By far the most informative video I have seen for pontoon use from the undoing of the cover to your wife's sage words . , cleaning- cleaners, Bimini top, batteries, and etc.. thank you . This is actually just what I needed to see as my Suntracker FB 20 Dlx is FINALLY being built . I ordered it so long ago I actually almost gave up.. I was even starting to complain about the fees at my lake for a covered slip.. I have No complaints now lol. I was starting to regret having ordered the underpinning but this video makes me feel good about that order option, and thank you for reminding me to order a battery shut off switch from my dealer..great vid and keep em coming...Enjoy your lake downtime. Boat safely to all.
This is a great video. I am an engineer and I tend to get caught up in to minor details of many things. This explained many unanswered questions I had about this pontoon. Thanks! We ended up buying the 20' slx
Thank you so very much for your video. Were new to the Bennington family. Your video was incredibly informative! We just purchased our pontoon and are awaiting the dealer to complete its initial service. We are hoping to we will enjoy our first outing easter weekend. Your video has given me the fuel we need to enjoy our first boat.
Great video enjoyed watching all of it learned a lot I had a 20-year-old pontoon that I never covered and just ordered a new one that I will be covering an uncovering on the weekends at the lake and was dreading it but now I remember what your wife said and it won't bother me at all doing it thanks a lot
That's so good to hear about your cover. Seriously, my wife's comment completely transformed my outlook. Don't get me wrong... I wish I didn't have to do it. I would love a lift and a canopy cover, but I'm so happy I am blessed to afford a boat in a slip, the cover is part of the fun!
Awesome....just awesome. In process now of purchasing my first boat - 24 LXSB tritoon. I tend to get nervous about what "extras" are necessary for safety and preventative maintenance. Tried to catch what you said about how you clean interior and exterior. All the best!
Where did you get your outboard cover as we are getting the same motor on our Bennington 20 SLV which hopefully we will have in about 1 week. It will be slipped and I like this idea so the sun doesn't beat it up while it sits! Thanks in advance and great video! Also what is the diameter of your fenders? Wondering where we will store ours as wanted to use the space you put yours as a cooler spot.
I bought the cover at www.partsvu.com. The fenders are Polyform G4 (6 1/2" diameter x 22" length) which we bought from our marina but you can find them anywhere online or at a marine store. We put our cooler behind the helm chair as we access it all the time. For us, under the helm is for stuff we don’t need to access often. Good luck with your new boat!
@@authorizeduser9762 One more question, where did you get your added door locks that you used on your doors to keep them open? Because I'm interested in a certain one that I can put at any point like you did?? TIA
@@michaeldesimone8311 I got mine from my marina. They had a box of them on the shelf they sold individually. However, Bennington has a much, much better design out now. They are mounted right at the hinge and is a super smooth way of keeping the door open without the possibility of a toe stub. I was thinking about swapping mine out at some point. That's how cool they are.
Grab some foam pipe insulation for outdoor pipes and place it around that ladder rail. It'll save you from a lot of pain. I think getting shot might hurt less than banging your toe on a hard piece of metal.
My marina had a box of them on one of the shelves. Like three bucks apiece. Didn't come with stainless screws, though. I encourage you to look at the Bennington site as Bennington has brand new doorstops that are far superior.
I just purchased one last week that is being set up now and have not picked it up yet. By seeing yours on the water I believe I made a good color choice. Went with a 22 ssr with a silver accent. Thanks !
Do they have this exact boat and options in a 18 foot? If so, what model number would I ask a dealer for? I like the battery power off switch also the splash guards underneath.
@@sciondvr I've had it for about three years and it's only been a handful of times that it's fallen. And it's always when I hit it by accident or rotate in my captain's chair that makes it come off. With normal operation it stays rock solid.
I anchor in a very shallow, sandy bottom lake. The navy anchor that you see in this video did not work that well in these conditions, particularly when windy. I wound up buying a Fortress 4 pound aluminum fluke/danforth anchor. That thing will hold my boat, and three additional boats tied to me, with no problem. Spend the $150 and get a Fortress fluke/danforth anchor. It's light as a feather and it holds like magic.
I'm on my 2nd seachoice $40 fluke style anchor. Digs in to any soft bottom and holds my 22' pontoon in any wind so far. I have a spike/stake to use from the boat's shallow end to keep it from swinging around in the breeze when we park in the "party cove."
@@authorizeduser9762 our Qwest 820 lanai came with 90 sho and stainless steel prop last time out we got 29.6 miles per hr but we have full lifting strakes
Thanks for watching and feeling the need to crap all over my purchase; appreciate it! Not that I care anything about you to even mention this, but the 90 horsepower was the maximum allowed for the boat (27 mph is perfect for our needs); I rarely if ever have six people on it at a time; we do not do any water sports; and we anchor in 4 feet of beautiful, crystal clear water with a sandy bottom and have an awesome time with our friends. It's a great life! What boat did you say YOU own, Rich? None? OK. 🤣🤣
@@authorizeduser9762 No problem bud. Just wanted to provide a little education for you since you obviously are a noob but that's ok. I guess he doesnt know you can only go up to a 150 on a tritoon version. Your boat is very nice and performs the same or better as just about all the 2 log boats of all manufacturers of the same size and horse power.
Rich doesn't know what he's talking about. I have a 2021 Sylvan 8520 with a 90hp mercury command thrust and it will do 23 mph with 4 people onboard while 2 others being towed on a tube. Nice boat btw.

