      It’s true... I got bullied relentlessly in one of the schools I went to and someone actually tried to attack me so I fought back and won. I tried to explain I was defending myself and the principal threatened to call the police on me and gave me a week of suspension. This was back in the early 2000’s, I can’t imagine what a dystopian nightmare it must be now.

    When I moved to a new school and had no friends in that school i was fine, i would try to be funny and it worked. As soon as i took a stretch at 15 and became like 6"7 is when people wanted to jump or challenge me, you gotta be willing to fight them all and you'll make back up that way and gain respect. It's not just the little guys people target. If you're big and new to an area you're getting into a fight everyday from people trying to bully, always fought back and never felt suicidal.

    Back in the day you could fight bullies and get sent to detention or suspended for a day or two. No big deal. At least you stood up for yourself.
    Nowadays the school calls the police for every single physical altercation. If anything this just makes the bullies bullet proof. What kid wants to deal with those type of repercussions for sticking up for yourself these days?
    It’s creating an environment that only favors bullies and taddletails. Kids that are willing to put themselves in danger to protect themselves and their family/friends are being completely weeded out.
    No fucking wonder we have these “safe space” generations coming of age and shitting on anything good.

It went on for two days, until one day after school, I couldn't take it anymore and I punched him in the face; it was the first time I ever hit anyone. He became my friend after that....weird sh!t, huh? These kids today are bred to be soft and nothing said will ever change that. Bullies aren't entertained at all in school so they find ways to make it worth their while. Chasing someone around that is terrified of you gives you n warm empowerment feeling inside. You'll be surprised that the ones that fight back end up being the bullies best friend in the long run.

      @PapaRikkiBalls 4 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      @CreeWilly I don't think for me there would have been a way, if someone walked up to me and told me what was wrong with me I either would have not believed them but I probably would start crying or something dumb like that.
      I was weird. I couldn't look someone in the eye and talk to them and be normal, I had no idea what normal was. My dad was/is a nutcase and tought me to be everything wrong.
      It took me until 10th grade to figure everything out and once I did everything was great, I even was able to act cool enough that the kids that would bully me would talk to me and treat me with respect.

    • @youngknowledgeseeker
      @youngknowledgeseeker 3 ปีที่แล้ว +2

      Yeah bullying really should be judged on a case by case basis. Some instances of bullying are needed, or even if they’re not needed will result in positive results hopefully. Every man’s got to learn what the world is like and where they stand in it and how to defend themselves. However some bullying just straight up goes too far, because some kids are just fucking sociopathic, empatheticless little demons tbh it just is what it is. And the sooner you learn that there are a good number of people like that the sooner you can prepare for life in that kind of a world

    It's a tough issue man, kids need to learn to stand up for themselves. American culture has been developing a tendency to basically respond to every issue thinking about an utopia, it's like every answer to every problem is "well, but things SHOULD be like this", well yeah, but they're not. I think that because our lives have gotten easier as time goes on, we have this illusion that someday there'll be no hardship in the world, and that'll probably never happen. I think that even if violence ends somehow, there'll always be people trying to screw you, and you'll need to be agressive in those situations.

    It all comes down to teaching your kids practical real world consequences- if a kid gets away with shit at home they take that rise they get for being rewarded (or at least not punished) at home out into school and the real world. As a teacher I can tell you kids actually don’t like drama, naturally, they don’t want to see people uncomfortable- unless there is a big reward (or avoidance of consequence) in doing so. Real bullying almost always comes out of a result of absentee or just bad parenting. And the worst way to respond to bad parenting is with additional bad parenting- you have to let your kid stand up for themselves.

    I agree with them totally. We are raising a generation of whimps. At least most of us. My son and daughter wont be coming home crying cause someone said something offensive. They will learn to stick for themselves. I especially agree with Opie. One of the main issues is giving kids a trophy for losing. If you didnt come in 1rst, 2nd, or 3rd then you just need to work harder.

  • @Noga36
    @Noga36 11 ปีที่แล้ว +1

    usually i agree with 99% of what O&A have to say about certain topics, but they took the easy way out on this one. beating your children was a completely stupid way of "teaching". it didnt make our kids stronger, it made them into assholes just like their parents and they accepted it on some stupid level. most people never reflect on why they are the way they are.
