    Replaced battery (Extremecells with tool set) of my 4 year old Hauwei P9 following this video. On the whole, the video is good, but: my screen took quite a bit of working to remove and was not as straightforward as on the video. I think you need to work the screen out from the bottom where the Huawei logo is; that makes a difference. Also, I recommend the use of a quality suction tool such as the one used in the video. Mine was a single suction pad that you pull; it wasn't very good and it's a miracle I didn't break the screen. I found the battery was glued solidly in place. I carefully used isopropanol aound the edges, but it still took some force to remove and resulted in a sorry looking crumpled battery unit in the end. You have to be real careful levering it out - check what's underneath it before prodding under there! Also, there are a few tiny wires you really need to be careful not to disturb. Take great care around the connection points, particularly the one by the bracket you have to remove. So easy for a tool to slip and slice the wire. Finally, it helps to have good eyesight! Really, if you are struggling with your eyes or glasses maybe sort your glasses out? I need stronger glasses now and with my current pair, I really struggled to see what I was doing with the tiny screws. After all that, I was successful and I have now extended the life of my phone. Doing the job is well worth it and very satisfying - just take time and care. Thank you MovilOne Phone Repair for the clear video. I'm now off to the opticians :)

      It's a good video but same as Alex, getting the screen + phone body out of case was VERY hard. I tried to work on the bottom where logo is first but I think this caused screen to CRACK!! :-( I separated body out by working from middle, then using plastic levers to help get body out. ALSO the battery was very well stuck in place. It was quite hard to extract. Used little paintbrush to paint in alcohol. Gradually levered battery out. Good video but unsuccessful for me, cracked screen along bottom :-(

      Did you tape the sreen back to its body? there doesn't seem to be much useful adhesive left on the device

    Be careful with Isopropyl alcohol. It might get under the battery into LCD and create stains on the LED display. I am trying to dry it, but this is not good advice to put Isopropyl alcohol there. I learned it the hardway :( I have functional battery, but messed up LCD with stains.

    Beware that isopropal alcohol will leach into an wreck your LCD screen (guess how I learned) - so either use sparingly or not at all.

      That was my concern too, it seems so easy here, just with alcohol.. and the others works so hard to torn out the battery ! OTOH i guess the alcohol will dry fast.

    the two black strips are to pull them and remove the adhesive that fixes the battery in a simple way, when using alcohol has been discarded preventing being used

    • @Krrypton
      @Krrypton 3 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      @@filippocasati1252 Yeah, that happened to me as well. Using alcohol doesn't make removing the battery as easy as when pulling the strips works, but it's still much easier than removing it without soaking the adhesive with alcohol.

    Don't use ISOPROPANOL! I used it and it went under the screen and caused dark spots. Just bend a bit old battery and tear it off, and no problem. Now trying to dry off the screen.

    Non immaginavo che con alcool isopropilico si riuscisse a scollare agevolmente.. io ho provato a scaldare con una pistola termica a 80°C e praticamente non è contato un fico secco perché la saldatura è rimasta tenace come non mai e ho dovuto sudare sette camicie per staccare la batteria. Con l'alcool si fa presto? Using alcohol simplifies the extraction process? Is it quick and easy/comfortable?

    • @Krrypton
      @Krrypton 3 ปีที่แล้ว

      Beh, in teoria l'adesivo si dovrebbe rimuovere tirando le due linguette nere. Pero capita spesso che le linguette si stacchino senza tirare fuori la striscia di adesivo. Usare l'alcool non è proprio altrettanto veloce, però l'alcool indebolisce la colla e quindi fai molto meno fatica a rimuovere la batteria. Basta lasciarlo agire per 2-3 minuti prima di continuare con l'estrazione della batteria.

    Hello, what Torx tip did you use ? What size ?

    • @Krrypton
      @Krrypton 3 ปีที่แล้ว

      It's not Torx. It's a "pentalobe" screwdriver (5-pointed star) like iPhones use, size 0.8. DON'T try to use Torks on the screws, or you'll ruin them.

    Hello, I have a little problem. I recently changed the battery of my huawei p9 and now I'm experiencing screen flickering. I noticed it abit after using my phone. After about 10minutes of screentime, the flickering can get so bad that the whole screen might go totally black. Did I damage some part or I didn't attach everything as securly? I need help. What to check, what to look out for? I used abit of alcohol when trying to remove old battery. Could this be the problem?

    • @filippocasati1252
      @filippocasati1252 4 ปีที่แล้ว +2

      I think this may happen if you have damaged the 2 flexes underneath the battery when you tried to extract battery e.g. using a spudger, but more probably you didn't have correctly attached to the motherboard one of the two connectors of the two flexes; in this case reopen the phone, then check the two elements and press them till you'll hear a click

    • @henri6311
      @henri6311 4 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Hmm, i reopened the backpanel and noticed that one of the cables(on the very right side of the phone) was not propely and the backpanel pressed on it. After readjusting the cable, the flickering went away. I still had another problem. My battery was showing wrong % and would jump at times. I tried calibrating it atleast 6 times but that still didn't work as I wanted it to.

I've seen another similar offer for 10 OMR (Rial) - about 23 Euro
