It is amazing that it is possible to have awesome content on social media without bad language, false tension, disrespectful interactions, etc. You folks are awesome, thank you for sharing with this automotive and aircraft enthusiast.
You know it amazes me how people make bad comments to all you folks out there in Utah but they still watch you and complain be thankful these people are good people no swearing no smoking no drinking they all get along leave them alone if you don’t like it don’t watch if you can’t say something good about people don’t say it at all they’re actually working what are you doing setting back and complaining
“Getting a little out of control” as he grins like a mule eating briars, classic!
You get, you drive, you break, repeat remember always cars are still cheaper than drugs
I was going to say safer to but then I thought. That really depends on who's driving so I'll just go with definitely not as harmful to the brain.😂
Chad and team it would be nice to remove any disrespectful comments about Fab Rats, I would block those people from your channel.
Mom saved the truck shop and the house, ❤thanks Mom!
YAY! Shop Mom!
AMEN to that!!👍
Seems like the tired motor is still dishing out smiles. Time for a refresh I guess.
Looking forward to an engine rebuild for Griz. Chad you are so chill on camera, I hope you find time to vent. I know I do😁
Your videos are genuinely entertaining, keep it up
After the borescope we now know that the iron on the magnetic drain plug was from the rust in that cylinder.
Chad, I pretty much know small blocks, but have ZERO experience with an LS. I'd love for you to do a step by step, in detail, on what you do to bring this"new" block back to life! I think it would make an awesome video with many views, and I'd hope, a lot more subscribers! And, label them part one two three and so on.
As a true mechanic.....Chad enjoys challenges! Wouldn't wanna get bored!!
Seems like Gonzo is James Bonds recreational vehicle, throwing a smoke screen like no other 😂
I’d love to hear you guys talk about what you are doing when changing seals and other parts. Not easy, but viewers love to understand what’s going on.
Well pretty much what we buy trucks for to drive and repair
😊❤😊❤😂
Lol, throw in a quart of Marvel Mystery oil. It'll be fine. 😎👍🏻 ...🤣🤣 😮!? ..🤣
Welcome to racing.. :)
If you're going to drive it like a race car, you better be prepared to rebuild it every event.
I guess it's not a problem since you've got another motor to replace the one that's a little worn out.
Just more content for another great video, right ? 👍
I’ve always wanted to build something like this. I wanted to do an f100 and I was hanging onto a 351 Cleveland motor to power it but the years went by and my daughter was born and I realized that motor had sat for 5 years and I never even cracked a bolt on it so I sold it. Oh well maybe someday
I learned something new today. I have never had the chance to work on a steering box. I'm 71. You ROCK! Teacher at work. Lesson plan on the way.
A great learning experience, yes, your positive attitude is exactly that.
Thank you for it.
It was a matter of time for the not-new, definitely-used, been-stored LS engine Chad and Paul and crew put in Gonzo in the beginning. It's cool that Chad is already on it building a better 6.0 liter LS that will make considerably more torque and horsepower. Gonzo will be more fun-time, party-mode capable and we'll get to see him put the power down. ;)
Too bad about the motor being so warn out in Gonzo but it was fun while it lasted and sense you are building a different motor it should live again. Stay safe and healthy everyone.
That LQ4 was probably worn out long before it ended up in Gonzo. Happens when you choose a 150+K mile engine for a build.
It was just a worn out 5.3l from Paul's FJ. It has been a ton of fun, but it's time for it to come out get rebuilt and live on in Kenner's truck.
Get a 6.0 for it and put a cam and better valve springs in it
Exactly what's going to happen! Look for it soon.
Can't wait to see this build! I know I say this often but I love this channel! Wonderful people making awesome videos! God bless you and your family!
