    Kakuno for the win.

The Kakuno EF is a winner. It's the finest nib I've ever used and it amazes me that it's so pleasant to write with. 😀

I’m finding wetter Pilot inks, the Iroshizuku line in particular, spread out and feather on my preferred writing surface which is the lightweight paper from Midori in my passport sized traveler’s notebook despite only ever using EF nibs in my Pilot78g+’s: Pilot red ink works fine, so it’s not a problem with every Pilot ink but it’s a pity as I particularly like Pilot’s colour palette:(; thanks for this:)

Hi Angus! I've experienced the same thing you're describing. When I first got into fountain pens, my Pilot Prera with an Iroshizuku ink was my favorite combo when using good paper. However, poor quality paper wasn't fun to write on and when I tried Tsuki-yo, it was noticeably wetter than the other Iroshizuku inks and would spread out more than I liked even on good paper. That's when I discovered that I liked the way it looked in a Pilot extra fine. I guess when it spreads out it's closer to a Pilot fine, which is my preferred nib size. Then when I started using gold nibs which tend to be a bit wetter, the spread was too much, even on Rhodia. With your handwriting most likely being smaller than mine, I can see where this is a problem for you.

Is Pilot Namiki Blue the same as Pilot Blue? I ordered the Pilot Namiki Blue on Amazon and got “Pilot Blue” -
Wondering if it’s the same or if I should send back since the container box looks totally different than their picture.

Thanks for showing the similarities to the other Pilot blues 🩵 I'm currently shopping for a light blue to match up with the "soft blue" kakuno that's on my Christmas list but that Namiki blue is very appealing. Great video, as usual!

Thanks Courtney! I just looked to see what color cartridges come with the Kaküno... it's black. That's a bummer. That would have been an easy way to test and see if you like that shade of blue in that pen. Fortunately it seems to be an affordable ink. 😀
