so hard that it becomes funny in a sense.
Especially when it comes to the more stupid fun moments of the manga, the anime drops hard the ball in the comedic timing and delivery of the jokes. And the action its well animated, gorgeous to look at, but it feels hollow and bleak. A far cry to how expressive the fight scenes and Denji’s Chainsaw form were in the manga. Like, it’s style over substance, this style of animation does absolutely nothing to enhance what Chainsaw Man was and conveyed in the manga.
This realistic style has its place, I just think the place ain’t Chainsaw Man.
@@MarceloZ2 wdym the author of CSM loves its cinematic feels too. It makes perfect sense given Fujimoto is a huge cinephile and writes his works like a film. It sounds like YOU missed the point of CSM lol.
@@lazy_biscuits08 it isn’t the cinematic feel the problem, it’s the grounded realism. Chainsaw Man is everything but grounded and realistic, fuck, the main character can turn his head into a chainsaw. At least in the action scenes, there should be more color, more vibrant animation, more creativity in how Denji moves and fights instead of emulating 1:1 how a person would actually fight if they had chainsaws for arms. I’m aware that Fujimoto likes Mappa’s work in general and that he trusted them to do whatever because he knew he would enjoy the end result, but I don’t like Mappa, and I can’t bring myself to enjoy their take on Chainsaw Man, no matter how much Fujimoto himself may like. And as far as I know, he was very hands off with the adaptation because he trusted Mappa, so some decisions of the anime diverging in tone and feel from how the manga portrayed it makes sense, since Fujimoto probably weren’t there to course correct them given his trust vow that they would do a job that would satisfy him.
Also, I don’t hide my distaste for Mappa. I don’t enjoy most of their works when it comes to the animation, including Jujutsu Kaisen, Attack on Titan Final Season, God of High School, and so on. You could very well say I am biased against Mappa and I’m clouding my judgment, I don’t hide that and you would probably be right.
3 years have passed since the release of the first episode of Dorohedoro, and I'm still waiting for at least some information about the season 2 or something else.
Hey that's mainly due to director and CG team being buzy on other shows. Yuichiro Hayashi, the director of Dorohedoro is currently directing AoT, and the CG team is busy with multiple shows. One AoT is done and finished in fall, whe should get news about Dorohedoro s2 after Hayashi gets a good rest.
@@simplyrohith2163 yah, I know, I hope after AOT some information will appear and Yuichiro will sleep well 😅. Just the fact that Mappa took on Jujutsu Kaisen and Chainsaw Man put me on my guard.
@@SketlaSnake it's still debatable if he gets to continue Dorohedoro which he himself chose to direct or Mappa will give him a new show. But I think it's most likely Dorohedoro s2. Since directors like Kori Makita, Goso will be busy with other shows he's perfect for second run of Lizardboi.
@@simplyrohith2163 Highly doubt that he'll get any rest tho since he started AoT immediately after Dorohedoro. Same might happen after AoT's over.

Terror in resonance is one of the most underrated thriller anime out there.
And personally the best animated ones out there.
If the first two episodes weren't a total, nonsensical bore, maybe it wouldn't be so underrated. ZnT tries too hard to be deep and artful.
Nah the first 5 episode were good but the next episode turned a telenovela.
I can clearly see the difference between the animation in AOT season 4 part 1 and part 2 and the peak in part 3. I LOVE THE EVOLUTION.

Man Hajime no Ippo is honestly one of my favorite if not my favorite shounen series
Its my fav series its peak.the motivation in the series is unmatched

No one talks about Dorohedoro.
I've finished the manga and I say Dorohedoro is the best manga I've read so far. Most mind blowing ever, never read a manga more twisted than Dorohedoro, it's kinda Dark/Gore/Comedy/Action/Sci-Fi it's a very surreal theme but not OA. I don't care if the animation is CGI, I hope Mappa will continue Dorohedoro.
Dorohedoro have the best word in my opinion in anime

@@veinerves4684 Just the soundtrack and atmosphere. The show does have it's problems like a weak antagonist and slight lack of backstory exposition. But honestly that doesn't really matter to me when the show made me feel the day it did. The setting, art style, characters, and soundtrack all make for an incredibly effective and emotional experience.

Damn shingeki no bahamut is my all time favorite art style and storyline i had no idea MAPPA was the studio behind it it’s a flawless work!
Zankyou no terror was a nice surprise as well!
Well to be fair the character designer is the one that develops the artstyle for a show while the studio just applies that artstyle to the animation. I also love the heck out of the artstyle for Shingeki no Bahamut and the character designer for the show is none other than Naoyuki Onda. He's been a character designer for shows like Ergo Proxy, Batman: Gotham Knight (movie), the Berserk: Golden Age Arc movies, and Gantz, all which have a more mature/semi-realistic artstyle to them. As for the story, Mappa also outsourced two different screenwriters for season 1 & 2. The first season had Keiichi Hasegawa and the second season had Shizuka Oishi. I personally didn't know this until now but it makes sense why the 2nd season feels a little more shoujo-romance-esque than the first. Oishi-san said she didn't really like the first season as much as she wanted to and tried to give Azazel more depth in the second season, which worked amazingly lol. I also feel like it wasn't until recently that mappa really gained their own touch to their artstyle which can be described as thin line-art followed by heavy use of shadows to give form

i watches terror in Tokyo a couple of years ago .......ity was so good that i still feel sad about the death of both the main characters

Basically good shadows in sketches and crazy cgi
I quite like MAPPA but I find sometimes their 3D/CGI is very inconsistent and sticks out like a sore thumb compared to their 2D but when they blend it good, it's insanely good for example JJK is in my opinion their most consistent piece of animation in terms of quality, everything seems to flow properly and I think thats the quality that should be retained for MAPPA

@@TheDefector123 Check out Nanami vs Mahito fight lol. The background compositing in that fight was beyond bad. Look at the brick textures, they're mega scuffed.
The rock textures in Jogo's Domain Expansion scene looked like they were just overlayed over the key animation, they didn't even try to match the direction of the rocks and stuff.
Everything in JJK is literally piss-colored, sad that the animation's not at its best when the compositing is garbage.
Itadori and Nobara vs Eso and Kechizu was ruined by the background composite. Ignore the characters for a second and pay attention to the backgrounds, they look like overlayed images. Compare the compositing to something else like Demon Slayer, you can see how bad JJK's compositing is.
You don't care for the bad compositing because of the pretty animation. I get it though, JJK is super consistent animation-wise. Can't say the same for the compositing and everything else except for the animation and soundtrack. At least JJK 0 was saved, the compositing on that movie was actually good.
