Hydro Traveler is worse than I expected. Maybe there is a better use for them with future characters, but they seem very underwhelming. Since it's a free character from Hoyoverse, it's not that surprising.
I find it funny how hydro travelers skill is literally just hin throwing water. And it does exactly what you think it would irl

Even with the anemo traveler, at least you can get some CC and element infusion with the held ability and ult.
Plus, I’ll never get tired of watching people use the tornado to send enemies out into the water where they fall and drown 😂
I think if the anemo traveler’s damage scaled better like the more recent elements (minus hydro) it would be a more viable playstyle, but that’s just a personal thought.
the only thing good about hydro traveler is their colors, I really like the color blue they used for hydro traveler
Agree, it looks really cool how Aether/Lumine have the blue colors when they're resonated with hydro
I think they also unlock waypoint in 4.1 area; Best Traveler element:
1.Dendro
2.Electro
3.Geo
4.Anemo
5.Hydro so bad
Me personally, I'll put electro below geo.
There's an argument between electro and geo being tied, or maybe one is better than the other, but yeah I agree. Dendro is definitely the best and hydro is definitely the worst one so far.
@@sagaleuix2989 Electro traveler is mini Raiden, battery, and in general this element can react with others but Geo don't
@@aliwi3476 hence why the "Me personally" at the start of my sentence.
I prefer the versatility of Geo Traveller.
Besides, Geo still deal lots of dmg even in their own mono teams. Who needs battery when everyone else in the team is the same element anyway.
Please Hoyo give Geo more reactions.

Yeah.. honestly, Hydro is by far the worst iteration of the Traveler we've had so far. Hoyo just straight up made the kit actively work against all the strengths of the element.
Their Hydro application is very mid and requires you to be on field.
Damage is just laughable, and even with amazing gear it's nothing to write home about.
And then there's the whole thing of not being able to move while casting the skill.. which also just so happens to have both, a long cast time and a long cooldown. And it even drains your HP. The generatd Sourcewater Droplets do help alleviate that, but only if you manually pick them up. Which just feels clunky.
As for the burst.. man, it's just sad. On paper, it's a slightly weaker Ayaka burst. In practice, it just phases through anything and everything, dealing 1 to 2, maybe 3 instances of damage on its way.
Not only that but they've also got that awkward split scaling where the skill wants HP, but the Burst wants ATK.
At least with the Anemo Traveler you can just slap the good ol' Viridescent Venerer on them and have the RES shred along with some okay-ish grouping and good damage. And the burst, while extremely wonky, can at least be stopped with a Geo construct or terrain features.
Yeah they really made Hydro Traveler bad 💀. There are little to no positive aspects of the kit that I can think of. Like you said, Anemo Traveler has access to VV so they can be more helpful compared to Hydro.

Dendro traveler is free too, but is far from being dogshiiiit. Hydro traveler is just pure utter dogshiiiit.
Dendro Traveler is good because dendro element is just very good. But yeah Hydro Traveler is just awful lol
I think if you just press the skill after casting it does one big wave of water so your not just shooting a pea shooter lol
Yeah I didn't include it in the video but I tried it out a few times and it's so underwhelming lol. It's just a very weak skill if you tap or hold it.
@@MeiZM lol its just so sad that it doesn’t do a decent chunk of damage And honestly it wouldve been better if they had it copy furinas kit which i wont spoil but omg would it have been WAY better
I'm not saying Hydro Traveler is good but if you leave all his talents at 1, there's no wonder he does no damage. Also with regards to not being able to move, you know another character that has similar problem? Yoimiya. Even Neuvillette has pretty harsh restriction on dodging when shooting his fire hose and few are complaining about it. There are shielders in the game. If you don't use them, its your choice, not a flaw of character design.
It is possible to pull quite a lot of utility from Hydro Traveler in fact, it's just clumsy and ineffective and there are way better options. Which is pretty much the same for all MC variants except perhaps DMC because its burst is actually useful. But DMC is a fluke.

I get what you mean but cancelling your skill vs cancelling your attack combo is much different. You don't get any cooldown refund either, and you have to wait the full 10 seconds again.
Dendro Traveler is very good because dendro as an element is strong. Otherwise, I would argue Dendro Traveler would be mediocre if the kit was implemented in another element.
