- Vocabulary is always fun! Today let's go over the parts of the body. You know, head and arms and stomach, that kind of stuff. That way if you get hurt in Italy, you'll know what to tell the doctor!
Script by Patrizia Farina, Professor of Italian at Western Connecticut State University and Purchase College.

Stavo cercando un canale che mi permettesse di ripassare i concetti matematici dalle cose più semplici e mi sono imbattuta nel suo canale. Scorrendo le Playlist ho visto questa sull'italiano, è stato davvero inaspettato :-) immagino lei sia di origini italiane. Comunque complimenti per le spiegazioni matematiche, sono chiarissime! :-)
Grazie mille !
Well done Dave. Thank you for using the definite articles when describing nouns to clarify gender and number.
In Hungarian "boka", pronounced somewhat like "bocca", is ankle, and a slang word for the mouth or the cheeks even is "gamba", pronounced almost exactly like "gamba".
you should have fill in the blank printable worksheets. This video is awesome!
Love this lesson.
It was very useful thanksss
Who else up is here because their teacher assigned them to it
Rapid Laser yes
I am
Meeee

Really helpful
How are "lo stomaco" and "la pancia" used differently? Thanks for the video!
Stomaco is the organ (stomach). Pancia is the belly or maybe tummy itself with all its organs
Good
Please how can we make sentence with taste and eyes
I noticed that for some other body parts, when singular, masculine article is used, while in their plural form, feminine article is used. Confused me at first but maybe that's how it is. Thanks Prof..
Grazie un milliardo

Who is here because the teacher assigned it
Yes Emily I am
I'm confused guys
It's il sopracciglio and LE sopracciglia
I mean isn't it i sopracciglia
il to i for masculine plural
it’s derived from neutral gender in latin. some italian words have a masculine singular and a feminine plural. for example: l’osso (the bone) -> le ossa (the bones)
in this cases singular words end always with “o” and plurals in “a”
Isn’t *linguini* Italian for *tongue* ? 👅
Isn't "face" > "faccia"?

@@4d3l3.m thanks
prof why is il sopracciglio but the plural is le sopracciglia ? why the gender got changed?
because it is a residue of the nominative dual that was present in the Latin language that ended with -a
In some cases, when two parts of the body are always in pairs, the Italian language uses the dual Latin instead of the plural (il ginocchio/le ginocchia).
I got zero out of six on the quiz