That was a really good video explaining and showcasing your Bennington. Done better than most sales.
I appreciate that!
Thank you for the video. First time owner of a Pontoon boat and very glad to have come across your video.

Great review and thanks for all the tips I will be a new boat owner in May
Great informative video! Thanks for sharing. I'm even more excited to get mine now!
We bought our 2024 SLV SPS last weekend. Great boat and helpful video, thank you!
Really enjoyed this tour of the boat

Thanks for making this video. Just took delivery on our 2022 20’ SXLG and find your video very helpful.
A stainless steel prop will give you about 2mph over the alum prop on a 90 hp motor.
Well worth the cost and they look so nice.
Amazing video I started to like my 2022 19 Legend pontoon with 90hp Mercury. Yamaha VMAX is a great engine.
Great video, very well done and nice to watch.
Excellent video, thanks for sharing all the information on the boat.
Great video.. trying to buy the same boat but wasn’t sure. Your video made it a must buy!!! Great review
So happy for you!
We just bought 20sv last year. Have couple issues that I don’t like is needs under decking bad. And the throttle won’t stay in position.
Great video! Cheers Canandaigua Lake! From Seneca Lake in the Finger Lakes!
In Canada we are not allowed a porta potty on the boat unless it is screwed down it has to be pumped out
You made the right choice in picking a Yamaha Outboard. They are the Toyota of the Marine world.

Great video. What do you use to attach the Yeti dry bag to your railing?
Taylor clips made for hanging fenders. I simply slide the Velcro strips on the back of the Yeti between the clips and the rail. Holds very tightly.
What type of cover do you have? and where'd you purchase from? I really like it!
The cover came with the boat. It's made by Tumacs, I believe.
Thanks for this video!

What prop size and pitch are you using on your Bennington 20 ‘ with the 90 hp Yamaha ?
What bumper clips do you use on your boat? They look like a quick release?
Something like this. a.co/d/0IdTZHc
Very informative video!
$4000 a year??? For a 20ft?? No way
It's up to $5,000 now.
How did you secure your yeti sidekick?
I used two fender clips and hooked the Yeti on the rail. Basically, I used the clips to pinch/attach the Velcro on the Yeti's backside to the rail.
Thank you! I’ll give it a shot. Did you ever have a problem of the bag pulling down off of the clip?

13.5x12