Too bad about Gonzo's engine. You saved from catastrophic failure so it's a good core. Cars & trucks are just like boats. Bust Out Another Thousand. Fully knowing this I still love to work on them. Thanks for sharing
Thanx for sharing your experience 👍
Have a Great Day 👍
the pull on Gonzo is next level, no wonder you were saying dont care, i`ll do an autopsy when it dies 🤣 great video as always Chad, thanks for sharing
If it's anything like the Griz its going to take Gonzo to a whole new level
Time for build this engine with Chads Fab , that’ll be a great series, you was looking for something different too.
by the looks of those skirts you might want to check if the cylinders are not oval or tapered
NO NEW Builds, miss you guys.
Chad I think you should go by o’l Smokey….King of the burnout!
Gonzo says: If I only had a bed and motor...
I was just thinking why doesn't he just run it until there's a window on the side of the motor? Then you made a good point on the amount of oil under the hood. It would be a shame to burn it down! Love hugs and prayers from Waco Texas.😁
Thank you Chad and crew for the update on Gonzo !
You’ll just end up spending more on tires anyway, it will be good fun. Thanks.
I've got a 66 sitting on 35s with granny gears a np205 twin stick, 3:73s, yukon posi in the rear. 85-87 k5 frame. 454 crate engine, painless wiring, fitech fuel injection should you need another 60s model Chad
Sounds like a very cool truck!
Good morning Chad's FAB'ulous family 👋 absolutely enjoy the videos thanks for sharing 👍
Don't forget the trunion upgrade kit, Chad....( Needle bearing disaster)
I have a bronze bushing kit ready to install.
Good job Stacy, sharp eyes
Great job guys. Thank you 😊
Thanks for your content !
Can't wait to see you hit the key and the only smoke you see is from the tires 😂. Have a great week Chad and family.
It’s not leaking oil it’s sweeting horsepower
Classic Chad, he's tipped off balance for a moment; "I don't want to know", but in a flash he's back to pragmatic Chad: "We'll do an autopsy".
Always a pleasure watching you work, thanks for sharing, all the best to you and your loved ones
I love ur guys channel......one request....can you guys tryn get some soft lighting underneath when ur doing the steering box or anything that's being fixed....it makes it easier to see what is going on...ok god bless ❤️🇺🇲
Nice : old school trick with packing grease on the spring side of the seal !
That is the most impressive find a bolt to fit rack I have ever seen :D
Have a word with Steve Morris and put a SMX in Gonzo it may give just a little bit more power
Another Great Video 👍 Great content, keep up the great work!
How about a nice 283 ci sbc with a 2 bbl ?
Built to be pretty and get the best possible MPG.
From a 78 yr old who started drag racing in San Diego in 1964 and has become an old Fudd in Paragonah with horses and a fly rod.
Love your channel and family way !
Great teacher
Always EXCELLENT ✨️
Thanks for another fun episode!
👍😂😂😂😂 😎 thanks for the analysis discussion I am learning.
Another great show. Thanks.
We can rebuild him. We have the technology. We can make him better than he was. Better! Stronger! Faster!
I get it.
@@njlooksee 😎
Lookin forward for the new motor🤙🤙
great as always great content m
Go on Chad and down it and put that LS in it or take that engine and rebuild it it would be one mean motor
It's funny after watching you and your son it brought back a memory I was at work with a young guy and he told me screw drivers were not chisels I told him the screwdriver I was using I was using it like that when he was playing with Hot wheels they take the abuse keep up the great vids Chris
Great save Stacy.
That motor is blowing out oil......
Looking forward to what’s coming!
You’ll make it even better!
As you know what Paul would say “ it’ll be fine” love the channel
Paul would be right 😁
I enjoy your videos sir thank you guys
Thanks for watching!
Thanks for sharing 😀👍
Thanks for watching
A Fine Remember today Chad 👍 👍
If you bore it, bore it to a 5.7 and use LS1 pistons is a good idea.
No old truck is free. Good video.
Gonzo says I want an LS Daddy
Try pulling the snap ring then plug or cap return crank engine the pressure will push seal out and you can reinstall seal without disassembly of box.
