I’m learning that calendar and commitment to a session are difficult with my friends busy lives. Appreciate the lessons here @FlintFireforge. Great advice!
Love your tip about open-ended attendance questions! When i started charging for games i naturally started doing this. The most difficult part for me to prep is the adventure itself. For years i ran games off the cuff with just my imagination and some random tables. The storyline seems to be the last thing i think to prep.
Great video. Just started to DM for my Support Group. I do Support Work for teens and young adults and so far they absolutely love our DnD sessions. There is some great tips in the video, and i do try to be as much proactive as i can be for each session. I have still ALOT to learn, but as long as we all are having fun that is the main goal for me as DM. Thanks, Dave
Listening to you list off each of these I wasn't too surprised by any until, "Get some rest," - that's really good advice. I'd had a hard week this week with an illness knocking me back too. I still managed to get my game on, but wouldn't have managed if I hadn't taken enough time for myself to rest up. Great vid as always!
Hey, a new Friday video! Good topic Paul! Thx

Thanks. The adventure prep is easiest for me. The hardest is doing off the cuff stuff because I'd wind up painting myself in a corner lol.

Thanks Dave! Those teens and young adults are lucky to have an awesome, proactive, DM. :)

This is a good video, I like the John Maxwell quote at the end.
These are good tips, I plan to utilize them soon.
Be Proactive, Not Reactive!
Thanks!
Yeah just struggle with getting out my own headspace and analysis paralysis.
Yeah, I hate that too.
