I’m so proud of you for being honest about your travel arrangements. I can tell you always try to see the best in every situation but this time you had to speak up and say something negative about the resort to protect your followers from experiencing the same issues you were having. It’s not easy being assertive at times but I think you need to pat yourself on the back for standing up for yourself. I recommend you write a polite letter to the resort, attaching your photos and describe your trip to them. As long as you aren’t cranky, a reputable resort will want to know how they can make the stay better for their other customers. Who knows, they might even offer you a trip as their guest at another resort.

I’m going to say this seems to be a Margaritaville problem. Catfishing is a new way of it being phrased for me, I said false advertisement when I checked out their resort in central Florida. The rooms didn’t match what was promised. The staff seemed pressed due to low staffing, which I can’t fault them for. I had family coming in and I was checking out options for them to stay. I wish you would have spoken up while you were there to see if you could get compensation for the issues you had - especially the last day at the pool. That’s inexcusable. You were targeted no doubt due to your age and that’s not ok. I’m glad you made the best of a bad situation.

That is super disappointing about the service you were given at the resort.. I used to work in a hotel and our goal each day was to create the best experience possible for each guest so that they felt at home and wanted to return. I would be upset too if I had spent my money and time somewhere that I was treated so poorly. Still a great video! 🌴💜☀️

🏝🐚 Beautiful vlog! Hate you resort wasn’t good ☹️. I’m going to St. John in a few weeks and I’m so excited! Our resort has a ferry we can take back and forth to St. Thomas and one evening we are planning to go to Sunset Grille so I’m soooo glad to hear your review that the food was good 😊
Lauren, I bring a 10 cup ZeroWater Filter Pitcher and a filter for each person in the room/party. So, if I travel with 3 other friends and myself we each pitch in for 4 filters and I bring 2 extras just in case we need them. Our next trip we are each taking 3 water filters and I have just bought 2 new pitchers and a pack of 6 filters on purpose to take with us. Then, we empty them into all the empty pitchers at whatever place we stay at. I use to also take and pack a box and ship it there with 4 pitchers that are gallon size and 3 giant boxes full of family size tea bags, 2 big bags of Splenda loose sugar substitute, a pack of 6 filters and then one of two filter pitchers and then my Mom would mail it for me to wherever we were staying and confirm it was there 2 days before leaving. If you have a refrigerator you should be all good and my mom taught me how to make tea in 2 pitchers and fill the other 2 pitchers with water and then use their pitchers and fill them with water and then refill the actual filter pitchers with water and put them in the refrigerator before going out. Then, you had cool or cold water when you got back to the room to drink. Now, I take Ice Cube Trays and make ice cubes as soon as we get there as well and also take the Hydro Flask with us too. Then you’re good and safe for water. Everyone of my friends and I take 2 hydro flasks and before we leave we will fill one up before leaving, then I pack everything up the night before after it is fully dry, then leave one pitcher and one filter out if it is about to be bad. I empty the ice into a bowl and fill everyone’s Hydro Flasks up (my duty on trips) then fill one hydro flask about 1 hour before going to the airport, dry out the pitcher, change the filter and then we refill the water pitcher at the airport if we are where nasty water is and refill the hydro flasks (both of the hydro flasks that we each have) and then pack the pitcher in Mom’s Tote or my tote bag and board the plane. Just a tip for your next trip just so you have fresh and safe water to drink.

My gosh Lauren. I worked in hotels for about five years and honestly, nothing you said was rude or you overreacting in any way. All of that is so horrible to hear and I'm so so sorry you had that experience! Hospitality is supposed to be about making every guest's stay as special as you can and they did not deliver. I'm glad the rest of your trip was good and that you and Madi had a lovely time together🏖
(Also, my theory of why you were kicked out is that maybe they recognised you were influencers/filming your trip and just wanted to be salty because they knew you were probably going to be able to prove what a terrible experience you had. May as well just kick you out so you can't get more footage of potentially damning evidence. Regardless, what they did was a cr*ppy thing to do and I really hope you can take a trip like this again and have a better hotel experience.)
I stayed at Margaritaville in Palm Spring, CA...loved our room and the pool area, but we didn't have a hair dryer like the website said it would (this was one of their more expensive suites), and we were also supposed to have two complimentary water bottles and we didn't have those either. We had to request them.
Hot tip!! If you ever go again, PLEASE stay on St. Johns Island instead! The people there are much friendlier, the beaches are incredible, the resorts are nicer, and it's simply a ferry ride over from St. Thomas! It is a little more expensive and harder to find a place to stay, however it is worth the splurge.
Also, our family has always packed an extra checked bag that is only snacks and bottled water/gatorade for the exact issue you had. It saves you on money big time and helps in the long run. Great video though!!!

Sorry you had such bad experiences at that resort, but you are right to share that information with your viewers, so thank you! I mean, there wasn't just one thing wrong, there was a LOT wrong and that's unacceptable. Good luck with your senior year!!
You should complain to the corporate office of that resort. It is absolutely unacceptable to treat paying guests in that way. Let them know you will not return and many of your subscribers will not stay there.
I know you said you weren’t the happiest where the stayed but hope you go back one day my friends go there a lot but don’t stay in a resort and the beaches and everything they send me pictures of look amazing hopefully next time you’ll have a better experience!
When I went we stayed at limetree and took a tour around and the guy told us not to stay at margaritaville because it always smells like that. We went in July of 2021 and it smelled horrible then. Smh

Hey it’s not unusual for new sponges in wrapping to be wet. They are packaged slightly moist.
Our best friend lives in St. Thomas and literally the first thing he said when we went there was not to drink the tap water. He said even ice made with tap water, or fountain drinks that have a tap into them can make you sick. I can't believe they told you to drink the tap water!
Call them, and complain. Another note, cute friendship.

I’m glad you both had a nice trip despite this horrible resort. I’m glad you both will be expressing the lack of professionalism experienced-for start, having security called when you clearly are at the resort since you had one wrist band -c’mon. That’s just stupid. It’s plainly clear that they were targeting you because you were content creators. That’s disgusting and they should be ashamed and I’m personally glad you got salty with them!
Next, NEVER drink tap water from any foreign place-that will cause serious stomach issues. They should have provided you with bottled water! Heck, Best Westerns provide water and a breakfast buffet of coffee and fresh fruit!

Hey Lauren. I saw Madi's 2 part St Thomas vlog on her channel and have been excited to see your vlog, it did not disappoint btw. In regards to your experience, I'm sorry to hear the resort and some other parts of the trip weren't the best for you gals. My dad grew up in St Thomas and told me that tourist season for the US Virgin Islands is primarily in the fall/winter months; I'm not at all trying to make excuses for the way ppl acted or anything but fall/winter is when most ppl vacation in the Caribbean. Can't wait to see your future videos and congratulations for being on TH-cam for 3 years, may you enjoy many more years to come.

We took our honeymoon in May to aruba and that island is run by the iguanas! We saw a huge one climb up a little girl’s chair at the pool restaurant bc she kept feeding it fries… she didn’t even care that it was climbing up her chair!! I could never