Time to give Gonzo a heart transplant!
Engine failure is never fun ! Thanks for sharing !
Reminds me of the Castrol commercial "Fights Viscosity and Thermal Breakdown!!" 😅 Nice truck, will look awesome when you paint it! I'd drive it every day
I would too, except somedays I don't get off the property unless I'm test driving a customer's car
@chadsfab I don't blame you, I'd kill to move back to North Western PA, and buy a piece of land, about to buy another house on long Island, what ya going to do, it's the burbs and my family is here, otherwise, I'd be out! But TG for having a place to live and having my motorcycle and my Tacoma S.A.Swap, gotta be happy for what we do have, oh yeah and my friends and family 😆
A "job" for Korbin could be to use a label maker for all those blue nut 'n bolt bins. HAHA
U also need a filter on the turbo...or good bye engine
I think you should pick up another Godzilla 7.3 for Gonzo
True if your not true to yourself how could you be an inspiration to others with out that truth.
I Wish you could put out a Video a Day, Thanks for Posting
are all of the rockers rockin and rollen
Toys break but good news is, they can be made better!
Don’t blame Fabrats. Chad hammered the shit out of that motor. Cause he doesn’t care. Drop a new one in.
I don't blame Fab Rats for it at all!! I'm thankful to Fab Rats for giving it to me!!
And you're right, I beat it every chance I get 😁
I bet there's a new project coming in the shop soon!
Very very nice video , time laps with music not so much , forces folks to fast forward thru , and that’s just being truthful , just what happens folks want to hear Chad , all the rest not so much !
I guess since it's time to pull the motor, maybe while it's out it's time to clean up and paint the engine compartment?
Since the early '80s, I've used only 100% synthetic engine oil, from a manufacturer, that had at that time, publicly documented, the very significant reduction in engine wear, that their full synthetic, Mobil 1, did provide for a, well built/factory new, engine used in a street driven vehicle. Today, there are more brands of full synthetic engine oil that can be trusted. With your desire to spin Gonzo's turbo hard, any new engine for Gonzo, that is not a dedicated build with known suitable parts, may fail early, regardless of which brand of full synthetic oil, lubes it.
Howd Kaden's paint/body turn out any chance of a peek?
I kind of showed it in the last video. We will be showing more as it gets assembled.
The new rebuild will max out the turbo unlike now where the turbo maxed out the engine.
The turbo definitely shortened the short life it already was going to have increasing the blow by so it blows bubbles now.
When you turbo a junkyard motor you are on borrowed time!
Especially if the motor is as worn out as this one is.
No you don't need to bump the rev limiter up....😏😝....at least until the forged rebuild....
I think Gonzo’s gonna get a heart transplant.
Hello 👋 guys well Chad looks like it’s time for a motor swap I would rather change a old school motor like that versus a new car today no way they suck I’m old school hahaha ok love you guys Take Care 👍❤️✌️💪🏻☮️
I'll never understand why people spend all the time and money building up zn empty block but skipping having the blocked checked for cracks and flat decks.
I check the bores and the decks before I spend any time or money on a motor, not sure what you're inferring??
rebuild kit !
Steve Morris builds bubble like that....makin 3000+ hp....🤓...so....maybe yer just makin so much....😏😎
I have read all of the comments the good and the bad ones ! To those that thinks new engines are better than ones out of a junkyard ! How much do think a new engine costs compared to a junkyard ? Let's just a vehicle has been wrecked beyond repair body wise but the engine area is good and the engine run great ! Would you rather spend $1000.00's on a new engine for a old beat up vehicle or get the engine from the wrecked vehicle for less money probably a lot less ?
Find you another Godzilla for Gonzo and give the rear end a posi or weld it. Then you will have an absolute burnout monster.
The new(ish) 6.0l will make plenty of power and cost me waaaaaay less than the godzilla. 😁
